'Lose pounds more in 24 with Slimming World'

Welcome Sarah. I've been in this wee group since I started SW 12 weeks ago and honestly it's been invaluable.
Lots of great tips here and a bit of craic and genuine care for each other which makes it all so much easier.
I've really struggled at times. The weight is coming off. In fits and starts! Will lose 4 or 5 lbs one week then nothing the week after. In 12 weeks I have had 1 gain of 1lb but have managed to get the club 10 award (10% of body weight lost) and managed the 1.5 stone.
The weeks when I haven't eaten proper meals I haven't lost. When I eat more, I lose more.
Weather still minging here but went out for a run in bucketing rain and dark with my buddy last night. Not kidding, it was one of the most fun runs I've ever had, even though I got drenched by an eejit going through a puddle. We laughed and grinned and thoroughly enjoyed outselves.
Busy old day today and will try to plan some decent food throughout the day. Out to a Muslim panto with my friends tonight. Might be wonderful or carp but is a chance to get together. Will go for food after so will try to make good choices.0 -
Good morning all,
Gosh the rain last night was torrential! Really hope everyone on here is safe and isn’t too affected. Calmer today but a bit chillier and set to get colder from tomorrow.
We had the SW curry last night and I simultaneously made fish pie which made for an interesting niff in the kitchen! Pie just needs heating through later. I used up some Christmas cheese in the mash too – a 1/5th of a Boursin which between 4 of us will be negligible syns. I managed a full nights’ sleep without needing to get up which was good – almost 100% back to normal now with symptoms all but gone. We have a fairly quiet weekend ahead which is much needed.
I’ve bought in overnight oats, veg chilli and couscous, satsumas and an apple. Work-time food a bit samey this week but just trying not to spend anything. A school mum friend also works here and we are meeting for a coffee at lunchtime so a couple of ££s there. I will stick to skinny flat white – other than that I’m on water still throughout the day to aid my kidneys/bladder and general wellbeing!
Oh @NornIronRose your run last night sounds amazing. I’ve not been running for ages – lost my confidence after going over on my ankle taking in the washing (not even joking). Need to try to factor in some exercise again but just too pooped atm.

Morning all, it was definitely another very wet night with heavy rain. Doesn't look too bad this morning but is definitely spitting so just hope it doesn't get too heavy as need to go to Canterbury Hospital for DH to have a scan following his op back in September to make sure everything is OK. Follow up with the consultant will be towards the end of February.
We're going to make a day of it and have some lunch in Canterbury and a wander round before going to the hospital for a late afternoon appointment. Should be hope early enough to get dinner sorted out OK.
Rather you than me @NornIronRose out running in the rain! I don't do running at all just walking which I enjoy but definitely don't go out in the rain to do it!!!! Enjoy the panto tonight with your friends. If it's carp at least you're catching up with them.
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs and spinach, toast - HEB; P; S
L - eating out - will choose sensibly as definitely want a loss this week which is a big ask after going over syns Wednesday night!
D - jacket potato, tuna mayo, salad - P; S; 1
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - LTL mayo 1
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all, welcome @Sarahwithlove we’re a friendly bunch 🙂
Spent a bit - lot - of time batch cooking last night so now have 6 x chilli, 6 x bolognaise, 4x double portions of meatballs, 4 x tomato and red pepper soup and 8 (!) x lentil soup. Every nook and cranny in the freezer is filled 🤣 and it kept me busy and my kind of eating and alcohol 🎉🤣. Will also need to add freezer bags to my shopping list haha.
Good you’re feeling better and almost back to normal @Coxy11. Your run sounds fab @NornIronRose i don’t run any more and do miss it from time to time. Zumba and Pilates are about as much as my knees will take these days.
Food this week has been really mixed between not being well and finishing off all the Christmasy bits so will not be surprised if it’s another gain tomorrow.Just had bran flakes HEB with yoghurt for breakfast, lentil soup for lunch and dinner will be whatever needs using up in the fridge.
Have a good call everyone!0 -

Welcome aboard @sarahwithlove. As @Nornironrose has said, we are a friendly bunch and help each other. through the rough and the smooth. They have been a life saver for me , oh how I ranted and raved at about 12 weeks into my journey when I was bored and fed up and seemingly going nowhere , but they got me through@jellybaby - How productive. Great idea for filling the time that would have been filled by having a drink. Im kind of opposite to that, I dont want to be in the kitchen as thats when I would be drinking so my cunning plan, is leaving everything last minute so Im too rushed emptying the dishwasher, prepping, cooking, laying the table to think about a drink, the rest of the evening Im ok@Nornironrose , that had me laughing. Me and my friend have looked complete twits out walking in torrential rain wearing our capes, you know those capes you get for festivals and outside concerts? lol But as we say - at least we are out there getting in the steps
@coxy11, I love fish pie. I always pick up the packs of fish pie mix when reduced and tuck them in the freezer. I bulk them up a bit with some prawns and any other bits of fish I might have got in my travels - all YS. And add a hard boiled egg. Hope you are feeling better today
@maddiemay , sure you will get that off soon enough. You at least faced the scales before it got too out of hand, the reason I still go weekly so any small gains are easily dealt with@bubbs, omg I cant believe you woke hungry lol. You are always so organised and have such great plates of foodWell Im holding in there. I thought I was going through withdrawal yesterday, headachy and not really feeling it at all. Im usually bright and cheery but not yesterday, I came home shattered and wanted to sleep, so not me at all. Still by time I went to bed had a sore throat and was snotty with a tickly cough so it seems it was that, Ive been smit. Feel pretty rough today. We were going to go out but its been tipping it down today so I decided to work through the veg I had here from the buys before Christmas and made a huge pot of Broccoli and Stilton and a bigger pot of curried parsnip. I ve left the stilton out of the soup and am just crumbling into the bottom of the bowl so I can keep an eye on the portion - very nice it is as well if I may say soAnd for the veggie dodgers, its really a good way to get the green veg in
Tonight those two are having fish and chips - cooked here, I shall have more soup and I need some protein so Im thinking ham and egg salad sandwich to go along with it. WI tomorrow and even though Ive not touched a drop and I dont think Ive gone OTT, the scales are not looking good. I think like @Nornironrose Ive not eaten anywhere near enough this week. I mean Ive eaten what I would usually have but of course I kept that really low to allow for the drink. So now a new struggle , finding a new balance. Still, all good fun and I know you guys have my back xxxx1 -
Welcome @Sarahwithlove
Hope everyone is managing to keep dry - I'm not sure its ever going to stop raining.
Was delighted to lose 1.5 lbs at WI today. Only another 1/2 lb to lose and I'm back where I was 3 weeks ago. I can do that this week.
B. banana in group
L overnight oats
D a very naughty Cornish pasty! I will also have a couple of small glasses (I've only got small wine glasses) of wine later.
