Morning all (again!)
Gave up on sleep in the end. The wind has really picked up which doesn’t help! We are forecast heavy rain (what’s new?!) from noon so I need to get as much outdoor stuff done as I can this morning, in addition to the paid stuff. As a bare minimum I must:
- Return something to neighbouring farmer
- Visit food waste hub
- Buy more paint
- Deliver FB marketplace sale
- Wave bye to the ewes 😢
- Drop off soft plastics recycling at Co op
- 7.5 hours paid stuff
- keep kids fed, watered and happy
- Have a shower
- List something for free on FB
I think that’s plenty to be getting on with! Usual jobs of laundry, fire clearing and lighting, bed making etc to do as well. Will pop back on later xx9 -
Quick hello 👋
Back to work. Anxiety through the roof. So annoying.
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast (aka forced it down), and supped a brew.
I'll put out the recycling and feed the birds before I set off.
Things I should have done at the weekend but forgot:
Sew up hem on work trousers
Put window washer stuff in Feargal
I could do with a note book and pen attached to me somehow to write these things down as I notice them...🤔 Aide memoir sort of thing.
Better go. Wishing everyone a good day

ASB we already have your heavy rain here in North Devon! I'm supposed to go out this morning for errands, but my raincoat is in the car which is at the garage for MOT! One is to post JF's DLA form, the other is down to my sisters house and back up the hill. Going to get soaked!

Hello all
Happy New Year! I am slinking back in after a long absence. RL just all got a bit too much! The house is a mess but I started strong this morning with the following before paid stuff:
gym workout
1 x wm done and on airer
cleaned downstairs loo including skirtings and sorted the medicine cabinet, smallest room done lol!
cleaned utility room
vac through ground floor
mopped kitchen floor! Still need to do a kitchen deep clean but this was desperate!
litter tray emptied, scrubbed and refreshed
2nd load currently swishing through wm
dishwasher emptied, refilled and set going again, bit of a backlog here!
Hoping you are all well, I’ve caught up on some posts and am sending all good wishes for 2024.
Back later x9 -
Morning all, I enjoyed a nice long sleep today as off work today and tomorrow.
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Open some windows for some fresh air.
Wash up the dishes, dry and put away.
Find paperwork for doing the tax return
Wipe down the worktops.
Take food for today out of the freezer to defrost.
Defrost the main freezer
Check direct debit payments
Go out for a walk if it stays dry (it's currently cold but dry)
Spend some time with DH and the kids
Sort out some of the diary for this year
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today. Hope everyone has a lovely day.9 -

Afternoon all.I've had a pretty productive day. This morning, after doing the eye drops I went to the shops for a few bits, including getting some of those cheap reading glasses for A from Boots as yesterday he broke the arm of the pair he had. I collected his prescription from another chemist and called in at the GP as the hospital have changed one of his his eye medications and the supply they gave him has nearly run out and the surgery hadn't added it to his regular prescription list so he couldn't order it online. The last time I was in there a patient with mental health problems went berserk just as we were leaving and started shouting and swearing and throwing the furniture around. He was right next to us doing all this and poor A, who walks at a snail's pace and so couldn't get out quickly, was terrified. Fortunately today it was a haven of calm.Came home and stripped the bed and put it on to wash and then dry. Ironed a pair of A's trousers and the napkins from NYE. Contacted Green Flag to renew our breakdown cover. We paid £79 last year but this year they quoted £97. I know that everything has gone up but I thought a 23% increase, on top of last year's hefty percentage increase, was too much. We fell into this trap with the AA. A had been with them since 1963 (!) but it had gone up and up and two years ago they wanted to charge over £200 so we switched to Green Flag. Anyway, when I challenged the increase he offered to renew at the same price as last year.I then thought I would have another go with the British Gas chat thing but before I did I tried again to input the reading and after fiddling around a bit found a different page with the option to submit a reading, which did work, so another thing off my list. Made lunch, washed up and then opened an online account with a BS I already have a branch savings account with. Not much in life is quick and easy but this was. The online a/c has a better rate of interest and although I don't have a fortune in it, every little helps. I'm going to keep the branch one and use it for the MSE 365 Day 1p Challenge.I ordered a bottle of cherry molasses with my last Waitrose order for something I was doing for our NYE meal but the top won't open - it just spins round and round so I emailed them about that. I then made up the bed and went into the ROD to get our blood pressure machine for A as he wanted to do a few readings before a hospital appointment on Thursday. When I picked it up the cuff was sodden and there was a pool of water underneath and next to it which had come out of a small dehumidifier we have in there. I'm not sure why that happened but I mopped it up and sat it on some kitchen roll and will monitor it - hopefully it won't happen again. Then it was time for a cup of tea/coffee and a slice of Christmas cake. Somehow we have ploughed our way though over half already. The weather is wet, cool and windy today - not nice at all.8
