Blowing an absolute hoolie here; glad I swam yesterday.
Spent a lot of last night in WAC for no particular reason, so had a lie-in rather than do a gym swim.
Admin day today:
- got down 2016 assessment documents from loft (I have to keep all referral forms and answer sheets for 6 years) and that is in a bag ready to be shredded/burned.
- went through my pension file and added to the shredding pile as why have I kept pension forecast from 2004-2010?
- worked my way down my flagged emails so I have now renewed my professional insurance, printed and checked cc statement, marked annual conferences on the calendar and noted any training.
- rang uni to confirm they don't have any bookings for me tomorrow. Not unhappy about that; the rate it is raining I'd need a canoe to get there.
- filled in most of a lasting power of attorney form. Mr N and I have been talking about doing them for ages and not got round to them (yes we do have wills); as he is going on a 3 week holiday without me at the end of the month, I thought it was worth getting my act together in case I keel over while he's away or vice versa. Apparently they take weeks to register, but at least I've set the process in motion.
Mr N has finished all the 'man stuff' in the conservatory so tomorrow we can finally organise plants and furniture. He's gone for a well-earned fish & chips with some bike friends (not on the bikes in this weather) and I've decided to have a night home alone. With any luck that will involve food, a film, some drumming practice and checking how much more CPD I have to put on the computer as my assessment certificate is due for renewal soon and they need to see what I've been up to.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Hi all
The boys have gone home. After a short stint at the paid stuff I came home so that we could take them to Prezzo to celebrate DS2s birthday then DS1 left to go back to work and we took DS2 back to his flat in Leeds. We got there to find the roof leaking again and damage to DSs bedroom ceiling, in fact I think there is a real possibility that the ceiling could come down. The flat is tiny and there is no way of moving his bed, the ceiling in the lounge doesn't look great either. His flatmates Mum has been onto the council and she is going to ring them again tomorrow. Felt very sorry for him.
So we are now home to a very quiet house. Have put more washing on, cleaned the fire out and eaten some leftovers. First full day back tomorrow but only 3 days and it's weekend again.
Need to think about my packed lunch tomorrow and make a meal plan.10 -
V. breezy day here on the south coast, in the yellow warning weather zone but not in the amber one thank goodness - I was a tad worried about 2-3 pm when the minimum 50ft height trees at the bottom of my garden (on someone else's land!) were seriously swaying in a way I hadn't seen them do so before... But, we've survived...
I have today:- Finalised my Mr T order due tomorrow
- Cleaned both fridges and thrown away out of date stuff ready for the delivery tomorrow
- Did some essential admin which ended up being delayed because, somehow, the company I was on the phone to managed to order a reset for my password without letting me know so I couldn't log on. Did the 'send me a link to change my password' biz but nothing came through. It may be that they have a v. old email account. I have asked the question about which email address it was sent (over the phone), but haven't a response yet..

most of my day has been spent knitting and attempting to shift the pain in my left hip…probably arthritis, I’ve had it before and i blame the damp weather. I ended up taking parrots and ibuprofen (which i’m now not supposed to take but i did have it with food) and applying a HWB. Did the trick. When i get hip pain it does make me feel wretched and i also had pain going down the leg.
DD and I have binged Mr Bates v the PO. awful, just awful.

DD and I have binged Mr Bates v the PO. awful, just awful.Sorry to hear that Valli. A has osteoarthritis in both hips (and knees and spine) and he finds it very painful too, so I sympathise. Good that the painkillers stopped it though. After tea I washed up, fiddle-faddled around then it was time to make our evening meal and wash up. I watched the last 45 mins of a programme on BBC4 about the early days of Egyptology and the excavation of the tomb of a scribe and priest - it was really interesting. Did the pre-bedtime eye routine, set-up A's breakfast things, cleaned my teeth and will go to bed shortly.8 -
return arranged.. should be a reasonable amount to be reunded.I need to send OH to do a different return which willbe another bit refunded.I have 1 item to be posted.. I shall endeavour to do that tomorrow.
maltesers and horlicks ready for the WAC .. and ... I just ate half a box of maltesers with wheat AND milk and I only just realised.. I think I am tired.. The milk is seeming to be less of an issue than the wheat but the eggs and chicken are an absolute no go.. I will do better.. tomorrow..
Squeak has her first CBT session in the morning so we shall see how that goes.
I've started knitting mittens for my big girls for christmas.. black with rainbow glittery threads..

Morning all xx
Slept OK. Don't want to go to work. (I'm with you YL). I stopped a colleague from grabbing her coat and leaving yesterday morning ( weird feeling as it's usually me that reaches tipping point) Of course there wasn't a c0ckw0mble in the building. So I got another team manager to come down. Toxic supervisor was the cause so I couldn't go to her for support. And today the absentees will descend to find out what went on and why. And the smoke and mirrors will begin. So, no I don't want to go to work either. And the drive home last night was horrendous. Wet, wet, wet.
But, here I am: up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch (cheese and crackers again - my fridge is like Mary Poppins bag!), eaten breakfast and supped my brew. I overcame the temptation to turn off the alarm and go back to sleep. Sooooo tempted.
P is back in hospital. They're now saying it's not his heart!!! And he can't keep going to A&E for blood transfusions....ermm find the cause of the severe anaemia then. 🤷♀️🤦♀️. His iron count is dropping so fast - they gave him a transfusion on Christmas Day and he went back in yesterday for two more units. 'You're severely anaemic and we don't know why' is NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Happy New Year eh? Same 💩 different year is all.
To end on a positive note: it's Pop's birthday tomorrow. 89 years young. And he'll fly out to Benidorm with Babs on Monday, and stay for 8 weeks. I'll call on my way home tonight to drop off his card - I've put euros in it 🙂
Better go. Dredging up my flylady super powers to face the day. 🦸♀️
Have a good one

Morning all,
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Check direct debits
Work out a budget for this month as it's going to be a tight one
Wash up the dishes, dry and put away
Pop into town as need to go to the chemist (think I slept awkwardly as I woke with a sore shoulder so going to get muscle cream)
Move the dining table back through to the kitchen, we move it into the sitting room for festive meals.
Do 2 loads of laundry
Tumble dry the laundry, fold and put away/add to ironing pile once dry
HHI (need to iron school/work gear needed for rest of this week)
Sort out clothes, bags, etc for tomorrow as the kids are back at school, DH and I are back at work.
Water the plants
Get an early night as back to the grind for everyone tomorrow.
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today, I best get a move on as seems to be a lot for me to do.7
