A gong bath? That’s confused my mind annd I just have images of Al Murray hitting a massive gong with me in a bath (a la Taskmaster style). Off to internet search what that is now!2026 decluttering: 1,654 🤑🥉 ⭐️🥈🥇 ⭐️ ⭐️💎 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️🏆⭐️

Thankfully (I think) the strong winds didn't declutter the kitchen debris on the drive all the way down the street. I had visions of all the cardboard flying off over the New Forest and the old cupboard blowing through a neighbour's window...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I would assume a gong bath to be like a sound bath, where they use those big crystal bowls. But the Al Murray image would almost certainly be funnier.

So sorry to read that @nannywindow 🙁
I have added to my charity pile:
A pair of jeans that fall down
A jumper with uncomfortable sleeves
A ring (costume jewellery)
3 pairs of earrings
A bracelet
That brings my total to 66 items 🎉

Found DD t-shirt in husband's wardrobe and one of his in mine 😂 it's what happens when we all have black t-shirts
Identified a place for my tree so will do that and some other outside jobs when weather better
Washing went on line for a bit then finished in dryer
Went in loft room and put away Chris stuff properly bought some junk down to bin and have some items to think about. All working towards my if we have to move do I want to take this plan20 -
Finally managed that tip run - the bag of tiny scraps from the sewing room, the plastic from under the sink, plus 4 bags of rotten wood from the garden, a smashed cafetière, and the two "bunny" seats from the car that sadly had to be scrapped before Christmas; they stopped folding down a couple of years ago & we hadn't needed them for several years before that! I also took an old sunbed from the garage; it was still just about usable, & much loved by the DDs, but was developing sharp bits round the edges & had "bitten" my legs a couple of times. We have new & decent garden chairs, bought in last winter's sales; the older ones should go now.Angie - GC June 26 £379.38/£450: 2026 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 24/66: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)22

I think a gong bath is just where you immerse yourself in the music/sounds, rather than just sitting in silence to meditate. I did have a meditation class where it was Tibetan singing bowls making sound, but this was years ago.
I went out and it is still very windy. I came home and sent the texts and the very lengthy email. I'm about to go and look through our wardrobes. I have two beauty products in the bag already. I was thinking of donating a jumper, but I tried it on and it looks fine so I'm wearing it today instead.

Well all the plans today to start the declutter were scuppered by the small person (I say small person but shes 13) having a dose of tonsillitis so I have spent the day with her mostly.
I have however gotten all the dishes that seemed to reappear after my son cleaned his room - now washed, cleaned and drying.
I do seriously need to have a declutter and I know it will be so much easier to do when the house is empty and no one here to stop me.
Setting a goal for myself. Trying for 100 things a month to be decluttered for the next year so I can keep a running total for myself.
So as of today I am 0 / 100
@weenancyinAmerica thank you fro the library link too. I am hoping to read more this year and have been looking for some audiobooks as well so just signed up for the library card to read some.Time to find me again24 -

E.g. every time you put something away in a drawer/cupboard, see if you can take one thing out to add to a box (you can set up charity, recycling etc boxes). You could also run around and see what you can do in 5 or 10 mins (set a timer). Yes, it's not the same as the traditional pulling everything out and looking at it before it all goes back nicely, but if you need to stop partway through at least you haven't made a bigger mess! Eventually you may need to rearrange drawers/cupboards, but if you can sift out one round of decluttering first it will be quicker. As with all these things, doing anything is better than doing nothing, so don't think you have to dedicate tons of time to even make a start. I now have a habit where every time I open a cupboard I think about if there's anything to go. Hoping then it'll be natural decluttering all the time rather than having to have a massive session, which I prefer.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
After posting last night, I decided to read a couple of chapters of Richard Osman’s 2nd book & promptly fell asleep on the sofa. I ended up going to bed at 08:00 😔 which of course this then meant that I didn’t wake up until 13:45😬 Oh well, it is what it is 🤷♀️ so I will go straight into cheerleading:-
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties especially the craft magazines 👏
Well done on getting over 50% of your ironing done Fizz2015 👏That is a lot of clothes 😉 However, once you start sorting I have every faith that you will make a huge dent in the numbers 😊 Good luck 🍀
BudgetingBelinda, excellent wardrobe decluttering 👏 & you have already found a ‘treasure’ - the lovely top 🥳 Remember “success breeds success” & the more success you have, the more in control you will feel 😊 Keep up the good work.
Florafauna, well done on the eclectic decluttering 👏
Dizzycap, keeping on top of the daily decluttering of emptying bins & putting things away is a big step forward on the decluttering journey 👏 Good luck with decluttering the 1st spare bedroom 🍀 Books get everywhere, especially as so many of the Declutterati are bibliophiles 😉 A great idea for decluttering the, I will go with, ‘not required gifts’ 👏 Perhaps you could decide who is to receive them, wrap & label them, then put in a box on the about to be decluttered book case 😉 Not only MSE but also organised & less to do in December 😊
charlies_tribe, sorry to hear that you have the January Blues 😔 (& sadly it is a ‘thing’ - I looked it up 😞) Meanwhile you have still managed an enormous amount of physical & digital decluttering plus munching away on several frogs 👏, so you should be very proud of yourself 🥹 A medal 🏅 is on its way. Hopefully this week, you will start to feel better as we are now halfway through winter & heading towards spring 🤞By the way, I read through your list & had a wry grin at the ‘legless Barbie’ followed later by the ‘bodiless Barbie’ 😀
betasam, An excellent weekend of decluttering, tidying & dealing with frogs 👏 Very impressed that you sorted out the “teetering pile of paper” & that in turn has led to you dealing with paperwork on a daily basis as well as sorting out the filing cabinet 🥳 Your 2nd medal 🏅 is on its way. Re the storage boxes, hopefully you can find an out of sight corner to stack them until you finish your decluttering & either use them or pass them on 🤞
I have caught up a little so will have a short break, decide on tonight’s dinner & have a short stint on the hob then return for a 2nd session of cheerleading. DH has gone out to post his 48 hour heart monitor thingy (was sent to him on Friday as his consultant wanted evidence of the frequency of under 40bpm 😉) & to get a haircut. Not sure what DSis is doing although it sounds like she is running a bath 🤔
