@Katiehound, the shrug is indeed from a pattern - It's called 'Let's Go Party Shrug' from Kerry Jayne Designs an online site. It starts from newborn size up age 9-10, and has a choice of long or short sleeves, plus optional bow or flower embellishments. I've used several of her patterns.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/405

These are on the site, but apart from hats, as you say, that's it.
Her main focus is kids/babies/hats - which is great for using up stash, lol.

Hello All
Just checking in.
Its been an eventful few months here and I am drained so my crafting mojo has been at an all time low.
FIL was hospitalized on my birthday again back in July with pneumonia and a chest infection, then as he was clearing them, was moved to his cancer ward where the whole ward contracted Covid. In the process he was given a chest scan and told that his chemo hasn't worked and they cannot do any more for him.
Middle of August we were given two days to rearrange the house because they were going to release him from hospital to come home for palliative care. So that was like a whirlwind of moving furniture, and they threw so much information at my MIL I think it fried her brain a bit. We managed to get him home, my MIL living room is now his bedroom, he has breathing apparatus, ventilators and a hospital bed in there and because he requires oxygen 24/7 - hes almost bed bound now and Marie Curie came this week about his care and offering help to my MIL.
Doctors have told us there is a likeliness that he wont see this Christmas.
But I am trying my best to stay focused and take each day as it comes, I am trying to get into my head that this Christmas may be a hard one, but it may also be the most important one yet.
Oh I forgot in the midst of that my 18yo niece announced her pregnancy. She is due in January,
So DD went back to school yesterday, I have cleared off my craft desk,
I visited my grandmother last month with the intention of giving her quite a few stickers and card making bits and it somehow back fired on me because she palmed stuff on me and I came back with more than I left with! I must learn this sorcery!
I have been looking at all the beautiful makes.
I am also getting ideas for baby items.
I really need to have a look in my wool box.
And get making some Christmas cards so they are done and out the way!

Hugs @sammy_kaye18, we went through something similar at the beginning of this year. It takes more from you than you realise so cut yourself all the slack you need, and if crafting is your escape / soother, may it bring you joy.KK xAs at 15.05.25:

Thanks all.
I am finding myself looking on crafting pages a lot more lately as I think its my escape from everything going on but helping the mental health too.
I did find some nice Christmas cards to make which used washi tape and then remembered my grandmother gave me a book of Christmas paper so I may cut that into strips and use the same way.
Also joined a Christmas forum because I love the season too much and that has been making me happy too.
Also received randomly a second set of navy blue bedding (I ordered one set for my daughter but a second free set has mysteriously arrived) so I am going to turn them into a set of curtains for her for her room. She wants to paint it soon so when her brother and father are away in October we will do it up for her and I think the blue will go nicely since its the color scheme shes picked.
Also planning to use some wool up as well since my 18yo niece is expecting her first baby in January (a little boy she plans to call Arlo) so I think some little hats will be in order as I know my grandmother (her great grandmother) is busy knitting some little cardigans and jumpers.Making Changes To Save My LifeCurrent weightloss - 2lbs (week 1)6 -
last year someone on here posted a hand written pattern for delightful knitted baby bootees- they looked like little boots- I made a few pairs and they were great.
It was @ Plumduff55 who posted
they would be great for @sammy_kaye18 to make! for the baby

Oh wow @Sammy_Kaye18 that's a lot on your plate at once. Matching curtains sounds like a great idea though!
I haven't made anything in so long I'm not sure I remember how to! Worked extra shifts over the busy summer holidays and seemed to catch every cold going 🤧
Attempted to carry on with house/insurance sorting in the evenings/days off. But I'm just exhausted now!5
