You may be worse off financially when looking at the raw figures but what you have instead is irreplaceable. Plus you’re not done yet. You have at least this year to keep earning in and you have some good momentum atm. 😊
You should be very proud of you ❤️

Thank you for all the lovely cheerleading. I feel quite emotional, thank you, I really appreciate it.
Busy couple of days here: Most Handsome has a new saddle. I have lost confidence riding him, and, a nagging doubt around his appalling behaviour is that his saddle might not fit well (think uncomfortable shoes) so I got a saddler out and explained I wanted something second hand if possible and was told that was almost impossible. Now I had done my research carefully and picked a particular brand suited to his shape. She came and £75 spent to have the template made for a new one and off she went. Whilst here she mentioned a new brand that had just come on to the market made by a local company and she would look into that as the price point was excellent.
Now, I have chased her a number of times and she says she is waiting for the factories to get back to her. As CC has a saddle made by the very same local company, and, I usually go there for a saddle fitting I emailed the wife of the owner and said I was fed up with the fitter and could Most Handsome and I call in. This woman does all the marketing - I knew she would respond and so she did within a few hours. A couple of emails back and forwards and the date was sorted. We went and Most Handsome was very stressed in the horsebox and there, but, the positive is, he went beautifully in the saddle we tried. No naughtiness, no spinning and my goodness he showed off his fancy moves, when asked rather than his usual flashiness of just doing them and scaring me in the process.
So we paid up and then attempted to get back in the horsebox to come home. Most Handsome declined, firmly. Eventually the lovely wife of owner came to give me a hand, and between us and one of her staff, he agreed.
Later she sent me the nicest email saying how lovely it had been to see me again, telling me a funny story about her horse that once took 3 hours to go in the horsebox and that I shouldn't worry, and then, offering me parking at theirs so I could explore the huge woodlands around them. How nice is that?

On the theme of lovely service and nice people the diary ordered arrived - it was wrong - it was a journaling book. Nice but not what I was after so I sent a message saying so, received an apology and that the woman running the bay of e shop was simply exhausted looking after her mum and I should keep it and she would send the correct one. Bless her heart, she has sent me two with a note saying there is one for now and one for later (they are undated) as an apology. How lovely and kind (rave review left)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Finally another day was spent taking WattyDog to the neurologist. I asked lots of questions this time as I was prepared. I now know exactly what is wrong (herniated disc), what will and won't work and why. (He drew me diagrams on the white board and was better at explaining now I am over the shock I could listen).
I have declined to do surgery although that is not as bad as I feared, but, I have said I want to try conservative management.
WattyDog is therefore on strict crate rest. Well Watty is strict, the VNM lets him out because he looks so sad.
So, after a chat, we have made a pen in the living room and a pen in the dining room using boxes that my stock was delivered in. This way WattyDog can come out of crate when we are around and has a smallish "room" to hang out in. Feral kitten is to be shut in the office when he is out of crate to avoid chase scenarios! WattyDog happier with this arrangement as he is not in small crate for 24 hours day after day but he still has very limited room to move around and it is only when he is with us and we can be watchful for his impetuous enthusiasm to do things and make matters worse!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Oh! What a breakthrough on the saddle! 😊🤩👏🥳🎉 Definitely take up the offer of,park8ng and riding from there 😊
I’m chuckling at VNM falling for WattyDog’s sad eyes … 😂 Well done for setting up a better solution 😊
Smiling with you at the diary lady’s swift and professional response 😊

What a result with the saddle & the offer of parking so that you've got some fabulous sounding rides to explore. Did the very nice woman also volunteer to help load MH each time too???!Sending WattyDog "behave yourself" vibes.6

LOL @Brewerspride I think not (she did mention we need to practice that LOL)
@beanielou you are right, there are so many lovely people out there. A gratitude is that I notice them these days and appreciate them.
Quick trip to the butchers today in local village and then dropped off a bag of clutter at the local charity shop. Came home with a couple of large Kilner jars and some moisturiser as the shop is selling a local factory donation and the brand is really expensive so £5 spent in total. The jars will be used in the cupboard to store various stuff in bags, a quick review of finances says I must get back to "using up" so the meat from the butchers was part of that, I've a meal plan using slow cooker where possible as that ends the cant be bothered at the end of day feeling.
Tonight will be half a large sausage role (they are made in the butchers and are really large) with new potatoes and salad followed by strawberries and cream (yes that was an extravagance but I'm spending most of the day on year end accounts so I decided a teatime treat was worthwhile and, justifying wildly, cheaper than a bottle of wine!).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Mmm. Nice sounding tea. I've got sausage and lentil casserole in the slow cooker, with green beans might have some raspberries and cream afterwards. The raspberries are just coming through in significant numbers now. If anybody likes raspberries, I can recommend a variety called JoanJ. Massive dark red fruit, all the rain we had recently is helping in that respect. We planted 6 canes in 2021, 1 failed but the other 5 have spread along the bed significantly and we'll be overrun with fruit for several weeks. Jam making ahead.Make £2025 in 2025

Watty darling, you can afford strawberries and cream and a bottle of wine! We're here to make nice lives we can afford, stop rationing your enjoyment of small spends when you're never daft with big or constant spends. You have worked so hard mentally, physically, intellectually, and emotionally. This is your time to enjoy (within budget 😁🥂)https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase
