Can you get hold of some shoe covers? Saves taking your boots off. We keep some by the doors for that inevitable forgotten something when going out, or need to get to the toilet quickly when coming in. We re-use them, only going in the bin when the elastic goes or they get too grotty.

@Slinky those might be worth trying although i do know myself and the VNM and I wonder if we will manage / bother
 Worth a try though.
WattyDog has had his first acupuncture session today. I'm not sure he noticed, as she bought a tub of liver pate as a treat. He adored it, stole the entire tube from her and attempted to eat the whole thing, puncture the tub, tried to eat the lid and finished it
during his session.  I have bought him 6 tubs as a treat (@greenbee Stinky needs to try this stuff - arden grange liver pate treat)

Stinky doesn't need any more food thanks @Watty1! I'm glad WattyDog enjoyed his spa treatment

Stinky had half a day at daycare today and is shattered. Although I've cancelled next week's work trip, I'm attending the event virtually, so he's still having a holiday with his dog walker, just a shorter one. I expect him to be very quiet by the time he comes home after 3 days of full-on activity!3 -
Thank you on behalf of wattydog for the rugs and carpeting, one of the best things a doggy owner can do for their doggy 🐕 😊 😀

All of this is wholesome joy 😊 ❤️Watty1 said:The hall way has been carpeted! Well not quite, a most MSE carpet. WattyDog slips badly on the tiles and so another rug was purchased for the hallway (that Swedish store is a great source of cheap rugs). It was a bit too wide, which I knew when I bought it and not quite long enough but the point was to make somewhere WattyDog did not slip on a budget. .
I unrolled it and asked VNM if in amongst his tools was a knife so I could hack it about a bit to make it fit better. Appalled by my "hack it about a bit" comment VNM told me to leave him to it and he has very neatly and carefully cut all the edges around door frames and it looks fabulous!
I don't have carpets downstairs because of coming in and out of the yard and I know I do not remove my boots so the tiled floors work better (and are so quick to sweep hay etc up) - but - WattyDog needs rugs - and I must say I could really become a fan of carpets. The hallway looks bigger and lighter and it is so nice underfoot. (When it has been muddy booted I'm not so sure about it but for now I love it)https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

It has taken a long time to sort out an economical way of doing this and working out where he walks, and, he does prefer to lay on the cold tiled floor so I wanted to leave him a way of doing that, whilst making sure he can safely walk around and I think I have now worked that out.daisy_1571 said:Thank you on behalf of wattydog for the rugs and carpeting, one of the best things a doggy owner can do for their doggy 🐕 😊 😀

The acupuncture may have been a mistake. WattyDog clearly "feels" so much better. Whilst in his crate he now does his single ear splitting woof every few mins to remind me is in the crate on his own. Whilst out of the crate and in an area I have penned off, he brings me his kong and drops it on me repeatedly (until I put it in a cupboard) or runs between me and the VNM begging us to play.
Last night I confess I just gave him stuffed kongs to keep him quiet. I am delighted he "feels" better - but - he is still supposed to be on "strict crate rest" which may prove to be a challenge!

It's a nice problem to have, in a way. I'm glad he's feeling so much better!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Reminds me of Chloe's 3 weeks of 'strict crate rest' - she broke out on the first night!!
It was so stressful for both her and us, we agreed between Mr KK and I to just confine her to the house for the three weeks, which she seemed to accept as a compromise
