Love that @Alchemilla Charming Cob and i had a wander round the lanes and gossip with neighbour this morning.
Went to the yard to bring in last night and found a "treat bag" from Fell Pony Person with a card thanking me for supporting her and giving her the members tickets to the county show- fabulous and unexpected treats, horse treats for the boys, flowers for me, tea bags, a baby bottle of Fizz and a wonderful coaster that I adore.
Incredibly kind and delightful. The fizz was drunk to celebrate the end of the week while VNM had a can of cider and we sat in living room. New curtains have arrived so will get them hung later, and the mat @Suffolk_lass suggested is down for the kitchen and WattyDog now not slipping there either. He is also enjoying the @greenbee frozen snack suggestions
In financial news I have paid my tax bill due end July. Good to have that out of the way.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Oh how lovely with the vet fee and to write that on the bill. And the treat bag as well- you deserve it for being so kind. Have a great weekend!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k10

It just shows that being nice pays!
Stinky wants to know which is WattyDog's favourite. Although as Stinky is a labrador, he likes ALL food. And quite a lot of things most of us would not consider to be food...6 -

Nice weekend, caught up with work on Saturday although this involved messaging a lot of self employed people so this morning I see many have replied so that gives more work
Calculated finances for retirement dream and was so excited to find out "I had done it" until the VNM pointed out I had missed out a 0
I am away off that then LOL Then 50th party in the evening which was great but we did not stay long as trying not to leave WattyDog on his own for long.
WattyDog was improving but yesterday and this morning walking very badly again - this would be because he jarred himself chasing Miss Feral Kitten and then later was amusing himself quietly with his kong which rolled away and so he walked into the table whilst being totally focused on retrieving his toy. It is clear why he has the spinal back problems, I just wish he would be quiet and rest to give the meds the best chance of working. I really don't want to just crate him but I have warned him that the vet might mention this. The vet was very specific on total rest - and of course WattyDog is doing his own version of that. The interesting thing is that he is still really happy, which he was not pre steroids. I'm assuming as he is so happy and mischievous (he broke into the office again this morning) that he is adjusting to having a bad back, nerve pain and a dodgy leg.
Sunday rode Charming Cob then went to see Fell pony have a go at dressage. Five of us started a team to do 'team dressage' and four competed on Sunday. I was really sad I was not one of the four but Most Handsome saddle not fitting (think trying to walk in an uncomfortable pair of shoes) and Most Handsome a drama queen at the best of times so he is off games until a solution found. Then afternoon tea with 5 girlfriends at the local church. The afternoon tea is £4 a head, which is a bargain for pots of tea served in vintage china, 2 scones, cream and jam. We had extra so they asked us to pay £6 as by the end of the afternoon we had lots more scones, cream, jam and a never ending supply of pots of tea but we all decided to pay £10 as we had a lovely afternoon, everyone was so very friendly and the 6 of us laughed and chatted through 3 hours.
Found time to make some small energy balls and used up the dried apricots making some little "bites" using them with some nuts and oats and orange juice and also to just sit and enjoy my living room with no TV and the new curtains.

That sounds like such a nice time! And the afternoon teas were a bargain when you think how much you all got out of it.
I wonder if WattyDog's sudden downturn recently was due to jarring his spine and you just didn't happen to be there to see what set it off? Whatever the cause, it's lovely to hear he is mobile again (even if he's not supposed to be).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
