  • Hope you all got through the storm unscathed. I was driving in it yesterday evening going to a client out in one of the villages and it was a bit hairy. Thankfully it settled enough that I was able to get out for a run last night.

Longwalker I've been thinking about you, and anyone else doing dry January who may struggle.

Annoyed at WI with a STS. And I know I lost 5.5lbs last week. But still.  Did about 20k running this week and have been eating very well. Well, realised that it was the same as what you lot all told me before. I had a week where I didn't eat much. Was low on proper food but then went to bed with snacks. Didn't go over my syns any day. Same as the other week when I STS. Hadn't eaten enough.

I promise to eat more proper food. Have lots of fresh fruit and veg and am going to make sure I go back to eating breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I'm liking the consultant at this new class. She's friendly and enthusiastic. And the best bonus is seeing my old next door neighbour there. She's come back after a break and gave me the biggest hug.

I've booked a week off next week as I'm off to Warrington on courses and will be eating out (paid for by work, yippppeeeeeee) then my big sister is coming over from Belfast for a few days and we will be eating out etc. Will probably still make healthy choices but also want to just relax. So if I gain a couple of pounds, ah well, I will lose it again.

Morning all, another really early one - up before 4am today!  Just couldn't get back to sleep after I woke at 3 to go to the loo, wouldn't be surprised if I need a nap this afternoon, LOL!

Weather forecast is for yet more rain - when will it stop?  Seems to have been raining so much this winter.

The floods look awful @bubbs.  You have to feel for anyone who lives anywhere it floods.  You got some great bargains again.

It must have been awful driving in that yesterday @NornIronRose.  I think we've been quite lucky where I live as no flooding although the fields are definitely more like lakes than usual!  Good to see that you like the consultant at your new class, it makes such a difference.  Hopefully you'll make good food choices when eating out while your on courses next week.

Not planning on going out at all today - think it's best to stay indoors with the forecast as it is.

    Today's plan:

    B - bacon & mushroom sandwich - HEB; P; S; 2
    L - carrot and lentil soup - P; S
    D - Spanish rice - P; S; F; 2

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - LF spread 2; chorizo 2

    Have a good day everyone.

@Mrsporridge, I tried to download the app or join but it wont work. Mind tbh its really not worth it for me. Dobbies is 30miles away, it was just a wee trip out for us , it wont be weekly - or even monthly. Still it was lovely looking about it. They have gone into one of these shopping outlet places, taken over half of it. When we first moved here and it was just opened there were lots of outlets there, posh names of the times, now its home bargains and Poundland and the place was dying a death. Still managed to get eyebrows done by the lovely lady who works from a protacabin there

High Five back at you @jellybaby xxx. Last night was easier then the night before, I didnt get the "its 5pm, time for a drink" thought Sorry you arent feeling so well xx

@beanielou , had a search for you, its not showing

@bubbs OMG that looks horrendous :( Luckily this storm missed us here, the fields are saturated from the last two storms with water pouring of them onto the roads and some localised flooding but nothing like that

@nornironrose , so glad you like your new consultant and you have a friend there with you, it makes a huge difference to how you engage with the programme. Mine is a doll, Shes at target for 3 years now, likes a drink like the rest of us, never preaches or berates, is just so supportive. Our groups are always full of laughter and I enjoy them.

Its a bummer when the "you haven't eaten enough" is proven to be true isnt it? When I started this job and hadn't got a handle on what and when I was eating so was rarely eating and putting in more steps because of the nature of the job and doing park run and then either staying the same or just a half pound lost, I was devastated. Took a couple of weeks to get organised enough to have snacks that I could carry in my pocket and car so I could eat healthily and regular and the weight started to shift again

@coxy11, sorry I missed that you have been unwell. Something I have never had but I hear its not a nice bedfellow, hope it clears soon xx

@joedenise, I feel for you. Im a bad sleeper but if I wake that early I feel dreadful for the day. I try to sleep on till seven  at least, so I go to bed around 1;30 - 2am .I got a nap yesterday as Mr L drove us back from our trip out, I had nodded off within a mile :)

I realised last night I had no speed at all all day so when I did get hungry - about 10pm I found a pouch of spicy veg and lentils. Had half a pack and cubed up some half fat feta into it . It stopped me reaching for the peanut butter sandwich which would be my usual first reach

I had a go at logging meals on MFP last night and gave it up as a bad idea. With SW what I ate yesterday was perfectly acceptable and mostly free, according to MFP - im heading towards a heart attack !!!

Back to work today, nice afternoon shift. Haven't done a food shop yet since pre Christmas and haven't a clue what we are eating. When everyone else shifts themselves out of bed Ill go hunting . Got a feeling Ive some bags of Bolognese in the freezer, hopefully Ill find enough wee bags to feed the three of us

    Stay safe everyone

Morning all, still a bit groggy but loads better than I was.  WFH again and I’m the only one ‘in’, everyone else poorly.

Made a huge vat of chilli in the slow cooker last night which I’ll portion up when I make lunch. Bolognaise will go on next. I’ve enough veg to make another batch of lentil soup and whatever’s left I’m going to bag up in casserole portions. Freezer inventory needs to be done as well 🙈

    Today’s food:
    B - f/f Greek yoghurt, fruit salad
L - baked potato with chilli, pickles
D - chicken in Frank’s hot sauce citrus bag, wedges, salad - 1.5 syns for my share and is at DS2’s request, never had it before but he enjoys it

Still have HEB and A if I want something else.   Hope you all have a good day!
