I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy10 -
Rosa_Damascena said:ETA: @Wednesday2000 - it looks like Harp is reopening at the former Boots site on Hamlet Court Road.
I haven't found anything much the past couple of visits to chazzers. I want a few go-to summer outfits now it has warmed up.6 -
I forgot to buy harissa paste in the shopping now people on here mentioned it. I will change my Tesco order now.2025 GOALS

For anyone wondering what else they can do with a cauliflower I can recommend both these recipes Crispy cheese and mustard cauliflower bites and Tajin cauliflower bites.
I got round to trying my recent purchases on and unfortunately the Morris & Co dress and the coatigan just didn't suit me and then the orange flowered top, the mint green top and the blue seersucker suit were all far too big across the shoulders so they're going back too. However, today I dropped in to the hospice furniture shop in Headington and found a short sleeved very lightweight 70% cotton 30% silk M&S top and a lovely Geoff Hamilton book each for £3. I did notice that they had a several full shelves of good children's books covering a wide age range and also a full rail of children's clothes just in case anyone is interested as well as some Long Tall Sally trousers.

@Cherryfudge - I love the blouse! Has reminded me that I have similar, and that's what I shall wear today. Jeans look good too.
@Wednesday2000 - I drove a different route from Westcliff back to Southend East yesterday and noticed a new chazzer (Christian Reform?) on London Rd on the corner of HCR that might be worth investigating).
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.7 -
^ Oh yes, I went in a new charity shop on London Road a few weeks ago and they said they had just opened. I can't remember the name at all. I was in a rush as I was going to get my hair done so I didn't have time to really look around. I had forgotten about that.2025 GOALS

Cherryfudge said:Did you get anything at Bedale, @Miró? I went later than you but there was still a lot there and I came away with:
Fatface top, £2.50
Lottie embroidered jeans, £2
Gandys backpack £2
canister and tablets for old-style soda siphon (we have one).
The jeans are a bit tight so they may not be keepers, but the top is just right and I’m very pleased with the backpack. I’ve read the autobiography of the brothers who run the company (‘Tsunami kids’) which drew it to my attention but when I got home and looked it up, they retail between £80-100, as well as being well designed and benefitting charity. Not that I needed a new bag…
Later in Thirsk I found a brown real leather bag with loads of securely zipped compartments for £7 and today in the CRUK shop in Northallerton I picked up a Phase Eight button thro midi skirt in burgundy for £6.
P.S. How do you manage to display your pics in the smaller size please? Mine are always ginormous!

Some lovely buys there, @Miró: I particularly like your candles and skirt (would that I had the waistline for something like that!), and the little square frame is nice.
Photos are uploaded from my phone. When you create the post and go to add the photo, it can be resized before you attach it to the post. The list of different sizes appears underneath on mine, and I think the one I selected was medium. You do have to go through the process rather slowly and deliberately or you end up deleting and stating again as I did!
See if that helps, I don't mind trying to explain again if needed.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Promised to send my copy of Mamushka by Olia Hercules to a cousin in Scotland.. well my grandfather and her grandfather were brothers so I presume we are cousins of sorts ? We can't find the book though, so I bought a cheap copy from East Anglia Children's Hospices on eBay to send her. She teaches English to Ukrainian refugees and I thought that learning ingredients in English for Ukrainian recipes, would help them shop in supermarkets.8
