I hope your husband feels better soon Cherryfudge and you don't get anything else that will keep you under the weather. I had chicken pox at 3 and I was in isolation in hospital as the sores got infected. I took it upon myself to do dot to dot with purple and green felt tips, but the felt tips of the 80s were rather toxic and so colouring in the actual sores wasn't my brightest idea! 🤦🏾♀️ But it was fun in the hospital, even though it got a bit boring once I'd read everything.
Thanks for always being such a great source of wisdom and so supportive. I really do appreciate it. And thanks for the mention, that really touched me 💖.x

Thank you @alt80 and @Keedie, DH has been noticeably better today. Still a bit of a temperature and a cough, but nothing like as bad as yesterday and the eye has improved too. He managed a walk this afternoon and had a medical appointment this morning and has coped okay with both. He's going to stay off work tomorrow, which I think is wise as it then gives him till Monday to recover before he's back at the coal face.
I got a single load of laundry done, then not much else. In the afternoon instead of going to the shops, I dozed off but I felt better for it and work was again quite busy. Two of us had to cover three areas due to three people going off last-minute sick. DH gave me a lift home as it was showery.
DD sent a photo of their newly-decorated nursery and I sent birthday greeting to their dog. She's four today.
An NSD on my part though I think DH bought himself some medicine. Thank goodness he's found an anti-inflammatory that works and that he can use. I'd never have guessed what it would be. He can't take ibuprofen or aspirin and always said paracetamol has little effect, but he could have co-codamol. However that can only be taken for three days so he's been having a dose at bed time only. Then he remembered that he used to buy liquid paracetamol and break open the tablets to pour the contents out. He's now dosing himself on the children's version (the pink stuff in a bottle with a syringe) and it really seems to be helping.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thursday was quite tiring, partly because DH woke up coughing about 2am and I heard him despite sleeping in the guest room. I suppose at least we have slept better without disturbing each other as much as we would in the same room. However, today he's generally been much improved from where he was a couple of days ago.
I helped with the toddlers' group this morning then spent a while doing practical admin for the Sunday morning group (like tidying up the stickers box!). Then I nipped to the supermarket because I had some good discounts about to go out of date. £13.42 spent. DH has also been to the shops: £7.45.
DH made tuna pasta for our lunch then we moved the fridge freezer into the lounge preparatory to the new lino going down tomorrow. A neighbour helped DH move the cooker, washing machine and dishwasher while I was at work later. The house looks a total wreck with things all down the hall, general untidiness in the dining room especially and now the fridge in the lounge! I've texted the lady who was supposed to be coming here as my course mentor, and asked if we can meet at a coffee shop somewhere as it's so bad. I'd just be thinking about the state of it!
Money-wise, I decided to cancel the renewal of the proofreading membership as I've never been able to bring myself to start one of their courses. Perhaps I should take that as some sort of subconscious reasoning? I would struggle to do a lot more at present and I don't think I'm going to get more able to start a course this year. Then I find I have to email them so I'm leaving that till tomorrow. I've renewed my garden centre membership: it's only £12 and that's a free drink each, each month so a free 'date' and time to talk. I tried to use a garden centre voucher to pay but the site won't accept the 19-digit number. At least it will accept 18 digits, just not the 19th.
Three hours at work this evening, once again dividing 7 hours' work between us over three hours. So many people off sick! And I hear a rumour this morning of a 'nasty virus' which probably describes what DH has been suffering with. One of his colleagues has it too.
And that reminds me I need to send in my timesheet tomorrow.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I was up till 2... cleared and bleached a few kitchen surfaces so I feel it's a bit more orderly today. DH was up (coughing) before me and has brushed out the kitchen (had to Vax it last night to remove the water that spilled when moving the washing machine and dishwasher). We're now waiting to hear from the chap who does floors. I thought they wrote it in the book as this morning but now they're said they'll ring us this morning to let us know what time they're coming.
Meanwhile I've washed my hair to face the day.I have to find out how to cancel this proofreading thing then get to the church cleaning session, followed somewhere by lunch then meeting with my mentor followed immediately by work. At a stretch I could take a packed lunch and change of clothes but I'll see how time goes as it would be nice to touch base at home.
Anyway, it was frosty last night and lovely and sunny now with a cloudless sky, so I can do anything.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It's so chaotic when things are being decorated isn't it? Hopefully it's all sorted now and you can then move things back into place?Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

