Harood the hedgehog done!  Some material and lots of thread used up.  Plus 3 buttons. Doesn't make a big dent lol.  Might make 2 large bags to carry/store them in

Lessc like a womble now.  Lots of darts were needed in the waistcoat (along with a large insert in the back) to make it fit his rather hedgehoggy shape  😆

It has taken me 2 weeks to try and save 2 pairs of trousers. 2 nearly new polo shirts and a pair of shorts. The trousers had bkeach stains on them so had been relegated to housework ones. Tried dying them all with the new capsule machine dye. Followed instructions but they came out all blotchy. First time of using this method and first fail. I found i had some hand dye in the cupbaord but it was still navy and couldnt cover the damage done. So I decided that I now had nothing to lose. Found some of the old style dylon dye in black online. So fabric painted the bleach stains black. Let it dry and then dyed the lot in 2 seperate loads. Whilst wet it looks like I have covered all blotches. Once dry we will know for sure. Fingers crossed. Will update tomorrow. 😊

One thing you can try is to cover the bleach marks with a matching sharpie or permanent marker. I have also used acrylic paint on a garment that didn't matter- actually worked quite well but I used whatever it was (shorts?) for dog walking so not high fashion!

  • Thanks @katiehound. I borrowed a bit of fabric paint from craft group so no cost there. Seems to have done the trick. All of our comfy, go to clothes look like new. Saved us a bit on buying new even though I did spend £20.00on dye. Will complain about the new machone version and see if I can get a refund but doubtful
