Good evening, been quite a decent day today, but gone cold now. Load of washing dried on the line in a swift wind, makes me happy.
We don't eat a traditional roast lunch, OH being a cyclist and Sunday was always cycling day, races/time trials in the morning and club runs in the afternoon. I was new to cycling when we got together and everyone was very kind and welcoming to me, and of course tea and cakes in the cafe were always welcome as starving hungry after all the exertion LOL Today's offering was salmon baked in garlic/soy marinade with brown basmati and steamed veg, really tasty and will keep the very simple recipe.
@joedenise pleased you had a good time.
@bubbs your meal looked delish. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
That salmon meal sounds delicious @maddiemay and probably quite SW friendly. 👍
Glad you had a good weekend @joedenise. It seems like ages since you last went away in the MH. Pleased there was something healthy in the TGTG bags.
We've had a similar day to you @bubbs, a bit murky this morning but turned out nice this afternoon.
I had a few syns at the dance as had hummus with crudités and a mini Scotch egg so not sure of the sausage. Plenty of Body Magic to offset it though.
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- pasta with roasted veg (F, S)
D- beef in 'red wine' (P, S), SW roast potatoes and parsnips (F), many veg (S)
Syns - cornflour 1, weekend wine, tbsp hummus 🤔0 -
Morning all, it's a beautiful bright sunny day. Two machine loads of washing done and out on the line to dry. Not much wind though but hopeful it will dry anyway.
Hope you're not too sore @beanielou after your falls.
@maman - it is a very long time since we've been out in the motorhome. Think the last time was September! We may not be able to get to France in April as DH's licence needs renewing (he needs to keep his C1 as the motorhome is 4.5 tonnes) and DVLA in their wisdom have decided they need to contact our GP to check that he is OK to drive! The thing they are querying is the operation he had last year which isn't even a contactable thing so no idea why it's been passed to the medical team! Do hope our GP doesn't hang on to the letter too long before replying because unless he gets his licence back we can only go away in the UK.
@maddiemay - I have to agree with @maman that the salmon dish sounds lovely. I do a similar sort of dish but not very often as DH isn't keen on salmon on it's own but he's happy to eat it if I put it in a fish pie!
Today's plan:
B - weetabix, milk - HEA2; 6
L - burger, onions, in soft pitta with gherkin slices - S; HEB; 0.5
D - chicken meatballs in HM tomato sauce with HM fresh pasta - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - milk
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - 2 Weetabix 6; LF burger 0.5
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Good afternoon, nice day here too. Good walk with OH and dog, then they walked on home while I pottered in the CS with my trust "books wanted" list (sorry MSE wanted not needed) but books give me so much pleasure. Dropped into cafe for quick coffee and bumped into friends of OH ( he is a nice guy and she is an absolute sweetie).
Home for a very light lunch as I wanted to try and do a little weeding - won't be much as it is absolutely sodden and dig up more wet soil than weeds, cannot bend too much on a full tum these days.
Supper - I have given OH the choice of ham and HB egg salad with a JP for him or bacon, mushrooms, eggs and beans, will await his decision! Afternoon to myself, he has just pedaled off on his trusty steed for a few hours.
@beanielou still sending healing vibes to you and your DM.
@joedenise meatballs on my list also some chicken/beef ragu already cooked to make stuffed peppers again, they were so delish last week. Smoked Haddock on shopping order for a kedgeree in the next few days (if it is not OOS).
@maman the salmon was indeed delish, I often throw a few things together from the cupboard, but this was an actual recipe from PON Quick & Easy.
Consultant messaged to say new magazine has arrived, I keep saying I won't buy any more, but take no other magazines and it is an easy few minutes read while having a cuppa (and OH is in another world doing a complicated Sudoku
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Thanks for the information on the salmon @maddiemay. I'm impressed that the cycling club served a healthy PoN recipe. It makes a change from beige food!
We're having salmon tonight as it happens. It took DH a while to get used to it but he's fine now. Left to him we'd only eat haddock or cod! 🤣
I do hope they sort out Joe's licence @joedenise. 🤞🏼 Dry and fairly bright here so washing is on the line too.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA scrambled eggs (P), HEA milk for drinks
L- Ham (P) with usual Monday leftovers (S, minimal F)
D- salmon (P), SW chips (F), roast veg, green stuff (S)
Syns- 00 -
Thanks @maman - apparently the Dr hasn't even received the letter from DVLA according to the Dr's receptionist so we're going to photocopy DH's letter and take it in also asking that the Dr replies as quickly as possible due to us going on holiday shortly after Easter so hopefully that will work!
Washing completely dried, folded and put away (well mine is!) - DH's is on the bed folded waiting for hime to put away.0 -
