So sorry to hear your news @Coxy11. That's so brutal to be out so quickly. ☹️ I do hope he's able to find something else suitable quickly. 🤞

There could be any number of reasons for the gain @NornironRose. Probably the hormones are causing water retention so not showing a true reading. Keep plodding. 🤗

I had a chicken terrine followed by steak and chips at lunchtime. It could have been worse as terrine was lovely and fresh, not fatty at all and served with salad not bread. I did have pepper sauce though. Not counting syns today. I'll be back on plan tomorrow. 😁

Thanks for the photo @Longwalker. Glad to hear Buddy is feeling better.

Can't remember when 2 hexa came in, but if it's 2 hexa and 1 hexb the only thing that will be changed is a few syn values and we can help you out with those

  • Sorry to hear that your hubby is losing his job so quickly Coxy. Hope he finds something suitable soon.

Bubbs that's wonderful!!!! It must feel great! Very shiny sticker. Enjoy.
  • First off, CONGRATULATIONS on the new shiny @Bubbs xxxxxxxx  Bet you are over the moon. I always am when I get one, its good to have the hard work acknowledged

@joedenise, a good nights sleep makes everything feel a bit better. I usually end up sleeping propped up on the sofa when Ive the cough, it helps me for sure

@coxy11, Im so sorry to hear hubby has been let go. Is he close to retirement age? Make sure he signs straight on for New Style JSA, hes entitled to that if hes paid stamp for the past 2 years for 6 months and it will give a bit of breathing space. Its not a lot but its something. And sure post the rubbish as well, we all need an outlet and heres as good as anywhere, amongst "friends"

@jellybaby, in another month you will be wanting back to work for the rest :)  Sausages will be fine xx

@beanilou , that cute face is what stops him from getting a boot up the backside :) He is the most stubborn obstinant dog you have ever met. And a complete bundle of fun  :) Love the wee critter to bits :)

@Gilly82, there probably isnt much difference. The guidence at the moment is 2 Healthy Extra A.s ( dairy ) and one Healthy Extra B ( grains including wholemeal bread)  and no more then 15 syns a day  so if thats what your book is saying all is good. You may not have a complete up to date list of what constitutes a HEA or HEB, but then they change every year anyways as products come and go and recipes change. You should be grand using them

Morning all, a dry day in between a couple of showery ones so another load of washing done and on the line.

Had a decent night's sleep last night - slept until 5.15am when I needed a wee!  Managed to get back to sleep and didn't wake up again until nearly 8.00am.  Not coughing as much this morning either although it's still there but not shifting much - just sounds awful!

@Longwalker - even after 14 years of not working (early retirement for medical reasons) I've never felt like going back to work!!!!  Can't think of anything worse, especially the nearly 2 hour commute each way!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up - P; S; F; 1
    L - creamy garlic mushrooms; toast - HEB; HEA2; S
    D - keema curry, rice - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - Primula Light
    HEB - bread
    Syns - M&S 3% fat sausage 1

Not sure who recommended these sausages, think it might have been someone on my groups Facebook page, but we think they are awful and definitely won't be buying them again!  Will use up the rest of the pack in a toad in the hole with plenty of onions to try to hide the taste a bit!!!

    Have a good day everyone.
  • @jodenise, it was a very tongue in cheek observation :) If I could cut my hours more I certainly would, keeps my mind a lot tidier As for sausages, I try to avoid them but if Im having them I just suck up the syns and have an enjoyable sausage - life is too ruddy short to be eating food you dont like

Ive had an up down week, stuck to plan most of the week, did have a couple of drinks last night - only a couple, and shifted a 1lb.

Been a ruddy expensive week, vet bill ( dont ask ) and glasses - heart attack prices, but Im happy with the ones ordered and got myself a pair of sunglasses. The sunglasses I could only get in single vision, my prescription is one of the highest they see but I want the sunnies for driving and for being outside so Long distance is fine.

Also spoke about the Macular Degeneration - apparently I DONT have it !!! I have something else, but the tests for that are the same as the ones for MD which is where the confusion arose. It means my eyesight will get progressively worse and prescriptions will be needing changing more often but I wont lose sight - YAYYYYYYY

So off to work shortly, just had a bowl of fruit and a Nestle Protein yoghurt - 1/2 syn and actually really nice and I have my fruit and yoghurt ( HM) ready for work. Tonights tea is our usual salmon chilli pasta which is near enough syn free - a wee blob of sweet chilli sauce and I have no plans on having a drink today.
