Shop Charity Store in '24!

weenancyinAmerica said:When traveling, you can always buy a "new" suitcase at the charity shop (or even new), but you might not find the same book ever again. But remember, many book shops including used bookstores, can ship books home for you also even if you live in America. One trip alone had books coming in 40 different shipping boxes. Worth it.I’m kicking myself now cos the seller I got the Cartier book from had a big box full of similar books about jewellery and all priced at £1. Each one had a dedication to ‘Dear Marjorie’ in the front and appeared to have been gifted for birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations. I think ’Marjorie’ must have been a jewellery collector!! Hmmmm….wonder if the seller wil be there again next week?7

@Miró love love love that J Crew coat. It’s my absolutely favourite colour. Also in rather tardy response to your question about my White Stuff bag the mark is on the back. I think it has rubbed against dark denim and picked up some colour, but to me it’s just patina.
@goldfinches love the William Morris dress: beautiful AND useful.
Slim pickings for me, just a Next chambray playsuit for £6. There are quite a few on Vinted and that’s where I nicked the photo from, (mines in the wash)but obviously I didn’t have to pay postage or buyer protection.
l have however bought a couple of straps from Vinted which have jazzed up a Paul Costello CS purchase from a while back

I was at an art class yesterday at the local community centre and now have 2 problems.
Do I go back there to buy the 2 retro tumblers they had for sale at 50p each? 1960ish, with brightly coloured labels for various cocktails brands like Campari. Quite garish (nice!), think my OH might like them (potential anniversary present??). But we do NOT need more glasses and our anniversary is not until August. Similar ones seem to be selling for £10 each on ebay but not the exact design.....
And the art tutor had some books with her showing artists' work that she was using as examples. Problem 1, can't remember one of the chap's name. They did a programme about him and shortly after that he died. UK, up north somewhere.... And the other I've got his name but do I really want to get either his assistant to send me some books, brand new? At top price plus postage?? Or do I buy them second hand at £15 a pop off ebay? There's 3 books but only 2 on ebay for some reason. Oh - maybe I'll do better on Amazon.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie maybe you'll remember northern artist chap's name? I would stalk Amazon & maybe look on Vinted too. Or when you have the names & titles, post them on here in case any of us see them?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

The other chap thought is Norman Ackroyd - there's 3 sketchbooks one labelled Shetland, another Hebrides and the 3rd Irish. I can get them all new for £16-19 each plus postage or I can get them second hand off various sites for about £14 with no postage. So if any of you trip over these in the next few days let me know and I'm sure we could come to an arrangement. Otherwise I'll decide where best to buy them from online.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
