On the subject of reselling I'm not sure what to think. I was in the hospice shop in our posh suburb this pm and spotted a large circular Chance glass dish in this pattern which they'd marked down from £6 to £3 and tried to point out to them that they'd get far more for it online because their's was a bigger one which is even rarer. The manager said it had been on the shelf for 10 weeks so they'd reduced it this week to get it to move and wasn't the least bit interested in trying for more so I tend to think if you can be bothered to put in the effort good luck to you.
@Miró I see what the seller means about the colour running, it's very patchy isn't it but on the other hand if I was genuine surely Hermes would replace or exchange it for you no matter how old it was?
I was very good this morning and spent two hours at my allotment in the drizzle and cold so felt I'd earned a treat outing to the posh suburb charity shops this pm so off I cycled. I bought this dvd player screen for £28 and an allotment book that I don't really believe but hope is true for £2.50.
Now I shall be able to watch dvd's on this bigger screen which will make things pleasanter and easier.
The blurb on the back says you can spend half an hour a day after work on your plot and then take weekends off! I'll let you know if it's true in a few months.7 -
Went for a walk with my credit cards yesterday afternoon so inevitably detoured at some local chazzers. In the first I bought 3 books for £1, including 2 in mint condition about the late Queen's quotes and anecdotes, a jewelled Monsoon blouse for £1 and some handmade cards.
The next yielded a heavy decorative drinks tray and 4 books for a total of £2.
And at the third a red Alex & Co wrap cardigan, a Regatta jacket that I don't actually need but want and will make very good use of and a white "pashmina"-style scarf for £1. Before you start coveting @Brie, it was Accessorise and nowhere near the bar @Miró has set!
Jacket originally sold at £90: https://www.regatta.com/womens-tarah-quilted-jacket-navy/ .
I'm now waiting for a dry day so I can get some washing done!No man is worth crawling on this earth.

@Miró
Can't guarantee the G&Ts - you might have to fight the OH for those!! But he's also a dab hand at cocktails if that's of interest. Me I'm more a rum and something type.
BTW - 2 things about avoiding fakes in the top scarf market. First I'd say is the feel of the quality of the silk. I knew as soon as I put a finger on my Gucci that it was very good silk material - miles above what I usually get in a chazza, both thick and soft, creamy.
The other tell tale sign if to look at the hand rolled stitching. A fake might use decent material but will be cutting costs elsewhere and while it might have a rolled edge it's unlikely to be properly hand stitched. Even a top scarf is likely to have uneven stitching when done by hand whereas a cheap one will likely to have been done by machine and therefore be even.
Saying that though reminds me of going to the quilt auction at New Hamburg where all the top quilters were fairly elderly Mennonite men. And their hand stitching was amazing. Hermes could hire them to do their hand stitching and it would be spot on perfect. At the auction preview the quilters would examine their competitors' stitching and you'd hear a lot of tutting when they discovered mistakes of any sort.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Miró this website may be of some help:

I bought an alleged Mulberry bag in a chazzer, took it to the Mulberry store at Cheshire Oaks and they sent it off (free of charge) for verification. Sadly it wasn't genuine but it came back all wrapped in Mulbery tissue and in a Mulberry carrier bag so I looked the part carrying it back to the car!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@Potternerd I love both the flowery dresses especially the sleeved one and the shorts are terrific, I'm sure you'll look very stylish this summer.
I popped my head round the door of my favourite bhf shop earlier this week and someone must have had a clearout of shoe related bits because I found this pair of lasts and a very nice shoe cleaning kit. The lovely assistant insisted that the lasts were £6.50 for all four because both the labels had 3 of 4 written on them which didn't quite make sense to me but I decided to accept her word rather than argue. Then I found this gorgeously soft Laura Ashley archive short sleeved polo shirt which cost £7.50, that's a bit pricey for me but it felt so nice I decided to splurge in anticipation of better weather. It has rained ever since!
PS please ignore the traces of flour on my laptop, baking hands.

@Potternerd you have excellent taste. If the jumpsuit is a size 14 I can save you a job in raising the hems, you can just post it to me instead!
The Phase Eight dress I bought for peanuts the other day has been laundered and is a perfect fit, and I am on the chubby side atm.

The Bedale bank hols car boot was small this morning but lots of bargains to be had. Staggered out with an M & S blue striped linen shirt, a Barbour checked heavy cotton shirt and a pretty white cotton lawn top, all for £7. Then found a BNWT pair of navy Benneton trousers for 50p! (£59.99 on the price tag). Also got a pack of 3prs of Sloggi undercrackers for £5, (B/N obvs 🤭) and a picture, (Monet) with poppies for £2. Finally picked up a huge terracotta garden planter for £1 and various plants and seedlings for a few pounds, (mine are refusing to grow this year!)Yesterday in Northallerton bought a F & F linen dress for £3.25 and a pair of M& S navy trousers for £5. Please excuse crumpled state of things….all now in washer!11
