Hi everyone. Well done @nmm both on progress with seascape and on your card being chosen for photo of the week. It was a sweet little card and well deserved for your lovely stitching. Loved the hedgehog @Drawingaline. I have done a little stitching but also a lot of painting this week - of walls and ceilings. Progress so far on The best is yet to come. All a bit crinkly as I keep moving it in the hoop. Think it’s coming along and I’m on on track for it to be finished in time before she retires.

    Hi all,

Great to see everyone’s progress. Well done @nmm on your card fame! Well deserved xx

I have finished the ribbed welt on the crocheted slipover. Had to restart and pull it back twice before I deciphered the instructions having never done it before. I now need to do the armholes and neckline. I have mislaid my wool
needle which I will need to finish off - have searched high and low including down the side of the sofa and armchair (which netted a paid of embroidery scissors I’d previously lost!). No joy so may need to purchase another.

DH now not working - hoping it won’t be long until he’s back gainfully employed. In the meantime I have been keeping him busy with a list of jobs.

I’m back walking in April (Crewe to almost Bristol) so would love to have the slipover finished before I go.

    Take care all

I started something new. I planned to do the first three pages and then go back to When Winter Wanes. But I am absolutely loving this! So have carried on. Two more pages to go and then all the black outlines will be done and then I can go back and fill in the colours. This is Plum Glass by Carolyn Manning. I love her designs, they are so satisfying to stitch and look amazing. Definitely my sort of thing.

I ordered a whole load of fabric to use for my four large full coverage pieces. The largest is 1mx1.5m 😱 and it's 20count! Won't be starting them for a while though. Want to get his, WWW and the next lot of tiles on the Delft project done. I also need to order all the threads for them which will be quite expensive. And thinking I may use the cheaper cxc threads. They seem quite marmite though, but I think I will get a few skeins and do some test stitching.

That looks great dal.  Depending how many threads you need it might be cheaper to buy one of the gorgeous dmc boxes with selection of threads (or the full range  ;)  )

I have looked into getting a full set of DMC colours, but cannot justify the cost atm. I have quite a few as leftovers from kits and I ordered a few bobbins of colours second hand from eBay.

The reviews seem to say the CXC threads can be a little fluffier, and as I want to do the large pieces as a half stitch to speed things up, fluffy would actually work better!

    Hi all,

Lovely new design @Drawingaline - do you have a link to the finished article? I haven't heard of CXC threads - yes definitely get a few skeins before diving in and spending loads.

My niece is over for the Easter break (from Dublin) and wants help with an embroidery project for her DT studies. I think it's long stitch which is fairly straightforward. Will dig out some supplies later as BIL has a habit of just 'popping round' as clearly needs help to keep his kids occupied.

In other exciting news, I have finished the neckline and armholes of the crocheted slipover. Just need to get another wool needle and sew up to join, then lightly block. Will take a photo and publish once done.

    Hope everyone's doing okay,

rubbish lighting and a sideways picture, but this is what it will look like when finished, and I have done all the outline and am now filling it in. I am absolutely loving this. I will definitely be ordering some more from this designer. But not too soon, have far too many waiting to be started right now.