Absolute chaos, @Keedie! However the flooring people arrived later morning and it's all looking nice now.
One of the neighbours helped DH sort out how to go about straightening the cabinet round the sink, which had shifted when the old flooring came out, but that job can't be finalised till the appliances are back in, which is waiting on another neighbour who said he'd help but is out this evening.
I had my end-to-end day: the morning cleaning wasn't too bad and I finished in time to meet up with my mentor. We went for coffee and apart from the café being really hot (remember those days? When you could be too hot?) I think that went reasonably well. She is very pleasant, learned, somewhat directive and can probably see through a brick wall.
I didn't have sight of a clock so we ended up running late but she gave me a lift home and waited while I threw my bags down, got changed, grabbed my work bag and ran back to her car for a lift to work, arriving only 2 minutes late. Same work pattern as yesterday and it went quickly.
I bought lunch while I was out due to our kitchen being out of use. It was only a sandwich and yogurt but I must have chosen well as I wasn't hungry all day, though I had a biscuit from my stash while at work.
Pay is in, but I've not checked as for some reason I'd not put my January payslip in on time and will have to add that to February's. I can do that tomorrow. I know there is about the equivalent of a month's pay in the account now that it's only really used for utilities and Council Tax, so nothing should bounce but I'll check anyway, and I'll do that tonight just in case.

Sunshine. Good start to the day - and hopefully to getting back to normal in health and habitat. A has just been round to help get the heavy appliances back in and I have two projects in mind. First is to clean out the larder shelving as access is good while the fridge freezer is away from its usual space. Second is to defrost the freezer, but that might wait.
DH got out of breath shifting the appliances so he's taking a few minutes to recover. The effects of the virus aren't going to disappear quickly, though he's a bit better each day.

Thanks @KeepOnKnitting, it's taken it out of both of us but we're on the mend. I didn't have it as badly as DH but he has reduced immunity so that's not surprising. He isn't coughing as much today, which is good.
We've got bits and pieces done. All appliances apart from the fridge freezer are back in place, and I've cleaned and rearranged three of the larder shelves. I'm okay doing it but took breaks as I'm still recovering from the energy spend yesterday. A few bits and bobs thrown out/finished/put ready to donate.
Dinner was from the chippy, so I think £9.50 (we share).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

This morning we both made it to church - DH wasn't sure if he should but he said the singing actually helped control the cough. I was helping with the kids rather than leading so it was an easy morning for me.
We've not done much with the day apart from that. DH had a bit of a walk in the afternoon and I dozed off but was woken by him having another bout of coughing. He's been agonising over whether to try going to work tomorrow or get a sick note, and I'm encouraging him to stay off till he's better. He's still getting a temperature from time to time so I don't think he should attempt a day working. His work is quite intense and I think he needs to save his energy to get over this virus. I'm also feeling post-viral myself. The temperature is okay but I get tired easily and over the last couple of days I can't think of words, or rather, I can - a string of the wrong ones. I did a bit of reading up and I think it will soon pass but I need to pace myself when I can.
I've not really progressed on the kitchen but made a chicken chasseur which used up some frozen ingredients and left enough for DH when I'm at work. We had mince pies and custard for pudding - in March! I bought them super-cheap after Christmas.
DH bought liquid paracetamol again, so not a completely NSD, but it seems to work better for him than tablets (and is more expensive, but I'll allow that if it helps).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
