Cherryfudge said:A pretty amazing find yesterday at a pop-up charity shop in Helmsley, on behalf of the Children's Cancer charity and another charity which I don't remember. A very small shop but some nice things and I came away with a Whistles cashmere jumper for £2! It will need to be cleaned and de-bobbled but I can do both of those and it's more that it's not been looked after than that it's worn out.
I can't find the exact one online but the nearest equivalent is currently £169.

Both lovely, @Miró! The pop-up charity shop in Helmsley is near the Oxfam, in case you're interested.
I went to Bedale and came back with a bag of onions and a string of fairy lights, 75p and 50p respectively.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Oops, completely forgot, (senior blonde moment!), I did get something from the Bedale CB. Have you noticed the big white van people, Cherryfudge, that seem to have loads of house clearance stuff? Mostly china, glass and pictures with lots of other weird things? This week they had boxes and boxes of wrist watches!?! Well, I bought 3 x really heavy small plain crystal bowls for £2. I knew they were good quality..... Google reverse search found them.....Czech glass snd currently selling at £61 each!

Those are lovely - well spotted @Miró! I kind of like those house clearance stalls, in the hope of finding special china.
What surprised me this week was that there were several stone hot water bottles, minus the stoppers. I'm not taking the risk, nice though I think they are.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I have several earthenware hot water bottles bought for around £5. Some were made when there was a shortage of rubber in WW2. They are useful as foot warmers or for the pets, either hot or cold. It is hard to get the large rubber washers for the stoppers.8

Also the deceased rubber hot water bottle may cut up to provide plural washers for the stone replacement… (wildly OS MS!)10 -
I was sure I'd seen discussion on seals for stone hot water bottles and here it is:

So that's the seal sorted, I just need to find some stoppers if I'm to buy another 'pig' for my feet in winter.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Also check carefully for cracks.

Not a charity shop but Freegle came up with someone wanting to declutter some picture frames. Just the right sort for a bit of art work I'm trying to house so ran off and snagged the lot. Very pleased as one of them is a square clip frame - hard to find sometimes!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I’ve been hunting white t shirts for some time. They’re surprisingly difficult to find in good condition in the CS in my experience. So I was delighted to find: Asda George white fitted tee £1.50
Per Una white short sleeved more sweatshirt than t shirt material top £4.75
Both in pristine condition.
And also The Citadel by A J Cronin which I have been searching for ages £3
Love the dress and kitten heels @Miro8
