Just laughing over here! I raided my stash over Christmas and New Year - one for the bedside lamp, one for the loft, one, I can't remember. I know that was the last, but as I plan to replace the bedside light I think I can recover the loft one (still in its box!). I was also able to show our friends the model number of the one they have been searching for (it's an old-style halogen two pin thing and the new ones are too big for the space). Then I found and sent them a link to a seller on the bay - smug mode.debtfreewannabe321 said:I fitted a new light in DD room over Christmas. I have TWO boxes of lightbulbs 💡 💡 I moved to this house. Not a single one in the boxes fit her light 🤦🏻♀️ ordered a box of two so now I have added another (the extra one) box to the already full boxes of lightbulbs 🤣
@debtfreewannabe321 - you could offer them on the Bay??Save £12k in 2026 #2 I have banked £865.15 in January against a £10k target The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here

As for light bulbs, have you seen how expensive dimmable ones are. The next electrician I have in is going to be asked to remove the dimmer switch. The new ones actually fade over time too.

Selling old lightbulbs on ebay is worth looking into. I had some packets of lamps for vintage Christmas tree lights that I sold for £40.

Only on MSE would anyone be so interested in lightbulbs

Phone engineer back to see if we can sort out phone and internet problems. Everything works work but there is a question mark over having been mis-sold equipment in that I and all the technical team think I have been but the sales team do not want to reduce/refund and keep telling me that I need all I have for it to work - except - half the kit is in a box (rolls eyes). Very nice coffee with engineer and we discussed Paul McCartney who he saw at Christmas and I saw pre-covid with PPH.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Just back from the final visit to the care home with the VNM. Retrieved her purse from the safe, there was cash inside but also a collection of foreign coins too - I did smile and wonder if she was hoping for one final day trip to Europe.
I have mentioned to him and his daughter the need to look everywhere and this was reinforced as, at some time, something had been hidden behind a picture that she had taken with her into the home (judging by the frame whatever it was had been removed a long time ago).
I do feel exhausted.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
