Welcome back VALM, well done Rose, that's a great achievement .

I am also fanatical about speed 😂 hotdog even if it has 22% in, you are still supposed to have 1/3 plate speed

I was just thinking @bubbs that @VALM would get good ideas for SP from your meals as you have very few carbs. Don't you make chips from BNS? 🤔

Sorry to be pedantic about the Speed @HotDog2020. I tend to look at the (at least) one third Speed across each day rather than every meal, usually more like half at lunch and dinner and not so much at breakfast. Today I just had some blueberries with my breakfast but made up for it later.

  • @Nornironrose - congratulations on the PB. I hope you didnt do what I normally do when I or my walking buddy get a PB - celebrate with a scone and coffee lol. Thankfully they dont come about that often :)

NYD Parkrun was held at the Port, and guess where I work? OMG I was in a queue of traffic all the way through, ended up paying for parking rather then risk driving around and around. Car parks full, beach rammed and plenty in the sea - and we were totally hammered in work lol

Welcome back @valm , I tend to live on SP and free as I use all my syns on alcohol ( dry January starts for me tomorrow - always on the 2nd ) . For me yes the soups, plus I eat piles of salads , esp as open sandwiches - just half an HEB . So Id use a dairy lea light as the spread, pile up the sliced beets and cucumber, pile with rocket , top with diced peppers and onions , and then throw on the protein along with a topping of pickled veg - red cabbage, sauerkraut , kiminchi (sp) , find I save the dressings/spread syns. And Im getting to grips with 1/3 sp with everything - bacon roll at the weekend? Shove in the rocket and tomatoes and I also like mushrooms - really makes a meal out of a bacon butty

@hotdog, the aim is never perfection, its the best that you can do and never allow a blow out to alter the course. My journey has been 8 months of losing a 1lb a week on average and after the first few dodgy days where I didnt have a clue what I was doing, a few !!!!!! shift changes where Ive not been prepared, I can say Ive not gone hungry and 99% of the time I eat the exact same as I cook for the family , usually more veg then I would have previously had and a smaller portion of pasta/rice, the the changes in portion sizes has been gradual. My life savers during the day with work has been couscous, pasta, roasted veg, tinned fish, light baby bells, eggs, soup and FF homemade greek style yoghurt. I make my own so I can make it thick, cheese like, great to make into dips and toppings and dressings without using syns. Oh and did I say I love a chip? Often if Im hungry and wanting to hit the bread and crisps ( easy , what I know and satisfy on the OMG I so needed that level) , Ill air fry a portion of chips. We usually have salmon. pasta on Saturdays ( so quick and easy ) now I stir in the rocket or spinach and diced peppers - for the speed - and I kid you not, I now get full on what most people would call a portion ( Id eat 500gr dried weight this time last year )

@jellybaby sorry to hear you are poorly. Theres so much going around at the moment , my friend has been smit since October and is still suffering. I had that bug, whatever it was back before covid and it took months to shift, fingers crossed whatever you have is short lived. We always get a lot of horrible bugs when the weather stays so warm I think. Need a few hard frosts

@coxy11 SW were dishing out 10% off vouchers for Iceland this week, think it was store wide, not just SW so check the website see if there are any printables ? Sounds like a good night was had, I had to make do with Rick and Rylan ( be still my beating heart ) lol

What a day I had. OMG we had a queue around the whole restaurant for 4 hours. Sold out of hot food, nearly wiped out of tray bakes, and then the coffee grinder died, the spare was away for maintenance already. It was murder. Then to top it all the dishwasher passed out. Poor woman, on her own for 7 hours and no break but we were totally hammered. I clocked up 7 miles of steps, and most of them were with heavy trays. It was 4:30 before anything like food passed my lips - 2 matchsticks - I needed the sugar energy

So I really enjoyed the curry, so much nicer when it was cooked a while back and I didnt skimp on the naan - totally ravenous . If I hadn't have had the naan the meal would have been free but as it was all I had all day, I really didnt give a fiddlers. Just hoping the spinach doesn't have the same effect as it did the last time I ate it lol

So totally glad I set dry January to start tomorrow, believe me, I not only deserved the very large one I poured within minutes of walking in the door - I needed it. Thank god we had the hot tub on, its blowing a hooley and peeing down but I needed the heat and weightlessness for my back and shoulders tonight for sure

12-4 again tomorrow and that should be the last busy day, kids go back on the 3rd I think. Im dropping some baby bels in the pocket JIC because I need to come home feeling not so exhausted and reach for a livener.

Dinner tomorrow is Roast Beef , I got a few half price per kilo before Christmas and Ive a bag of 15p veggies so that will be dinner for the next 2 or 3 nights and as tomorrow Im not drinking, Im making yorkies - wooo hooo :)

Im so looking forward to my day off on Wednesday for sure

Batten the hatches, Henrik is showing himself

Morning all.  Hope you all had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Welcome to all the newbies and returners.

I've spent a week just eating and drinking whatever I wanted and now feeling very bloated and blah.  There's still chocolate in the house but I don't have to eat it all in one go, I can have the odd piece here and there.  Really trying to work on my mindset around food more this year.  In fact last night I didn't force myself to clean my plate so have leftovers for dinner tonight which means one less meal for me to cook 👍

Also back on the working out train - started a new 2 week challenge yesterday and my legs are really feeling it today 🤣 and I want to get back into running this year but that might have to wait till my legs don't feel like lead!

Food wise today I've had some bran flakes with blueberries for breakfast, lunch is going to be a picky plate of pickles, bit of cheese, cherry tomatoes etc. and dinner is leftover turkey and tomato risotto with some salad on the side.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all, didn't that rain come down last night!  Kept me awake for quite a long time so not feeling as rested as I thought I would this morning.  I've got my hairdresser coming to cut my hair at 9 so better not stay on here too long as still need to clean my teeth and do my hair again!

Welcome to all the newbies and returners.  If you're not a fruit and veg lover it can take a while to start using it more - just add a little to your plate and gradually increase it - I probably eat far more veg now than I used to and I was always a veg eater even before SW - it's usually the first thing to be eaten.  I generally leave the carbs until last so if I'm full I don't eat them all.  The protein and veg are of more use to my body than the carbs.

Good luck @Longwalker with Dry January - you've done it before you can do it again.

    Today's plan:

    B - porridge, fruit - HEB; S; F
    L - jacket potato, tuna mayo, salad - P; S; F; 1
    D - sweet and sour chicken, rice - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - oats
    Syns - LTL mayo

    Have a good day everyone.
