Hello there @ruby_eskimo, well that week is over, it's hard for us all so hopefully the line has been drawn now. Re the chocolates, I thought I was being smart taking the box I was given as a gift to the SIL, only she gave me some back lol
@HotDog2020, no problem, hope the syn values helpRe the fruit and veg - that was me, the original veg dodger. But the truth of the matter is, there are fruits and veggies I do like. No I dont like greens like kale, but Im ok with carrots, parsnips, cauliflower , peas, corn - well actually when you do see a list of fruit and veg and stick a tick beside those you dont actually mind, or even like, its a surprising amount. Fruit for instance, I dodge it because I have extreme sensitivity of the few remaining teeth I have and soft fruits are expensive and usually tasteless . But the bags of mixed frozen berries are economical - about £3 in lidl and a handful of those defrosted into my FF yoghurt not only flavours the yoghurt its a portion of speed. Also I like the roasted med veg, well Im not fussed on courgette so I make my own omitting the courgette , just a couple of peppers ( red and yellow, dont like the green ) an aubergine, red onion, chopped up onto a tray, mist of oil and well seasoned with S&P and whatever dried herb I fancy, roast till softened and as Jamie says - gnarly - and it lasts in the fridge a good few days. I just dollop a spoonful , hot or cold, alongside what Im eating and of course theres always blended soup to hide the veg. Im a scratch cook and the other veg I buy frozen are the bags of peas/beans/carrot mix - great to throw into a mince dish for cottage pie for example and also the casserole mix, saves all that chopping and wondering what to do with half a swede or finding half a bag of carrots turned to mush
So I am eating more veg then I ever did and its ok. Just finding ways to be inventive with it. Hell I even bought pak choi for the first time last year and found a recipe that sounded really flavoursome whilst low on the syns and gave it a try, Wasnt horrible , wasnt the best, but wasnt horrible and I could eat it okWhen my husband worked away and lived in digs and relied on microwave meals, he used to buy those bags of steam veg to bulk them out - he really is a meat and 3 veg man but cant cook. He found them to be lifesavers as he was being left hungry with just a microwave meal, but a couple of bags of those and those individual pouched of potatoes meant he was getting enough to eat without relying on take aways2 -
Morning all from a very wet and grey Scotland. I now have a rattling cough so fingers crossed it’s breaking up and gone soon.
Last night a good few gins were consumed - to lubricate my throat 😉 but think I’ll give it a rest now until I finish work in February. You’ll smash dry January and beyond @Longwalker. I think it’s time I made some changes too.
Today’s food is likely to be a bit picky as I want to finish up all the odds and ends from Christmas and will no doubt have more to bring home after visiting parents later 🙈

Afternoon all from a very wet, windy and wild Cornwall.
@Longwalker hope dry January goes well.
Todays plan
B wholemeal muffin (HEB) with scrambled egg and loads of pea shoots - my new find and I love them.
L HM pea soup
D friends are cooking and its going to be lots of meat and tortillas - will only have one tortilla but lots of the meat.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Change of plan for lunch today! DH found some ham in the fridge which needs using up so it was ham, egg, chips & beans instead of the planned jacket potato.
We'll probably have the jacket in a couple of days time for dinner.0 -
Best of luck with Dry January @Longwalker.
So pleased you've found a new SW friendly favourite @MrsPorridge! I can't say I've ever tried pea shoots. I'll look out for them.
It's blowing a gale (literally) here today. We have friends who've left their car with us for a cruise and come home tomorrow morning. I don't envy them tonight's crossing. ☹️
First day back completely on plan and starting back to my dance class tonight. WI is three weeks on Thursday so 🤞all will be well.
Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, fried eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA 1 milk for drinks

Hi Sorry about this but I have decided to leave this group. My heart just isn't in it. I think you have all been supportive and helpful, especially @Longwalker thank you. It is not an issue with yourselves you are all lovely but I am trying to lose weight yes, but not follow a strict regiment just make imporvements, and I feel we are not aligned. I do know what healthy eating is, so I know what is right and what isn't but I cannot stick to something that I cannot maintain. Thanks for being there and I wish you all well on your journeys. Onwards and Downwards. 🏋️♀️0

Thank you all for the support. And esp @Jellybaby who's jumped on the wagon as well@joedenise , thats my favourite tea over the Christmas period, it heralds the end of the gammonTo all those getting battered by the storm, stay safe, dont take risks, dont go out if you have no need
@hotdog2020 , Im sorry to see you go, but you have to do you your way. I personally love the support of this group and I NEED the accountability of SW and the weekly weigh in. And I can put my hand on heart and say theres been very few days that I have followed the plan faithfully , never counted a syn ever. I learned a scotch was 3 syns and if I carried on with the bread I so was not going to lose weight. Free foods and Speed foods are only terms for the foods we should be eating for a balanced healthy diet, and all SW does is point you in the direction. I like a drink - well documented - so all my syns are used in Scotch - plus a lot more, but Im still losing weight. Lass I sit beside each week, she uses her full allocated syns on chocolate - shes still losing weight, only we know thats what we want, so eat sensibly the rest of the day so I just make the swaps to allow me to drink away and still eat my fillBut you do have to follow your own path and I wish you all the best xxCooking roast beef , not having yorkies Im too tired. Its really weird , cooking without a drink in hand and Im getting a twitchy mouth - but what I mean, its drying, the dryness that only a drink will stop. But that will stop happening in a few days and Ill even be fine in the morning, it just comes on me at tea time, the time I pour the firstMr L fell at the first hurdle - I knew he wouldn't do it, hes only done 3 weeks at a time, never the month0 -
