The birthday dinner sounds absolutely fantastic 😊1
-
Watty1 said:My birthday gift and dinner was wonderful. Dinner on an old steam train, 1920s Pullman carriage, armchairs to sit in, table beautifully laid out and wonderful dinner: soup, then small course, sorbet, main course, cheese and biscuits, sweet trolley, coffee and mints. I concluded yesterday evening in the glamour of the train I was born in the wrong era (upstairs being more me than down LOL)
We had such a great time, we would go again. Very late home and shattered this morning but I have just had the best birthday time, I've managed to string the celebrations out, and finished today with my usual Sunday ride on CC and gossip with neighbour and then coffee and the last of the birthday cake.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thank you for the source @greent I looked them up, very encouraging and some nice prompts. I realised how short on time I am and all the ideas sounded great but overwhelming so when I have done the April gratitude I might just pick one and stick it in my journal. I'm finding just a few mins focus is really helping my mood and helping me see how much I really do have in my life. Which when at my lowest I did not see at all.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Back at my desk on Monday morning. My work emails do not work at all, the button to access them has vanished. I will call the support chap in a bit and see if he can fix it. I feel I am working at the very edge of my capabilities with tech much of the time these days. Really frustrating as i had a lot to do today but no email is going to make doing anything really hard.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Hope the tech issue is quickly and easily sortable and the rest of your day goes well.2

@greent @Watty1 thank you for those pics! I've screenshot them all and will do one at a time..I always do my ten gratitudes for the day as I am drifting off to sleep, I find my sleep is not restless then as I drift off to good happy thoughts even if the day wasn't great. But these would be a good way to mix it up!

Very frustrating about the emails Watty. I hope it sorts out soon but I'm thinking along the same lines as @debtfreewannabe321: what else can you do with the time. I'd go and have a chat with the horses or throw a ball for WattyDog... the emails won't know.
I agree about working at the edge of capability though. I get frustrated when my computer tries to push AI on me. I know I'm using it all the time (or is it using me?) but if I'm composing a piece of writing for instance, I don't want to give up on sixty years of honing my mental skills and let AI do it for me. I know AI is a whole field of skills in itself, but I want to keep my brain alive, not dependent on pressing keys. And it's all moving really fast, so yesterday's skills don't get me very far when things get updated.

The emails got fixed.
I sat in the sun with a coffee.
And sitting in the sun, I thought I was done with work. Not all work. The course has been great and although it is a lot of work (I'm rewriting the bits I was not so pleased with on the beta run) and I'm happy with some aspects but the relentless day to day is now too much. I've done so well building up the company since leaving PPH but I'm tired, my shoulder and neck really hurts, early nights are not miraculously fixing the tiredness and I feel I am done.
This "done" feeling started on my birthday. I need a plan.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I'm convinced we all need to build in R&R. I feel a lot better for reducing my hours, though it doesn't pay much! While I can get by, I'm happier this way.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
