That does sound like a message watty. Shame for your friend. As I was reading your post I was literally thinking “Universe doesn’t like this plan!” and then you say it 😊
Is there no way bullied friend could bring some of her horses to your place? Or do you not have enough stabling? I was just thinking, for a few months until she has a new permanent option, it could be a useful second revenue for you, plus more company of someone you know around? I may of course be talking complete horse poop! 😉

That is very serendipitous indeed! How thoroughly nasty that people who are presumably there because they care about horses would behave in a way to spook a horse that badly
Do you feel it's worth having a wee chat with the police or a legal representative if you're worried that your ex will come round if you don't answer his calls? There's no reason for him to be in your life at all even if you'd had a pleasant break-up. You literally had to get an injunction, you should not still be having to live your life worrying about what the consequences are if you don't dance to his tune. Sending huge hugs x8 -
Re ex probably not simply because I really struggled to get anyone to take me seriously at the time. I ended up doing the court statement with the help of a charity because the lawyers I spoke to said I didn't have a chance. Some of the charities also said that I would be lucky because there was no physical violence.
The whole sorry episode taught me a lot about how women often suffer in silence.
I have been honest with myself about him and have put a little printed up sign in the office to the effect he is not my friend and using many of the phrases the lovely people on here have used to sum up the situation in a few words.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

The weather has been so awful that I really don't have enough grazing. The fields are very wet and a lot of the fencing is not great. I used electric fencing to keep mine away from certain areas where it was so poor.
The other issue if I am honest is that her mare is, in my opinion, very bolshy and not that nice to handle. My fell pony can be a bit of a thug but is easily bribed with a handful of food to turn into a nice chap whereas her mare is very awkward, often cannot be caught and so on.. That didn't inspire me to want to live with her.
Obviously I will take her in if she has to leave in a hurry while she finds somewhere else but I'm not keen on living with a difficult to handle horse. I thought i was being overly cautious so checked with another person who knows them both and discovered that actually her mare is as bad as I suspected.
So the universe made it clear that my plan was not going to work and I'm grateful for that as I got to think it and think it through and decide against it with help in less than 24 hours

De-lurking in solidarity to say that every February I get completely disheartened by the mud and rain and think how lovely it would be to have all the facilities of a nice yard and company to help (not helped this morning that my buggers have got into the hay store overnight and put holes in every bale!). But by May the local horsey Facebook page is once again full of people looking to move / falling out with each other / creating drama and I am once again grateful to have my own peaceful sanctuary.
We are 15 years in and still not got the fencing all done - it is a money sink having your own land, but I tell myself it is an investment for the long term"It’s all about balance, do you see? Balance is the trick. Keep the balance and—” She stopped. “You’ve ridden on a seesaw? One end goes up, one end goes down. But the bit in the middle, right in the middle, that stays where it is. Upness and downness go right through it. Don’t matter how high or low the ends go, it keeps the balance.”10 -
Thanks so much @Rach273 I know you are right and it is so lovely to hear from someone in the same situation.
I don't think my fencing will ever be done A bit gets strengthened and another bit falls. It is an ongoing battle. Recently the really nice man whose land borders mine complained about the electric on top of the fence saying he was tired of getting a shock and it really was too strong. I apologised but said that it was probably better that way than my 3 in his market garden. He paused and I really hope he could see the point. I felt 3 horses exploring his growing plants might not be helpful although of course they would leave manure!

Most Handsome had his painkillers reduce and he was allowed out on the yard for most of yesterday and sadly was very lame by the end of the day so too much too soon. Back on stable confinement. He is being so good though.
Charming Cob had physio and she was really impressed with how things are going and his improvement so I'm pleased with that and I'm wishing I had taken photos before we started so I could compare, as i see him every day i don't think he looks any different but apparently all good.
1st March - was hoping for a rapid shift in mood but I know it doesn't really happen like that. Have booked appointment with hormone specialist (I see one privately after my GP refused to address the issue. Subsequently another GP has apologised but looked at my private prescription and said the NHS couldn't match it and if I can afford it to stay with the private doctor as she thought it was a better prescription for me!).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Last day of the month/first of the new month brings about a financial review just to be sure I am going on the right direction.
I began this diary with credit card debt and very little spare money at all. The CC is cleared. If I spend on my CC I transfer the amount into a savings account for that purpose then transfer it to my current account to clear the card when the payment is due (in full!) Last month the interest on saving account was £5.74. Not having cc debt is one stress ticked off the list.
Some of the company profit moved to pension plan to give that a boost and to save some corporation tax. I'm pleased with this, obviously I'm never going to make up lost ground but I'm looking forwards not backwards at the errors of the past.
This month has been really expensive as both WattyDog and Most Handsome have had high vets bills - but - I have paid those without withdrawing from the Premium Bond Welfare Fund so that now stands at £11525.00 Most Handsome will possibly need more vet visits next month but no worries because of the Welfare Fund.
The house savings account which will eventually cover house repairs and spends on house has £600. I had hoped it would be more but I needed more bottled gas in February (£157 for that). Hopefully the weather will warm up and the bills will start to fall.
My emergency fund can cover 2 months of expenses if it had to.
I stuck with my version of a 'no spend' month too. (I did buy a garden bench second hand from market place which was a 'want' not a 'need' but all the wooden benches are broken so a nice bench to sit on was a 'want' ),
My win for the month business wise was employing a Virtual PA. Not much progress on course but I will work on that over the weekend.
