I’m quite partial to a bit of costume jewellery and when I found this one for £3 in the Dogs Trust it had to come home with me as something about it said ‘quality’. I’ve worn it a couple of times already and it’s got a lot of compliments both times. Anyway I finally did a bit of googling and found out us by a brand called Zsiskia and probably retailed new around the £70 mark.

@Miró, my go-to on things that look like engine oil is eucalyptus oil, but I don't know whether it's suitable for that fabric. Let it soak in for a minute on older stains, work it in, wash out with soap, repeat if necessary. The smell will clear your head, but don't ingest, as it's also toxic.
It's also nice to add a couple of drops to the washing machine.
Today I was in Llangollen and found a big silky grey scarf (possibly viscose?) in Tenovus cancer care for £3.99 and a Monsoon top in Barnado's for £5.50, but sadly the top is a poor fit so I'm going to return it. DH also spotted a painting he likes so he's going back in the morning to see if it's still there.
And those beads look good enough to eat...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I think that necklace is lovely @florianatwobob, how clever of you to spot it among everything else.
I spotted this Rocha John Rocha jacket this afternoon in the bhf shop and they only wanted £10 so the evil imp on my shoulder said go on and I did. It's a sort of bronze green shade which will go nicely with some trousers I have.
Then I thought you might like to see a photo of Daphne's southern cousins who were out in the meadow this morning when I went for a walk.
That's the first ducklings I've seen here this year and I'm hoping the goslings, swans and moorhens aren't far behind.

When I was full to the gills with stuff (and himself started protesting about me taking up space in his wardrobe), I went through it all bit by bit and tried it on. If I didn't look at myself in the mirror and think "my god that's pure lovely on, why don't I wear this anymore" I'd get rid. Things that aren't quite the right length or just a bit too bright or have got funny armpits or bit tummy hugging etc, redonate/sell them. Be brutal, it's the only way.
Edit - I love that necklace tooI'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.9 -

@goldfinches. Love the jacket. I haven’t seen any baby ducks, geese, swans or moorhens yet either this year, apart from ‘my’ own☹️
@Cherryfudge. Thanks for the tip about eucalyptus oil. Now got the mark to the stage of ‘nobody
else would probably notice it but I know it’s there’ iykwim 🙄😁9 -
I went for a city break with my daughter to Warsaw. We had an amazing time, fantastic food, stunning art and museums. We were surprised to find vintage and second hand shops everywhere. Thought you would like to see some of the beautiful, traditional, hand knitted sweaters I found. Sadly I couldn't carry anything home as I only took a overnight bag.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!11

i also wear pretty much the same type of clothes so if i find a better version, the previous one goes into the donation pile. For instance yesterday when i saw the blue M & S jumper, I thought that works better for me than the twin set, so 2 items out. I do occasionally flirt with a new look, such as wide legged trousers which I like now, but have learned that gathered waist ones don’t work for me.
Finally, and this is very unMSE: I’m a bit of a magpie for pretty things, but when I get them home they sit unused for a couple of months before going back.
The only think I regret redonating is a pair of Duo boots. Why oh why did I do that?8 -
