Hi everybody. I used to post here and am returning. Im still at group though i moved to a different one in November. The weight has gone the wrong way since which is due to a couple of trips away, general run up to Christmas and giving into temptation at work where there was a steady stream of edible treats brought in by clients.

Anyway back on plan from tomorrow when I return to work.   I have been to group every week to keep an eye on things however want to try SP to see if I can shift some pounds quickly as a kick start.

I got a soup maker for Christmas and have made a list of SP soups to make for lunches. Have other meals planned too.  Any tips for SP would be great.

The only Christmas food left is cheese and chocolate. Ill incorporate the SYNS for both.  I made a list of SYN values in all the chocolate.  Any that I dont want to spend SYNS on im donating to the Food Bank via my group. Will be taking these on Saturday.

On top of the SP im doing dry January.  I also have a nasal problem that causes me to produce a lot of mucus which can cause me to cough up phlegm (sorry TMI) and i want to address this via diet also. I think ive pinpointed the intolerance to cream and low fat yogurt. For some reason a higher fat yogurt is ok. I will use SYNS for this as i need calcium.

Im also joining a Zumba class on Wednesday night with my daughter. Have not been to one of those since pre-COVID.

Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    Happy New Year everyone!

Welcome @HotDog2020 and good to see you posting again @VALM. 😊

Many congratulations on your PB @NornironRose. That's a great feeling and proves you must be lighter on your feet! 👍

I checked out the chicken terryaki @HotDog2020 and it's 5 syns. That's not bad for a full meal but I think you need extra Speed veg to make a proper SW friendly meal. Perhaps have some fruit later? 🤔

Well done on making the soups for work @VALM. For SP meals, my favourite would be cottage pie with a topping of swede and carrot mash or a filled omelette with salad and/or pickles for a lighter meal.

Hope you feel better soon @Jellybaby. DH and I are still suffering with a cold that seems to go on and on. Like you, I was generously gifted it. ☹️

I've portioned up Bolognese for the freezer that I made yesterday. I also did a fresh inventory for the freezers. I'm determined to try and eat from what I have in this month as much as possible. I will look out any YS bargains as that's a mse habit but I could manage if I have to.

Not sure of syns today. None in my meals but could be I have some treats before getting back to normal tomorrow.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, banana (F), blueerries (S)
    L- egg (P)., fried veg and pickles (S), 1 potato (F)
D- baked salmon (P), SW chips (F), carrot chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, green stuff (S)
    Syns - tbc🤔

Thanks Maman For looking up the teriyaki chicken, the meal includes speed veg, so it is a win win!!

Total for today, I know the day is not over:-

Breakfast: 7syns (weetabix and Hea Milk)
    Snack: 6 Syns (chicken drumsticks)
Lunch: 5 syns (Estimate for lighter bread smeared on to two slices of HeB and eggs and smoked salmon)
Snack: 4 syns 2X Petit Filous Yoghurt.
Dinner 5 syns Chicken Teriyaki noodles. Plus an apple.

Total: 27 syns I know the aim is perfection but I am pleased with that to start and I know I will lose weight with that. Thanks again Maman, by the way your day looks packed full of nutritious food, well done.

No problem @HotDog2020. Well done on the apple! 👍 I checked the ingredients for the chicken terryaki and there is some Speed veg in the meal but not enough to make the (at least) a third that you need. I'm a bit fanatical about Speed! 🤣

Hi @maman thanks for the tip.  Im pretty sure I still have some mince in the freezer.  What is YS?

    Congrats on your PB @NornIronRose.

I had some exciting news earlier. My photo of Broccoli and Stilton soup has been published on the Pinch of Nom Recipe page. So if you check it out my name is on there.  They're sending me a free lunch box too.

    Hi all,

Happy New Year to you all 😊

Lovely to see some new and returning members - hi to @HotDog2020 and @VALM x

Apparently Iceland do chicken skewers which are low in syns so I might check those out.

Well done on your park run PB @NornIronRose that’s fantastic xx

Last night was a lot of fun - noisy, boozy, lots of body magic for me as I didn’t stop all day with cleaning/prepping whilst DH messed around with the gazebo, I danced a lot too. The food went down well and we have chilli and rice tonight plus there are 8 meals in the freezer. I still have cystitis but cranberry juice is helping.

    Back to work tomorrow boooooo
