Only did the Bedale CB today and came away with just one purchase, wot I thought was a mini strawberry planter but on looking closer at it I reckon it’s for growing herbs….anyhoo, £1

Did the Northallerton CB this morning and got this Hobbs cropped jacket for £10, (still has tags on). Google Lens tells me it was originally £249!! Has a gloriously OTT flowery lining. Will wear with a pair of burgundy, high waisted, wide legged trousers which I think will go nicely 😊
Also picked up a pair of cream Egyptian cotton bnwt pillowcases for £1.49 from the Cancer Research shop.

That tweed jacket is gorgeous.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
How a retailer can get away with charging people £249 for a jacket that will be worn only occasionally totally beats me! I realise its a good quality item, but even so...?

I've just realised I've been a bit remise with my posting 😞 At the beginning of the month I had a leisurely trip to my local Sally Army. I'd been thinking that summer clothes might disappear soon so went down the clothes rails. Usually I draw a blank - I'm short, overweight and very self conscious and I find clothes shopping a nightmare - I usually dislike what I wear - but I'm working on that 😁
To my amazement and delight I came away with the following which either fit or very nearly fit - I have to lose a few kilos and gradually doing that at the moment.
These were £3 each, Capris from Dorothy Perkins, shorts M&S and the top Maine, all 100% cotton.
And these £1 each, George for the bermudas and Primark for the top. Again 100% cotton for the trousers and 95% for the top. Really chuffed, £12 for next year's summer general wear. 😁
Then a trip late last week to Barnardo's meant I came away with the following 2 books for £1 each
I'm looking forward to trying out recipes in both once I can finally get my cooker - just need the builders to finish their work.
In Barnardo's they had a different colourway of the Maine top - £1.50 more expensive! It wasn't my colours but I then looked at some of the other clothing and it was all more expensive than the SA. Also I find it really difficult to shop for clothing in Barnardo's. They organise it all by colour. I don't go in to buy a 'red', I go in looking for a top or trousers. I can then pick out a red top from the tops far more easily than I can pick out a top from the reds.
Probably just me but it's far too overwhelming and I usually avoid looking at the clothes there. Makes the shop look pretty but useless for me.

I've been camping in Cornwall, got an urgent message from a family member who had an emergency and needed someone to look after their pets for a few days. My hiking shoes had completely fallen apart (hiking for 4 days finished them off) and I'd binned them at the campsite recycling, the only footwear I had with me were a pair of sliders for campsite showers, and I didn't have time to go home first. After a day travelling off and on trains and tubes and getting horrible blisters I realised I was going to have to buy some cheap shoes if I was going to walk the dog properly twice a day. A quick dash to a nearby high-street in London, I was shocked at the prices but managed to find a pair of leather converse for £10. I don't need them but they were needed for this trip and I reasoned I would probably spend the same if not more travelling into London centre to find a cheap pair of Primark canvas shoes. Out of curiosity I looked them up - currently selling at some sites for £196!
