    Catching up - happy birthday

And little good can be said for soya mince. I will try currying it when I am feeling a little better.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Thank you everyone! I've continued with it today, opening the rest of my presents and cards and having a slice of birthday cake for lunch. :) I have lots of books and chocolate and another voucher with which to indulge myself. Also nice texts from friends. :)

The Wednesday job this morning was quite interesting: neither of my previous clients turned up but I have a new one. So I'm staying! I dawdled back via shops and bought some bulbs for the garden that were being sold off for 10p a pack: tulips, garlic and onions. Also some bits and pieces for cleaning.

This evening I had more of the soya Bolognese I made the other day, and used some lentil pasta which was remarkable for the way it broke down after a few minutes in hot water. There's still some of each to finish but I won't be repeating the experiment. DH had a fishcake as he wouldn't have got on with what I had.

DH was well enough to go to his group from church and I went to mine, and that's about it for today, apart from me being proud of sticking the little rubber 'feet' back on my kitchen scales. Turns out they are magnetic so I stuck the scales on the fridge where they are neither use nor ornament. I don't know why these little 'feet' are attached so badly: I've had to buy new scales in the past because they become unstable as soon as the 'feet' go missing. And the package made a point of emphasising that the magnets mean they will hold to metal surfaces, but I don't really know why you would want to as surely most kitchen surfaces aren't metallic?
