Morning all, no idea what happened to yesterday's post but doesn't look like it posted!  Never mind, will just move on and post today's!

I weighed in this morning and have finally lost just over lb and am now just 0.2lb over target range so hopefully by next week I'll actually be inside range!  Won't be for long though as we're off on holiday again in 3 weeks time!  We're going to an All Inclusive in Turkey as can't go to France for a month which we had planned as DH's driving licence is still with DVLA and it won't be returned in time and his licence has run out so can only drive in the UK until they finally return it and it won't be in time for that holiday which we supposed to be going on 15th but DVLA want his GP to fill out a long form and he can't get an appointment (telephone call only!) until 17th!  He's really p'd off so decided to book to go abroad.

Well done @maddiemay on still being in target and good luck for a loss this coming week.

    Today's plan:

B - toasted cheese sandwich, pickled onions
    L - corned beef hash
    D - spag bol

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - corned beef 4

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hi all,

I’m still plodding along. I didn’t weigh at the weekend and won’t do this coming weekend either. I’m then hiking for 10 days so will miss the next two (this time, Crewe to near Bristol). Thinking I will weigh in again before the hen weekend which is first weekend of May. Then won’t need to weigh again until after the wedding.

Have been making my own version of the M&S orzo/sun dried tomato salad pot to take to work. It’s orzo, finely chopped red onion, 3 SD tomatoes cut up, finely chopped red pepper, red wine vinegar and a tsp of oil from the SD tomato jar. I’ve been making enough for two days’ worth. The M&S pot is £2.40 I think but this is much cheaper and a larger portion. The orzo was £2 for 500g in Sains but could probably get it cheaper elsewhere. Syns for the SD tomatoes plus a bit of oil but a very good replica of a favourite lunch pot!

We’ve had a couple of new to us recipes this week from the magazines. Slow cooked meatballs with tagliatelle (mixture of pork and beef mince plus fennel seeds) in a tomato sauce, and last night we had sweet potato and chickpea coconutty curry with basmati rice. Not sure who decides on portion sizes but the curry made 6 (coxy) portions!

Glad to hear everyone is doing okay. It’s DH’s birthday today and we are off out to a posh restaurant later. Received a £75 voucher for Christmas so that will probably just about cover the wine…..!

Good to hear from you @Coxy11. 🤗

The lunch box idea sounds really delicious. I must check out the syns for the sun dried tomatoes.🤔

You're certainly getting well down the country now in your hiking. 🤞🏼 the weather will be much kinder to you than on previous walks.

You're keeping yourself well in check @joedenise, especially as you've been away in the MH. Well done on your loss! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I do hope you enjoy Turkey. We love it there but have never been All Inclusive. We have an apartment where we have breakfast and then eat out the rest of the time. Turkish food is delicious, plenty of veg and salad but also loads of bread and I do enjoy baklava and fried courgette fritters! Which resort are you going to?

We're out tonight and my plan is to choose SW friendly food but have some wine as well.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs, bacon (P)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), spring onions, tomatoes, pickles (S)
    D- tbc
    Syns-?

Did anyone get a copy of the new magazine?
Apparently there is someone in it who uses neo-walk sticks to!

@maman - we're going to a resort in Marmaris - 5 star no less (that'll be a Turkish 5 star rather than a British I suspect as it's a 4T with Tui!).  We've seen a couple of You Tube videos about the hotel and the food looks brilliant with lots of SW friendly salads, fish and meats so hopefully the weight I put on will probably be from the alcohol!!!

Where do you usually go?  The only other time we've been we went to Kusadasi where the cruise ships come into - that was actually our first AI but it gave us a bit of a taste for it!  I blame it on DD1 as it was her that persuaded us to go with her, her then husband and our GD1 and that was a long time ago!  Our GD1 was about 8 and she's now 25.

We go to Kalkan now but have been all over Turkey at different times. Kalkan is a smallish resort, originally a fishing village. The old town is lovely still but much developed outside over the years. We stayed in a place next to Marmaris once and could get on a water taxi to visit the bazaar. I'm sure you'll have a great time. 😎🌞

Haven't seen the new magazine @beanielou but not surprised your glitter stick is famous! 😁

@maman - Apparently the hotel we're booked in at is about a 5 minute walk from the bazaar (assuming it's the same one of course!).

  • Denise there is definitely plenty of SW friendly food at an all inclusive in Turkey. We went several years in a row and so excited for it this May with my girls (and no ex!)
The issue will be avoiding all the yummy milk cake,  and I suppose the alcohol. I don't drink so it'll be the desserts I need to stay away from.

Just had a quick read through so hi to all.

Had a real wobble this last week. It's actually getting hard to stick to plan in Ramadhan. I think because I usually snack on speed all day and drink plenty.. now I'm fasting from 4.30am til 6 30pm. Once I can eat I just want to eat! And when I am having my breakfast at 4.30, I'm hungry and thinking of going all day fasting.
So I was feeling quite defeated (oh yeah, and no running doesn't help) and was hoping for a maximum gain of 2lbs this week and was going to just forget SW for the next couple of weeks.

Just been to WI and only gained 0 5lb!!!! Was really happy with that as I was out for dinner three times. That's the hardest thing. You go because you're invited, you're  hungry so you eat what is in front of you.
Only got two meals out planned over the next week so will stick with the plan on the other days and hope to at least sts.

I think you've done really well @NornironRose through Ramadan. 👏Only a couple of weeks to go but next week will be hard because of the clocks changing. Just do what you can and soon you can get back to your normal routine.

Glad to hear you're coping with the chest infection @bubbs. Who knows what WI will bring. 🤞

It'll be interesting to see what happens with drinks at the AI hotel @joedenise. We've noticed that drinks (alcoholic) have been really expensive as government has put on big taxes.

I made reasonable choices tonight. I had a prawn cocktail starter and then sea bass on a bed of chickpea, potato and spinach curry. Any syns would have been in cooking, thickening  the sauce and the mayo so not too bad I hope . 🤞 Plus wine syns of course. 🤣
