Happy new year everyone.
I send my love and all my spare spoons to those who need them right now - and no, I don't need them back xxx
@Natty - nice new car!
@pigpen - I mention you especially because I am (and always have been over the years) in awe of you and how you manage your DH, your DC, your extended family and their partners, your budget, your pets, yet you are still able to add a sense of humour into the mix while your have your own health conditions to manage xxx You Seriously Rock! - Don't let anyone try to convince you that you don't...
Flying wise today? I played Widow Twankey today by doing a load of WM and TD for DD because they haven't had their WM plumbed in yet in their new home. I also unexpectedly, have another load to do tomoz... I'm happy to do the second load but I may need to set some boundaries against the possibility of yet another load with 24-48 hours...
I also did a load of ironing and put it all away. And swept the living room and kitchen floors xxx
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Piggers I echo what Soappie says.. I'm always in awe of how you do it. I moan about not being able to keep my house decluttered etc and there's only me and DH, and here's you doing all you do. Although I can't delegate most of it is all on me.. I'd love to know how you do it all..even a little bit..😉Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Errr trying to think what I've done today apart from walk the pup, pick up after the pup and the Banjidog, two loads of washing washed and TD'd, dinner cooked and then tea cooked. I did look at the ironing but thought my arm hurt too much..so I rested and watched back to back Will and Grace when DH had his snooze this afternoon.
Dinner from lunchtime - it was still part of all the Christmas food in the freezer 😀
Going to settle pup and dog down then watch Gogglebox while scoffing warm cherries and ice cream for pudding 😉
Have a coffee meet up in the morning which I'm looking forward to then need to nip into town to drop off my library books. Might get some new ones, I'll decide tomorrow 😀
Aaaah just had to rescue a chewed pen from the pup...he's now trying to bury into the sofa that I'm sitting on. 😆

Happy New Year to everyone.@pigpen sorry to hear about all your health and family problems; hope that chest infection clears up soon. My brother has had one for weeks but it does seem to getting a bit better now. On another topic, I was thinking about Yorkshire curd cheesecake today, which you can't get down here. Did you ever have maids of honour from Skelton's, when it was open. I used to love those and my mother would always get them in when I went home and give me some to take back with me. I know that Skelton's closed a few years ago but I read that one of the family has opened a shop in Hessle and they sell them again there. If I can get up to my brother's I will try and get some.@Asparklierblonde I can't leave A for too long but it would be great to meet for coffee (or tea) one morning when you're in London, if it fits in with your work schedule. Re the woman on My Yorkshire Farm (I've only seen bits of it so don't know her name) I'm sure that sort of thing is just for the cameras.@Natty nice car, and nice meal!I'm one of the love Christmas, but don't like NYE brigade. Even when I was young and the future was full of (potentially positive) possibilities I wasn't keen. We always spend it with a couple of friends but not really to celebrate it; it's just an excuse to have get together. Our friends came over for a meal last night and that went well. By prior agreement they left before midnight (although not as early as we all thought) so at midnight I was washing up and tidying things away. A put on the radio just before midnight so we heard the chimes and had a hug, which was the limit of our celebrations lol. By the time I'd finished it was 2.30 but at least I didn't wake up to a mess. I even washed the tablecloth and napkins overnight. This morning I got up late and at first felt a bit rough, but soon perked up. I popped out to get the paper and read the electricity meter, which for some bizarre reason is in the basement. Came back up and input the figures online, tried to do the same with the gas but couldn't get the site to work. Helped A to do some online banking, made us a coffee, made lunch and washed up.I rang my brother and then my friend Judy, who moved back to Manchester a couple of years ago to care for her elderly father. He had a feeding tube inserted just before Christmas and she is hoping he can come home soon, after having been in hospital since October. Before that can happen, she has to get the care package reinstated and both she and the carers need to be trained on feeding her father via the tube. We were talking for two and a half hours so it was nearly time to make supper by the time I came off the phone.Made supper and now A has finished on the phone to his brother and cousin I will wash up.In 2024 I would like not to get stressed about my inability to do everything and try to use the little spare time I have more fruitfully. Thank you all for welcoming me to your group and being so friendly and helpful.7

and @Soappie.. Making me blush!!
Honestly.. I don't do it all.. my house is a swamp of stuff.. I really need to get a handle on it soon before we all disapear under a pile of teddy bears and cardboard boxes!!
I've got the DW loaded and dinner cooked today and 2 girls bathed ( I said go get a bath and they did)
Tomorrow we have the pantomime at 2pm.
Wednesday Squeak has her cbt appointment so OH can take her since he is off.. and we will start de-christmassing the house.. I am taking down the lights and washing the dust off and putting them away this year.. they have been up 3 years so I think it is time!!
Thursday OH is still on about going to his mothers house to remove some stuff.. I am trying to stall him.. not only because I don't want to go but because if he brings anything at all back we simply have nowhere to put it!! We have loads of stuff from his stepdads sister which is beautiful stuff but I just cannot fit anything else in here much as I might try.. including a huge ancient clock, a dozen of his pottery things from school and a chest of drawers he said he wanted.. I just cannot make space. I also have a table to collect from my mothers.. buzzards.. I had forgotten about that! I'm going to discuss going at half term instead.. I just can't face 4 hours in the car and just being there. I don't see why there is such a rush all of a sudden.

I will have my daughter ask if she still has the recipe next time she sees her.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8

Have made progress with my banking spreadsheet…not completed yet but not far off.
Enjoyed Mr Bates v the PO but also got angry at the injustice of it…so many families had their lives ruined.

Omg I don't know why but I read you had done your baking spreadsheet Valli 😀😀 I did wonder why you was doing a baking spreadsheet instead of a banking one...

Ooh a London flycoffee meet, can I come?
- Had a lovely lake swim this morning with a friend, a bit nippy but the sun was out.
- Went to garden centre - Mr N and I have sort of fallen into this habit on NY day. Had coffee and a scone then bought lots of half price Christmas cards and some sparkly things on sticks which I can use in flower arrangements next year.
- did a load of washing up as there seemed a lot from last night's roast that wouldn't work in the DW. Did a general kitchen tidy.
- helped Mr N tidy the light cable in the conservatory, attaching it to the ceiling (not easy with UPVC as the little sticky cable holders wouldn't stick).
- finally watched White Christmas!!! followed by Harry Potter...don't accuse me of being an intellectual!
- started sorting out January birthday cards.
Think that's about it.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

Think that's about it.Of course you can.Maybe we could aim for just after Easter - sometime in April.
Went into the bathroom to discover water dripping in through the skylight again. Clearly the fix they did last week wasn't a fix after all.8
