I was walking past the Age UK shop just before lunchtime today and decided to pop in and just have a quick look! Half an hour later.....
Left to right a Zyliss mango cutter thingy, £1.99, an anonymous clip-top jar, £1.99, Denby flower shape baking dish, £4.99, and Mason Cash soufflé dish, £3.99. I know that there will have been an intake of breath at the price of the Denby and I presume the acquisitions committee is raising its eyebrows but I couldn't leave such an unusual shape behind so please may I be allowed some latitude?
Here is the mark on its base for you to see.
Sorry about the photo size, for some reason I cannot alter that at all.
Then I also bought this Next Morris & Co dress (better photos here) for £9.99.
Then I took a bit of a punt on this Kilky coatigan which is lovely and light but warm as I hope it will be good for snuggling on the sofa next winter, also £9.99.
I've never come across Kilky so have looked online and they seem okayish, maybe a bit young for me but that might just be the models I've seen in a quick scan.7 -
I'd probably pay £4.99 for the right piece of Denby, @goldfinches. What's the pattern on your flower-shaped dish?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Nice! It's not one I know, but they have so many. You could probably use it as a serving dish as well as for baking things in.
That Morris dress is lovely, too, well, basically - a very nice haul!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Agreed, the Morris print is lovely but unfortunately I would have known better than to but this for myself. I love the colour and print combinations but they don't look good on me - a lesson learned the hard way!
Kilky looks to be a French brand but I haven't gone as far as creating an account so cannot benchmark the prices.
I don't need anything in particular but have been confined to my desk during office hours this week with no opportunity to stray, hence am getting chaz-withdrawal symptoms. Have a stack of things to catch up on today but all I can think of is how I might incorporate a chaz-excursion into the day!No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Presuming it’s brown on the outside? That’s Bakewell & the stamp is 1980-1987 date range. Nice spot & absolutely worth a fiver for the elegantly undulating quiche! (Don’t let my Acquiz Committee leash stifle your fun & the pound limit was set to restrain my impulse purchases so we all ate regularly. Things have improved in the last decade financially although my impulse control can still be erratic!) I like the “floral” edged dish, even if getting a slice out can be ticklish (hurrah silicone!), as it’s nice to hold/touch which may be a strange requirement in dishes but should mean it’s easier to hang onto hot or cold.7

Love the Morris print dress & in linen too!
Had a great day @ the Bedale and Thirsk Boot Sales today. First find was a J Crew showerproof jacket in a purply blue colour, £8, was £135 but currently selling in the shop at half price. Then found a Stella jug/pan for £5……I saw this jug in a chazza in Ambleside about 15 years ago, hesitated….then went back to find it sold. Thrilled to find it again 😊 (Pictured before cleaning !)
Then picked up a book about Cartier, the jewellery peeps, for £1. Stunned to find it selling at £110 😳7 -
When traveling, you can always buy a "new" suitcase at the charity shop (or even new), but you might not find the same book ever again. But remember, many book shops including used bookstores, can ship books home for you also even if you live in America. One trip alone had books coming in 40 different shipping boxes. Worth it.10

@Miró I do love that shade of blue and have a few Crew Clothing bits which I've found in charity shops myself and think they're good quality and well made too. Great find on the Stella sauce pan, I have one and think the handle makes preparing things that need a lot of stirring so much easier and the subsequent cleaning is less unwieldy too. I should think the Cartier book will make a great bedtime browse, enjoy yourself.
@DigForVictory yes a plain dark shade of brown, I knew you'd know all about it, thankyou for the information and the permission.
@Rosa_Damascena that's very interesting that Morris prints don't suit you at all, my face seems to go with the lighter background ones very well but not with those with a black background although I'm not so sure about the style of this dress but will ask a friend's verdict next Friday.
@Cherryfudge thankyou for the suggestion about serving, I agree that a pretty presentation echoing the shape of the dish would look very appetising.
@weenancyinAmerica I do agree it's worth paying for a separate delivery especially if it's a book like @Miró's that is the definitive record of something and can be referred to for decades to come. I think we all grew up in the era when such things were much more unusual and expensive and it's worth adjusting our ideas to changing times, thankyou for making that point."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
