That's so good to hear! The freedom to go out and do things without being haunted by the possibility of the person from the past - that's a great thing.
Good news on the gate too.
I don't know when tractor light-ups became a thing, but I am wishing I'd seen the one on our High Street now. Apparently it was worth attending. Possibly they've been going for fifty years and I just never noticed.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

we have had a tractor thing at our local small (closed) airport
no adverts seen for it, would have loved to have gone along to support them, plans to build many houses around the outside of our village

Brilliant news re the tractor Xmas and fact pph wasn’t even a thought !The 2031 deadline is near enough to wait on it - he definitely deserves you not giving him any grace given how he behavedDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

We had a tractor display weekend before last. Was a great show, 130 vehicles took about 30 minutes to go by. Everybody had a good time and they smashed their target for raising money for charity. Last year there were 98, so it's becoming even more popular, this was the third year.

Wow it seems a light up tractors is a thing in lots of places. How fantastic.
Christmas Eve. Don't really feel that it is Christmas for some reason despite the trees being up and the lights being up up. Perhaps because it is has been so busy re work in this last couple of weeks. This year it is just me and the VNM and I don't actually even have a plan for a festive dinner. I explained that and he said it was just fine what did we have in and we could eat that and watch a festive movie. He did however in the hunt for electric fencing connectors find a bottle of champagne in the tack room/store room. Which was a complete surprise. I asked if he had bought it and he promised he hadn't, it was just there under a pile of assorted "stuff". That room really needs a clear out in the new yearMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!12 -
Bonus champagne, I love it.I don't have a festive dinner plan either, just one of my slightly nicer dinners. The last couple of years I have enjoyed Christmas Day until the part where I needed to spend ages in the kitchen so am changing that up a little.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Ooh, you have a champagne mine! What fun! One of my sons used to have a coat that he decided was magic because he kept finding money in it that he didn't remember using - so take a clean wheelbarrow when you clear out the tack room and put some straw in to bed down future champagne finds.
Have a lovely Christmas.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
