I was thinking that we should start a new thread with the clocks going forward. When I was out today, the sunshine had definitely brought out arms and legs that would have been better hidden. 🤣
Spring into Summer with Slimming World has been used before. Any ideas? 🤔0 -
Get beach body ready! Anyone? Me neither lol.
In my late 50s now and even though I'm lighter and slimmer I'm definitely saggier and no one's eyeballs need to see that.0 -
Happy Easter everyone. Hope you're not eating too many chocolate eggs or hot cross buns!!!
Morning all, it's a bit grey again this morning but hoping it will turn sunny later like it did yesterday as I've got a machine load of washing out on the line which I put off yesterday due to the forecast saying it was likely to be showery and we had a few spots for about 2 minutes and that was it so wish I'd done it yesterday! Still hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Think that's a pretty good title thread @NornIronRose but would add "with Slimming World" just to make it clear that we all follow Slimming World (or at least it's principles!).
You're still a youngster @NornIronRose - I'm into my 70s (72 today actually). Not doing anything special for my birthday but as I've said previously we've booked to go to Turkey in a couple of weeks time so it's sort of a celebration for my birthday, DH's birthday and our wedding anniversary!
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, toast
L - stuffed peppers
D - roast beef dinner with roasted veg, green veg
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - couple of G&Ts later
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Happy Birthday @joedenise!
Hope everyone is okay and is having a good BH weekend. I have had hot cross buns and chocolate and have enjoyed both 😊
Late lunch today is at BILs - think he’s planning a bbq but it’s a bit chilly.Meals are planned for the week. I’m away after Wednesday so DH and DD are having some naughty favourites!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1 -
Thanks @Coxy11.
Stuffed peppers didn't happen! DH decided he fancied Scotch pancakes so we both had a couple of those with a bit of butter, really enjoyed them as not had them since I started SW back in 2010! Wow didn't really it was nearly 14 years ago!
Just booked private returns from the airport to the hotel for less than £80 return! TUI prices start FROM £207! No way were we paying that price. We could hire a small car for 16 days for £10 more than that!0 -

Happy Birthday @joedenise. Have a syn free cake! 🎂🤣
That's an excellent price for an airport transfer. We always do that, it's so easy to just walk out of the airport and into the car and away! No hanging around for coaches. If you're flying into Dalaman then it's reputed to be one of the most expensive airports in the world for food. We get our hotel to make us up baguettes to go home or buy something in local supermarket.
Have a great trip @Coxy11. If you have time, please post some updates. It's good to know where you are and how you're doing on your hikes. 😊
I'm certainly working on the beach body @NornIronRose. It's about 10 weeks until we go away so I'm already planning how to be in target range before we go. First step is to WI this week and see what damage I've done with my birthday celebrations, weekend away for wedding etc. and put that right.
Going to make more meatballs while the oven is on today.
Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- Spanish omelette (P,S,F), pickles (S)
D- roast beef (P), SW roast potatoes and parsnips (F), many Speed vegetables (S)
Syns- weekend wine, and maybe some horseradish 2?1 -
Happy birthday Denise. Relax and enjoy. You deserve it!
PM me please the details of the transfer company. We are off to Turkey in May and it's the only thing we haven't done yet.0 -
Happy birthday @joedenise. Good luck for your walk @Coxy11, I would love to read updates too if you are able.
Beach Body, well gave up on that idea ages ago I will be 75 soon and like @NornIronRose I am lighter and slimmer, but somehow the body is saggier and the fat will not leave my middle. I am considering joining a gym after my hols in May, mainly for strength and flexibility and to improve my weak core, pre-Covid I did a weekly session at a small private gym with 1-1 with a great PT, sadly it has closed now, hate the thought of all that equipment, but a friend in her 80's has found it so beneficial after breaking a hip, she went for 24 weeks, worked hard and loved it.
Enjoy what is left of Easter, I confess to 1 luscious HCB and a mega slice of Victoria Sponge so far, but not having any chocolate. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)1 -
Hi all,
I'm going to do my best at losing some pounds again, I'm not going to SW but will be following the principles of it.
For those that don't know me, I previously lost over 5st with SW, finished last year when my group closed, and slowly the weight has gone back on. This is entirely on me and I've slipped into all my old bad habits. Every time I say I'm back on it, I stuff my face! I bought Renpho scales and had 1 stone to lose, now it's 2.5st! So I've been completely out of control. I know where every lb gain has come from so that's a positive I guess in righting those wrongs!
I've just booked a holiday (51 days to go) I'd like to lose a bit more than a stone, but think 1st is realistic - hoping one good week will be a good boost! So I have the incentive and some summer clothes to get into!
Glad to see some friendly "faces" still posting
Happy Easter everyone!
