Thanks Bubbs
i did SW a few years ago and got to target but then we had a holiday, then lockdown, and I just have gradually put weight back on. I’ve been ill recently and realised it’s time to start looking after myself properly to give myself a fighting chance if I get ill again.

As @bubbs said, many people carry on going to group after they've reached target to give them that accountability.
Personally I go every 8 weeks to be sure I'm still in target and keep access to the website and app.
But the thread isn't just about maintaining, others are new to SW and working towards target.
You'll know the plan well then @cuddlymarm. I'd suggest you do your best to work your way back in, have as many SW friendly meals as you can, while eating up what's in store.

Morning all and thanks for the new thread @beanielou x
Welcome @cuddlymarm good to see you here - the support is great and you will get loads of food ideas and tips xx
Some small gains - well done guys. I’m not
weighing in for a few more weeks but am at top
end of target currently.
So I’m over Covid but now have cystitis - cannot believe it. I had one sachet of meds in the cupboard (that awful cranberry chalk that you dilute 🤢) and just stuck to soft drinks yesterday. So painful and means I was awake early today. I’m just having a herbal tea and will pop to Ts once it opens for more meds.We are hosting c.25 tonight. I made a chilli con carne in the SC yesterday and a veg spicy ratatouille so just need to cook some plain rice and make up some couscous and some slaw. The chopping is all done, I just need to make the sauce. Folks arriving from 8pm.We had very strong wind and rain here last night and the gazebo DH borrowed from a friend nearly took off. Just looking at it now - roof full of water! Thankfully the weather seems to have calmed down.Food today will be M&S porridge for breakfast with skimmed milk. Not sure about lunch but definitely some fruit (NOT satsumas 😳) as have been particularly lacking these past few days.Wishing all of you a very happy new year and thanks for your company and wisdom over the past year. Looking forward to what 2024 has in store for us all.Coxy xxCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1 -
I've posted over on the old thread but just popping in here too.
Welcome @cuddlymarm. This thread is so useful in helping to keep us on the straight and narrow. As has been said above I don't weigh every week anymore although I did up until about a year ago when my old group shut down so I now have to travel to the next town for group (about 15 miles each way). I don't have a set pattern to when I weigh as a lot depends on when my holidays are - we like to get away as much as we can now we've retired both flying and in our motorhome. I've decided I'm going to go to WI this Wednesday as if I'm out of target I'll still have my grace week to get back into target before going away for 2 weeks All Inclusive in Lanzarote and then won't need to book holidays for those 2 weeks.
I agree with @maman that it would be a good idea to try to make as many SW friendly meals as you can but using up the food you already have in which you're intending to use up before you start properly. Are you going to be going to group, an online member or just going it alone?
I'm keeping the syns low again today - just 2.5.
Food today:
B - fry up with LF sausages - P; S; F; 2
L - burger, onions, gherkins in WM soft pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
D - roast chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, green veg - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - WM soft pitta
Syns - LF sausages 2; LF burger 0.5
Have a good day everyone.

Good luck with your party tonight @Coxy11. You've made very good food options both for SW and because I think it's easier to serve hot food than loads of beige junk. You can always freeze any LOs too so it's wins all round.
I went a bit off the rails last night. ☹️ I'd had a very late lunch then a small (for me) dinner as wasn't really hungry. So, later on I felt like eating and had fruit cake with Stilton and then a bag of crisps. I've got a few chocolates to finish so hopefully I'll see those off today and tomorrow and then 100% back on plan. 🤞
I've got just under 4 weeks before WI so should be OK.
Will post menu later as not sure about lunch. 🤔0 -
Hi guys
As I said I’m not really starting until I come back off holiday. But as it’s half price electric at the moment I’ve got potatoes and leeks layered in the big slow cooker and veg stew in the little one. The stew will be for my lunch tomorrow and for work on Tuesday ( also Wednesday if there’s enough) with the leek and potato for tonight with cheese on top. We’ve got guests this afternoon so there will be cake and biscuits but there’s beans in toast for brunch so really I’ve not gone too mad.
My aim is to use up all the expensive stuff in the freezer in case there’s a power cut while we’re away and then get a big shop when we come back. I will just buy fresh veg and any bits I’m desperate for and make do as much as possible.
Anyway have a lovely New Year’s Eve and see you all next year 🥳🥳

Welcome onboard @cuddlymarm it’s a great supportive wee group here.I’ve obviously taught both DSs to share too well because I’m now full of the lurgy. Feeling rather sorry for myself and even made a hot toady - kill or cure I reckon. May kill as I hate whisky!Upside is I’m not eating much 😁 This year will bring a lot of change for me - early retirement, big birthday, travel plans, potential house move and …target 😁🎉. Anyway just in case I’m not back on before the bells, I wish you all a happy, healthy, wealthy new year 🥰🥰1
