An update from your foreign reporter to say don't bother with the CS in Lenzkerch near Lake Titittsee as all they have are toys and jigsaws. And the hours are weird - like 10-1 on Tues, 3-6 on Wed etc.
So disappointed I couldn't get in to it and then relieved as I could tell they weren't going to have any killer scarves that I wouldn't be able to buy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Our Beacon charity bookshop used to be the best place for books, at 3 for £1, and £1 for hardbacks. They closed on Monday, sad to lose them. I did find four balls of 4ply pure wool in a lovely shade of orange for £2, and found a fine cable needle in the bag when I got home.

I went into the local hospice shop which isn't the cheapest, but has nice clothes. I got a black and white Whistles dress, a brown Principles dress and a Mantaray floral skirt. The woman at the till said they were asking people to round up as they wanted a new nurse so I rounded it up to £40. Not a bargain like my other shops, but all good quality clothes. The dresses were both maxi length which will be good for the autumn.8

A pretty amazing find yesterday at a pop-up charity shop in Helmsley, on behalf of the Children's Cancer charity and another charity which I don't remember. A very small shop but some nice things and I came away with a Whistles cashmere jumper for £2! It will need to be cleaned and de-bobbled but I can do both of those and it's more that it's not been looked after than that it's worn out.
I can't find the exact one online but the nearest equivalent is currently £169.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Oh that is a bargain. There are on line sellers that buy and re-sell cashmere once it has been cleaned and de-fuzzed and the sites are still expensive compared with your bargain!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6
