I'm glad you didn't post about the pasty earlier in the week @joedenise. I was really fancying one on Monday as I knew I'd be close to a baker in Winchester that does really good ones. 😋 What's in your HM ones that you can eat at the moment? 🤔
The quick dry towels aren't microfibre. My JL ones are 70% cotton and the rest polyester but feel like cotton. The M&S ones are apparently 100% cotton but haven't tried those so don't know if they're as effective.

It's a glorious day here. We had a good walk this morning and it was a pleasure to be out in the sunshine.
I had some salmon flakes to use up so made another pasta salad as I'd enjoyed it so much on Monday. I've put Bolognese in the SC too. When I went to make it, I had no tinned tomatoes so used passata then went to add puree but DH had used the last of it and thrown it away on Tuesday when I was out. I'm sure I could have squeezed a bit more out! 🤣 Actually it was a jar and I'd have rinsed it into the sauce. So that's two things to put on my shopping list for tomorrow.
Today's plan -
B - HEB toast, fried eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA1 milk for drinks
L- salmon pasta salad (P,F,S), lentil and veg soup (P,S)
D - cottage pie (P,F,S and HEA2 cheese topping), cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)

The pasty was lovely - really enjoyed it. I make shortcrust pastry using 8oz of flour (it's the only thing I measure in oz! everything else is grams).
The filling is skirt beef cut into thin slices, diced potato and usually diced onions but today I just sprinkled in a load of onion granules and it tasted just as good as real onion. I make them really big - they were wider than the dinner plates and only just fitted on my baking sheet!

Glad you enjoyed your pasty @joedenise. 😋 As you have to follow this strict diet, you might just as well enjoy it!
Well done for resisting the Danish @bubbs. 😇
Yes, @beanielou, they are really good value. The John Lewis ones are in their Anyday range which I've found very good even for clothes. I bought a dress a couple of weeks ago. 😁0 -

Afternoon all, it's a gloriously sunny day today. Went out to do a bit a shopping and rather than parking at Aldi we walked from Tesco's carpark (it's much easier to park there!). About a 10 minute walk each way and we came back via the High Street as DH wanted to have a look in the Travel Agents windows to see if there are any good deals yet for early next year! I've told him we're not booking anything else until we know when his knee replacement op is taking place - it's far too expensive for travel insurance while he's on the waiting list! I've just paid nearly £400 for a 2 week holiday in September with waiting list cover in case it turns out that's when it is.
Today's plan:
B - bacon sandwich (really missed not having mushrooms and/or tomato in it!)
L - fish pie (from the freezer - but forgot it had peas in it so had to pick all those out! didn't realise there were so many!)
D - spag bol (will need to use onion and garlic granules and carton of passata; will make a tomato sauce first and save half for another night before adding the meat)
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - don't think there are any but had plenty yesterday with the pasty!!!!
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Won't you have to syn the bread if it's white @joedenise? 🤔
Glorious day here too, bedding on the line. 😁
I agree it's crazy about travel insurance. The world and his wife must be waiting for an appointment of some sort at the moment.☹️ I think the underwriters should take that into consideration.
I've got to do my shopping list and meal plan. Next week is going to be all over the place. It's my birthday on Tuesday and extra food and wine syns will be involved at different times. In between I'll stick to the plan.
Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L LO cottage pie and veg (P, S, F)
D- chicken (P), chips (F), green stuff, tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
Syns - weekend wine 😋
