Morning all, I slept a bit better last night after having some hot whisky, honey and lemon so a few syns had to be used!  I also used a syn for the chicken kebab as the marinade definitely had a bit of oil in it.

Agree with @beanielou you should be extremely proud of doing dry January and not going for the drink last night - keep it up.  You say yourself that final 7lb is wanted more than a whisky!

    Today's plan:

    B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
    L - LO chicken kebab, salad, pickles - P; S; 1
D - fish pie with peas - P; S; F (using a cheese sauce from Tastefully Vickie which just used half HEB and half HEA per portion)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2/HEB - milk/oats
Syns - oil in marinade 1

Will let you know how the cheese sauce turns out!

    Have a good day everyone.

@Longwalker well done winning that very strong internal battle and good luck with the WI on Saturday.

Your comment about wanting the 7lbs more than a drink has rung a bell loudly for me.  I had been doing pretty well with SW plan this week and my aim is to fit back into the new (unworn) skinny jeans I bought when I was (very) happily sitting midway within range, until yesterday afternoon I felt I needed a little time on my own, called into cafe for a cuppa, saw the lush looking carrot and walnut cake and ordered it - yes it was gorgeous, but far too much and a wee bit sickly, £4 and according to the book 25.5 Syns, add the 7 Syns previously eaten earlier, oh well today is a new day.

    Have a good day all.

  • Thanks guys, your support is a great help, thank you

@maddiemay, sure we have all been there and got the tee shirt , theres been days in work where I have scoffed everything in sight, and OMG we do a HUGE range of zillion calories a portion cakes. And you know its always been times when Ive been happy with weight loss. I think I get too content and think Ive done so well, I can afford a wee treat. Unfortunately for me it triggers the sugar craving and it never stops at one treat :(

Get those jeans out and try them on. See how much room you still need and focus on that. You have paid good money for those jeans, you have lived in the past with clothes shoved in the wardrobe unworn , thinking I'll just lose a pound or two to get in to them and never did.  Well now you are losing that pound or two so focus on that.

When I go spectacularly off plan, I reign it back by eating just speed and free for a couple of meals till Ive earned those syns back. Means I miss out on some beautiful dinners that I still have to cook for them, but it was my choice to  choose cake over weight

Right now Id be happy enough to stop losing. Im still that round orange only my legs and arms are now twigs, not even sticks , I can nearly close my hand around my arm under the elbow. Having such skinny legs means my jeans are now hanging below my !!!!!! - so not the look for a 60 year old. but I cant do up an 8 - and I have to wear jeans for work - tis the uniform ( you know how these coffee shops have to be oh so young and trendy nowadays )  so that 7lb is really really wanted , not only to get total body fat in to an acceptable range, but to make clothes look a lot better Oh why cant weight loss be equal all over??? Bloody menopause !!!

@joedenise, cant beat a hot toddy for sweating a cold out, I swear by them. Its the only time I get into a warm bed, I wrap myself up - dressing gown, socks as well and nightie, take a hot water bottle and drink the toddy and settle down. Sure I wake a few hours later totally boiling, so strip back to nightie and usually in the morning Im a hell of a lot better. And a hot toddy is so much nicer then the mustard plasters of childhood :)

Work today, the weather isnt great so in for another quiet day :( I made a pot of yoghurt last night so will take that, fruit and oat bran , that will keep me going. They want fish and chips for dinner - chip pan stuff so Ill have to find something else. I think Ive a few skinny burgers in the freezer, I never bother with the baps , and Ive still got those sweet potato fries, Im not fussed on them but I have to admit they are filling and Ive loads of salad

Weigh in tomorrow , and of course Im sat here feeling quite bloated and podgy  - always the way

Congratulations on completing Dry January @Longwalker! 👍🏼

We were in Belfast for a week in March last year and loved it. Our main reason for going was the Titanic Experience which was brilliant but we enjoyed everything we did. My favourite was probably the day trip to see the Giant's Causeway. That was good but what I enjoyed most was the rest of the trip around the coastline, the villages and small towns are so pretty. I couldn't get over how well kept everywhere was, people seem to take such pride in their homes especially neat curtains and gardens. I'd certainly recommend it as a city break.

It's amazing how many syns are in things like cakes. I think having a slice when you're out @maddiemay is the best way then you can draw the line whereas at home you'd be tempted by the rest of the cake calling to you .

Hope you feel better very soon @joedenise.🤗

I've done my meal plan for the week and will shop later today. I've got chicken defrosted for later. I'd normally do a fake KFC but instead I'm going to just season it with some garlic granules or similar.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB muffin, HEA milk for drinks, eggs (P), tomatoes (S)
    L- egg (P), bubble & squeak (F,S), pickles (S)
D- chicken (P), chips (F), carrot chips, green stuff, tomatoes, mushrooms (S)
    Syns- tbc

@Longwalker well done on doing dry January and good luck for your WI tomorrow.

I lost a pound at WI this morning, at least its going in the right direction.  Total of 1stone 1.5 lbs, still have at least another 2 stone to lose but I am determined to do it this time.

    B overnight oats
    L crustless quiche and salad
D Cornish pasty ! I know, but its my treat.  (28 syns)

I have decided to lump my sins together and use them weekly rather than daily  Have estimated the pasty at 28 syns.

    I ❤️ Cornish pasties @MrsPorridge. Enjoy! 😋

Well done on your pound. 👏👏👏

What I do for weekly syns is start with 105 and subtract as I go through the week. I have most of my treats at the weekend. I know that will work as I've planned Monday to Thursday with syn free days except for the odd tbsp of cornflour or mayo or low syn sausages, fish with a marinade or similar . I try to come in with syns to spare as then I have some leeway if I've gone over on milk or cheese because I tend to go by eye rather than measure.

Shopping all done and pleased that Aldi skinny sausages were 30 % off. 👍

    Evening all

Well done to the losers 👏👏

Longwalker, very well done 👏👏👏 yes i am knackered but it's my own fault as i never stop!

Tomorrow we are going home 10-3, need to try and sort the washing machine out , get some more bits to bring back what we have forgotten.

Today we went down DH's work, yes that's fine plus the following Monday as he has an eye test in the middle of the morning as he was supposed to be off then, but like he says really they don't have a choice as he would go on the sick, they know this now where as he had only had time off 10 yrs ago when he had cataracts done and that's in 18 years working for them.

    Drum roll please 😁

    Day on plan 😂😂

We went company shop after going dh's work, but it was rubbish! Then asda and tesco . i said to dh what are you having to eat? well he chose a mini pork pie and scotch egg, i had seafood sticks and grapes 😇😇 Fake KFC for tea.

I have not weighed today but will be Fridays while we are away from home

I have had two lots of lentil soup & toast.
Then as I had a pretty heavy fall I had some medical chocolate.
