I have been reading, but not posting, OH and I have not been ill as such, but not quite well, no energy and rather pulled down with worry about a family situation. Of course I have not been following plan either so have a gain to report. Trying to get my head right and feel better about the SW aspect of it now, it will take me a while to get back in range as I am not going to go hard while other stuff is going on.
I hope that everyone has been safe from the floods and high winds.

Maddiemay I hope you and dh get better soon and your family situation settles.
Well, I was delighted to WI at +2.5lbs! Genuinely happy with that. Anything less than a gain of half a stone was going to be great after what has been 3 weeks of hardly any exercise, meals out and then a week of covid in bed eating all the carp in the house!
So I'm back at 14 st 1. Will be back starting with a 13 next week all being well. Have been back on plan since Saturday because of you all, and I think that has made all the difference. Signed up for 12 weeks again.0 -
Well done @NornironRose. That's really good for 3 weeks off plan. So pleased you decided to carry on and good luck with the coming week. It's always brilliant to see a new number. 👍
Hope things settle very soon @maddiemay . Excuse pun but you have too much on your plate at the moment😉. One thing at a time is best until you're ready. Keep in touch with us and your RL group and you'll get back. 🤗0 -
Well done for sticking with it @NornIronRose and for signing up to the 12 weeks. That shows true commitment and you will
be back in the lower number next week for sure. Good luck xx
Sorry things are tough right now @maddiemay. Look after yourselves and keep posting xx
I received a Percy stocking from DSis at Christmas. Had the latest plush tree
decoration, some elf/reindeer jellies (not as nice as regular Percy’s), some Pig n Mix (mini pink smarties, snouts and jellies) and a net of Piggie Pennies which are pink chocolate (my fave). They are on the kitchen side and I am pacing myself with a few a day!We have booked an Italian place for tonight’s meal. Will have seafood risotto I think but will see what else there is mmmmmmmCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
@coxy11, have a wonderful day today, risotto sounds like a good choice
.
@maddiemay (((((((HUGS)))))) Life is a bummer at times and at times you need to concentrate on other stuff so you leave yourself behind, totally natural and understandable. Just do what you can, where you can, It will be so much harder if when you get through what you are going through, you then have what seems to be an insurmountable gain. to contend with.@bubbs, Im sure a few Percy's arent going to make a big difference, just dont forget to remove the brick from your pocket when weighing in@Nornironrose , well done xx See no matter, you already have the building blocks in place subconsciously , so whilst you felt like it was all pear shaped and no way back, you must have been pretty conscious on some level of what you were eating and the damage was minimal . You have got this. You have your targets, go get themI have had a dreadful week, seriously dreadful, how I didnt pick up the scotch last night I dont know - well I do, I held on to the fact that the crap Im going through right now will pass, it wont pass any faster with a drink!!So a couple of weeks ago in work, I was my usual cheeky self to a customer, only it landed like a lead balloon. I told my boss, said what I had said, and said no doubt there would be a complaintSure enough the complaint arrived on Monday and I was called in. Obviously I had to admit that I did say what I said, and how I saw it didnt go down well and did my best to placate blah blah. Both manager and area manager totally got me, know how I carry on and understood and were very supportive knowing I wasnt being rude ( I have a few letters and emails of commendation to my name ) and reiterated that I wasnt facing any action, it was just a fact finding so they could reply in fullOnly its me. OMG Ive been so upset, in tears even. Over dramatic or what. The reason the customer didnt take the joke, she had just buried her father and our coffee shop was a place her and him had spent many an afternoonIm totally beside myself that I added to this persons pain. I know I cant change what happened, I know the customer has been contacted and shes a lot happier now that shes been heard, but Im beating myself up. Its been two hard emotional days. I know it too will pass but Im feeling quite wrung out tbh
Then it gets even better. Got home, had a coffee, cooked those two duck breasts and duck fat roasties ( and veg ) left them to it and went to WI. 1.5 gain which I know its mostly cos I weighed in at night rather then morning so Im not bothered with that. Came home starved, only had had a cup of soup all day, coat not even off and Im grabbing stuff from the fridge when mother starts screaming the house down, Now I mean really having a paddy. Shes having a nose bleed, looks like someone has smashed her in the face, its bad. So I calm her, get her to the bathroom, tell her to lean forward and pinch hard, ice pack on neck, seriously the blood was !!!!!! out of her, 30 mins later I ring the out of hours, 30 mins later - been over an hour of bleeding now, they ring back and say straight to A&E. Now to be fair she was triaged straight away then we had to settle down for a 5 hour wait. After about an hour the bleeding finally stopped, we had kept her calm ( omg she was raging ) and she decided she would come home.It was 12pm time I got her home and settled . By this time, eyes hanging out of me, belly thinking throat been cut, what do I eat? A share bag of crisps!!So hopefully today and the line has been drawnOn more positive note, I set a new target and paid for the 6 week countdown, will start with next weigh in. Im totally motivated to get this, Ive been treading water and been becoming ambivalent of late and whilst the scales have up until last night stayed in my favour, Iv been feeling sluggish and ick, far too much beige has snuck back in and speed has disappearedSo new target and totally motivated, cant fail can I? LOL1 -
Oh @Longwalker so sorry that things have been rough for you x I too would have been mortified at unintentionally upsetting someone, but work have dealt with it and are being supportive. Try not to beat yourself up xx Sorry too about your Mum - that's a rough night for you both. I would have reached for the crisps as well, so don't be too harsh on yourself. Hope today is a better day, and good for you setting a new goal.
I am just back from the sadist who poses as a dentist. Usual check up. After last time (July) and a telling off about not flossing enough, I have religiously flossed every night, even when hiking or after a night out and even at 2am on NYD after NYE!! Well yet again she says I need a scale and polish. So fed up. We've been with the practice 20 years and it changed hands just before Covid. Now completely private. So that's £84 already spent today GRRR.
Have realised we haven't got DD a graduation card (oooops) so need to pop out now!
