Happy Birthday. It sounds like a wonderful day!
My grandfather was a GP, and an author. His prescription for health was "An apple a day, eaton on the back of a horse, while watching the sun rise." And it was something he tried to do as often as he could.
I'm quite fond of sunrises myself, and as the cats and dog like early mornings, I've seen more recently than I have for a while.5 -
Happy birthday! A ride in a forest on a wonderful horse on a sunny day in spring, with coffee and a VNM... what could be better?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Happy birthday Watty. A glass of fizz and an unexpected nice natter is a marvellous gift to yourself.
You are a much better person than me, I would be fuming, but I suppose it's also a birthday gift from the universe to have better direction as to which people one should allocate their energy and dedication towards, with no hard feelings!
You've done so much and come so far in a year. Here's to you 🥂2 -

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. So kind.
VNM finished the day by taking me to one of my favourite pubs for dinner, 2 glasses of wine, burger and chips and salad in a pub next to the church my parents married. I feel so blessed especially as my birthday dinner is really on Saturday evening - dinner and gift rolled into one as is something special.
This is indeed the nicest birthday in years. Yesterday I reflected on birthdays with PPH, they were often sad affairs with me in tears by the end although I always tried to put a positive spin on it.. Seems a different lifetime ago. No need for a positive spin now,
Breakfast this morning with a friend then I really must return to work.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!10
