Well done @Mrsporridge xxx Speed is a bummer if you dont like veg, but mixed in a dish its perfectly acceptable - well Ive found that, I certainly add loads to Chinese and Indian dishes and when we go out for those meals Im more then happy to go veggie, because the flavour is there@Bubbs, OMG, how much more can you cope with? Id be booking not a hotel room, but the funny farm by now!! At least you are safe and thats what is important. Weight watching and healthy eating, you can go back to when life becomes more settled@maman , glad to hear you enjoyed the ballet. Im more of a musical theatre lass, never tried watching a ballet, other then those shown on the tv@jellybaby - happy retirement
OMG you are going to be so busy now you will wonder where you found time to work
I semi retired in 1999, as in I had a break down and never went back to full time employment. Im supposed to do four days of four hours at the moment but often get asked for an extra day and whilst the money is handy, I resent not being at home doing what I want to do within my own body clock
Im not doing good at allIm drinking tonightIts been a week from hell tbh. So much poo outside my control and this week its just got me down. I knew it was bad enough when my eating went tits up , then I weighed in today and whilst I hadn't eaten enough to keep a sparrow on a diet alive this week - I gained 1/2 a pound, Which in sensible mode I knew was because I wasnt eating but as I say Im down and defences are way down and I couldn't find a distractionMind I did get to park run today, first time since October and shaved 90 seconds of my PB so a positive at leastSo today has been carb heavy - within syns but more carbs then anything, and now Ive had enough syns for a week from whisky - and I cant even get drunkJust feeling sorry for myself I guess,Mr L has been like a bear with a sore head the past week, and I got pretty bad news when I went to the optician, my macular degeneration is worsening rather rapidly , which I kind of knew, I struggle to see now.0 -
@Longwalker. Sorry to hear about the macular degeneration. A friend has it & has regular injections to stop it from getting worse. It doesn’t improve it, just stops further degeneration.Take care.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Morning all, the ground is still very wet outside but not actually raining although forecast to rain again late morning. Had planned on doing a machine load of washing but that can wait until tomorrow now as it's supposed to be dry and cloudy/sunny all day.
Good to see you ate a bit more @MrsPorridge. You need to be eating plenty so your body doesn't think you're starving it!
Sorry you've had a carp week @Longwalker and hit the bottle last night. Draw the line and get back on plan and leave the alcohol alone - you managed to do Dry January how about seeing if you can do the rest of February too. Sorry about the macular degeneration - as @beanielou says you can have injections to stop it getting any worse. You need to look into that sooner rather than later.
Have booked a tip appointment today to take some rubbish down for my friend who doesn't drive so will probably pop into Tesco's while we're down there and get a couple of bits. I'll need to get more eggs as only have 2 left out the 18 I bought on Tuesday - although they were smaller eggs than I usually buy but got them half price. Also need to get some more fruit as not much left.
Today's plan:
B - fry up with 1 sausage (threw the other half away as couldn't stomach it!) - P; S; F; 1
L - burger, onions, gherkin slices in soft pitta - HEB; S; 1
D - roast lamb leg , roasted carrots, onions and peppers, potatoes, green veg - P; S; F - followed by almond rice pudding - HEA2; F; 1
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - almond milk
Syns - sausage 1; burger 1; 100ml almond milk 1
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all 😁
We are at home now for a while, so I have boiled 9 eggs as one was cracked in the packet, that's why I was hungry yesterday not enough protein. I'm going to morrisons today, going to buy a cooked chicken and some salad to have in hotel room.
I bought satsuma, banana and Grapes yesterday, still have satsumas and banana's left.
Will see if I can tackle something together here, trouble is most of anything I can just eat is where we are staying, can't even have a jacket potato as there all there 🤣
Longwalker sorry about your eyes, give your head a wobble about the whisky, apart from making you feel down today what else has it achieved? I do understand where you are coming from with it being an addiction but you CAN do it, good luck and you will smash the scales this week.
Was lovely here but clouding over, hope it ain't going to rain!
Denise can I come yours for lamb roast?🤣 I'll wash up 😂
Anyway we won't be going through this next year as have booked air b&b!! The rate this years going it will be cheaper and no worry! Thanks for that @bubbs - don't think the joint's big enough for 4 people! It was supposed to be a leg but to my mind it's a small half leg!
Good that you can go back to the lodge but a PITA that you're already booked into the hotel for another 2 nights! Good idea to book an Air B&B for next year - probably cheaper doing it now than nearer the time.
Enjoy your roast dinner!0 -

Longwalker sorry to hear you've had a really sh*tty week.
Start over again today. Amazing well done on shaving a whole 90 secs off your parkrun pb! I'm still trying to get back to form after covid but did manage sub 44 yesterday instead of the 55 and 50 since covid.
Had another couple of days off plan. Met up with my besties for a late lunch on Friday. Had chicken shawarma with rice and salad and it was flippin lovely. Then was tempted by a slice of carrot cake. Apatt from the cake the rest was fine.
Saturday had a meet up with my marathon girlfriends. Everyone brought a dish. Chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn pie with some creamy swede mash. Absolutely delicious. Also had 3 tyoes of salad. So some on plan, some not.
DD1 was up just for one day and wanted fish and chips for tea. I had a tiny bit of her fish then finished off her chips then had a whole bar of chocolate after. It was a s*d it day for sure.
Back on plan today so I'm happy and hoping the scales aren't too judgy by Wednesday! Sat down with a plate of satsumas, a pear and sugar snap peas while watching the rugby. Go Ireland!!!!!!0 -
You've had a tough week @Longwalker, what with your DH and the bad news from the optician. Congratulations on the PB though and let's hope you can draw that line ASAP. 🤞
You've done the right thing to get straight back on plan after your meals with friends and family @NornironRose. I think we have to work around SW or we'll get fed up. It's getting back that really matters. Stay in control.
You're all over the place (literally) @bubbs. I do hope the rest of the month goes smoothly.
We had rain promised @joedenise but it didn't happen. I managed to get the bedding out in the line for a while until someone lit a bonfire. ☹️ It's almost dry though and finishing off indoors.
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, egg, bacon (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
L- veggie omelette (P, S), pickles (
D- JO roast pork (P), SW roast potatoes, parsnip (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns - gravy 4, weekend wine 😁0
