They sound like good gardeners! 😊
I think there is a ratio of personal benefit and satisfaction that is heavily skewed towards external help with gardening being the most beneficial … 🤔😊😉

verbena bonariensis is the other plant they added (google says) They have asked if they can put pictures on their website and I think that is why they added the plants to that bed. I think that is a win for us all so of course I said yes.
I think @KajiKita is right. So worth paying for the garden. I could have done the work, but not in one go (two experienced hard working chaps took 3 days and they just got on with it). I could not have done that.
Interestingly I would have said the cleaner was worth it, but, since firing her I've managed. Yesterday a new rug arrived for WattyDog. I realised his hind legs are better if he walks on something that gives traction rather keep slipping on the tiled floor so I have bought some cheap rugs. They will get trashed very quickly with the hay and the dirt (which was why the floor was tiled) but his comfort is important right now.
Anyway rug arrived so I cleaned the floor, then VNM hoovered and I dusted and removed cobwebs. It didn't take as long as I thought it would. Maybe not at the level of the previous excellent cleaner but matches 'she who was fired'. And I save £48 a week. The agency asked if I wanted someone to start next week, and I declined. I said WattyDog needs rest which is true and I don't want a cleaner hassling him around the living room. I'm not saying I'll not get a cleaner again but for now I just want WattyDog and I to have peace (goodness that woman I fired clearly rattled me).
So, putting that there, I should put the money I am saving on the cleaning agency into a savings account. So I need to sort out my ISA for this year.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!10 -
So pleased wd has rugs, slippy floors are not great for them to be walking on as the muscles end up permanently bunched up, a safe trackway around the house will be helping him so much

The garden work does sound like a massive win and I agree verbena bonariensis is lovely too and very hardy and spreads. If you can alliums are lovely too and looks after themselves but are obviously purple.
Hope WattyDog gets some rest even if he doesn't think he needs it. My sisters King Charles Spaniel has been slipping on her floors its whole life I do feel sorry for her.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Win win for you both.My old dogs ACL went and he couldn’t manage our floors, cue rugs everywhere to stop him sliding and keeping him safe, looked horrific but was worth it as we got an extra 6 months with him.Sealed pot challenge 822

Glad Wattydog a little better.
Watty you are doing a fab job of seizing the positives.

Sounds like good things are happening.I could stock a garden centre with all the verbena that's self seeded in our garden this year. I do love it, but there are limits! I must have pulled out hundreds, that and maybe 20 walnut tree seedlings. A very active squirrel buried them all over our garden last Autumn. They come off the tree in the pub garden behind ours, which is named after a tree, not a walnut tree, but doesn't actually have a tree of the type it's named after in its garden.Make £2025 in 2025
