Sorry to hear your dh's job is uncertain Coxy. I hope he gets some good news soon.
Bubbs you have a great attitude! Hope you manage to stay home and dry.
Longwalker glad Buddy is doing a bit better. I can imagine how stressful that was for you.
Well, I went to WI yesterday. Had 1.5 days off plan, but nowhere near what I would have had before. Extremely pe3d off to have gained 2.5 lbs!! Was on plan all the other days but maybe not eating enough after my weekend excesses.
Same gain as when I was off plan with holiday, covid etc for 3 whole weeks and ate all the carp I could get my hands on!
How the hell is that even possible? I have had a weird menopausal week, with stress, anxiety and palpitations. Not sure if that has had a bearing. Now properly in menopause with 13 months since last LMP. Maybe my HRT needs increased.
Weird and annoying. But a first world problem so I shouldn't complain.0 -
Hormones, and the lack off, play havoc with your weight @NornIronRose. I cant mind when my last period was, back in the O0's ( coil so hard to mind) but Im definitely post menopause now and still I have what I can only describe as PMT every now and then, skin goes to pot, get bloaty and stroppy and the weight gain shows - last week for instance . Just keep on track and the loss will come , you know that. But it is demoralising when you feel you have been good and the scales dont play ball@Bubbs, fingers crossed you get to stay put. Do they not open community centres to kip in for the night instead of all this hotel malarky?@jodenise, sorry you still arent feeling too good. Hot toddy to the rescue is a good call. You must be feeling run down if you are napping@maman, as you remind us , life is what it is, just enjoy the day and back on plan asap . Talking of chips in pubs, we dont have many chain pubs over here, need to go to Belfast for a Wetherspoons and theres a Brewersfayre in Carrickfergus so obviously we dont go often. What I have noticed though, they all do oven chips nowadays , like when did that become a thing? Even in Dobbies it was oven chips!! If Im going to blow it by eating out, I want a proper chipThanks everyone for the best wishes to Buddy. Last night was proper scary tbh Seeing him struggle to breath - hes a pug cross, he usually snores, but his breathing last night was so laboured and he was so hot. Still hes a lot better today, still sleepy and subdued but hes eating a lot better. Hes had a couple of short walks and we will keep him on those till next week.
This is him, refusing to take any notice of me and giving me the sad face when Im trying to get him to go out for a wee before I go to bed1 -
Morning all, have run out of fruit yet again so another shop needed today! I've added a bit of salad to the list as well as only got lettuce and cucumber left now plus some pickled grated beetroot which I got last week but still haven't tried!
@Longwalker - Glad to hear Buddy is better after the horrible night you had. Hope you managed to get him out for wee before going to bed! It's annoying when they get stubborn like that.
@NornIronRose - I know it's annoying when you get a gain with just one day off plan but stick with it and you know it'll come off again next week. It happens to us all from time to time!
Hope you didn't end up having to move in the early hours again @bubbs and actually got a good night's sleep in your own bed.
The hot toddy certainly helped with a better night's sleep - only woke up once with a coughing fit - it is just so chesty now. I'm also waking up with a sore throat but think that's probably because of mouth breathing during the night as it wears off once I'm up and about.
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash with home smoked bacon lardons - P; S; F
L - jacket potato, beans, salad - S; F
D - fish pie, green veg - HEA2; P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - not planned but may find something later if I want something
Syns - none planned
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, you’re all correct - how did I ever find the time to work 🤣🤣 I’m assuming things will quieten down eventually.
Hope your warm and dry @bubbs the fact you’re still on plan with all that you have going on is inspirational.
Good to hear you’re feeling better @joedenise. I’m similar, had cold/flu since Boxing Day, just get over one bout and another starts.Buddy is a cutie @Longwalker
Im waiting on a few deliveries so a day at home (which I’m really happy about, even the housework 🤣) and need to empty the fridge freezer as the drainage vents have frozen up again. I’ve a few bags of raw stewing steak and link sausages. If I cook a huge pan of stew can I freeze again? I know it’s safe to do this with the meat but will the sausages be OK? I don’t eat sausages but don’t want to poison DS2!0 -
Hi all,
Sorry for lack of posting, not busy just nothing much positive to say.
Sorry the flooding is affecting you @bubbs so stressful for you xx
Glad Buddy is feeling brighter @Longwalker – very cute dog x
Feel better soon @joedenise x
Annoying about the gain @NornIronRose – can sympathise with the meno symptoms although I’m not on HRT….yet….
Glad you are enjoying your retirement @Jellybaby x
Food has been good apart from Wednesday when we had mussels, fries and bread plus I’ve had some wine syns this week. Expecting a gain tomorrow at group but that’s fine – at least I know where it’s from.
DH waiting for final news of his exit package and looks to be leaving on Thursday next week. He carried over some holiday and needs to take it or lose it. He’s okay, bit fed up that this is happening to him again and it’s hard to not take it personally tbh.
Dinner tonight is ginger and soy salmon with green beans and broccoli.
Have a good day all.
