I am sorry to hear your news nannywindow.xxx
Your hob js coming up a treat Mrs SD. I have had 2 stainless steel cooking trays for about 40 years. I am obsessive about them never going away with marks on. I love a brillo pad. I picked this up from staying with an old Aunt in Canada for 3 months. They had a farm in the middle of nowhere and really lived old style. Everything was clean and neat as a pin. She took her job as farmers wife very seriously. Very little house on the prairie. Thank you for the medal. black sack of fabric and suitcase of wrapping paper collected. I intend to go to my Mum's house tomorrow with bit by bit to see if there is anything her boys and their families can make use of.
Oh, I almost forgot. Whilst we were food shopping Mr V bought a new mug. I would actually say he has an unhealthy interest in mugs! He ousted two and I ousted one when we got home. In the box for the charity shop tomorrow. I tried to buy glue dots but they were out of stock. I have gone rouge and glued an ornament to the back door window with uhu !

I'm out of the TLC carriage finally - the first day in almost a week that I woke up without a sinus headache. No decluttering today as I was catching up with myself - particularly admin.
Roofers were meant to be coming tomorrow to replace the skylight but understandably they've given me the heads up that they might not able to due to high winds.

charlies_tribe said:I'm not sure if I said in my last post but I think I realised the other day why we kept eo much stuff. DGD had a missing dinosaur from a set and it was driving me mad that I couldn't find it, then I realised that's why we probably have half the stuff we do, keeping hold of it until we find the missing pieces, that have probably already gone, missing or when I do find it I can't find the first bit I had!I have a toy of DD's that is in the charity box, but I can't get rid of it until I find the one missing bit. It's really annoying and I really never lose bits to things usually (plus it's quite big), but I just don't know where it is. I think I'm going to have to have a big search for it and if it doesn't turn up I'll have to bin it instead as it's useless without the last bit. It's annoying though as I hate binning things.betasam said:
What do you do with storage containers that you don't know whether you need? I now have a pile of pretty storage boxes gathering dust in the spare room but am reluctant to dispose of them until I am sure they won't be needed. I have reconsidered the cube unit in there ( it's enormous, 5x5, the largest the Swedish shop do) and would like to replace it with a wardrobe that has shelves in and a set of drawers for craft storage, but I think I will need some of the boxes. I need to find a dark corner to hide them in for now.2025 decluttering: 2,404🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

A pottering weekend, I've realised that I a flit when tidying/ decluttering I'm sure it would be better if I concentrate one room at a time 🤔 although some jobs are worth saving until the evening when I can watch TV and go though a drawer or some paperwork. TBH I'm picking the easy bits and the stuff with no emotion attachments
my airing cupboard is in the kitchen and contains a mix of towels, tea towels and kitchen tins etc in the bottom. Some old tins have been recycled I no longer need old biscuit or sweet tins to take cake to work and a couple of old tea towels have been binned and everything tided. A small old slow cooker about 35yrs old and not used for over 10 years has been unearthed and is in the pile to go to the tip the next time I book a slot. The large over the stairs cupboard in the small bedroom was also sorted and a pile of clothes which missed the last cull put into a bag for charity, an old single duvet is also put aside for a tip run. A couple of old Kipling handbags have been washed and I'll see if anyone wants then on the free FB page as there is life left in them if not they can be added to the charity bag.
Whilst dinner was cooking the fridge was cleaned and sorted and the menu plan tweaked to use stuff up from the back of the fridge

Not going on my totals at all, but removed two apps from my phone. Duolingo (because they've just replaced loads of staff with useless AI) and Just Eat because - as tonight has proved - TOO EASY.
My bro gave me some learning Japanese books, which is stuff in, but useful stuff and most welcome.Keep reading books!

Hi all,
@nannywindow so sorry to hear your news. Hoping that they can give you the information you need quickly and sort out the treatment. Big hugs
Today has been a slow decluttering day.2 bags of hard plastic to the tip, finally, on my way to the sm. OH is going to see the dniece tomorrow and has been batch cooking to take some to her. The upside of this is that the weeks worth of OH's washing up piled all over the kitchen has been done and I quickly also did mine so there is some working surface again, the downside is the fridge is full of food I won't eat as it is meat based but hopefully it will go tomorrow and I will them be able to crack on with some veggie batch cooking. I have also uu a box of tea bags so the space in the tea / coffee cupboard is getting larger
. One of my footy tv channels has decluttered itself annoyingly so I will have to try to sort that out tomorrow. Not something I am looking forward to as my experience of these things is far from satisfactory..
Off to bed, hugs to anybody who would like one
125 + 126 hard plastic to tip
127 box of tea bags in
Take care everyone

@nannywindow - Sending you hugs for you and your OH.
I cooked dinner tonight and last night. Been cleaning things out as I go. My new slogan is "If it is to be, it is up to me." I'm not waiting on anyone else to get things done. Been giving them some pushes, but they need to be able to stand on their own two feet - even if those feet are in bad shape.
Tomorrow is our board meeting for the Friends of the Library. Managed to get the agenda done and ready for tomorrow. Getting a bag of books ready to go also.
We are expecting rain storm tomorrow, but the ones we have had over the last couple of days barely watered the plants. I'll believe the storm when I see it. Hope all of you are staying warm and dry.22 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
We all enjoyed our dinners - DH decided on a couple of ham & mustard sandwiches. Wudupa. The fence panel did finally get blown down 😞
133 - 135 Kitchen recycling, glass jar, drinks cans - recycled
136 Kitchen detritus binned
I will catch up on the cheerleading tomorrow aka later today 😉

I am not very good at posting but I enjoy and read all your posts every day. Over the last couple of days I have realised that it would be sensible to use my current food stocks up, clear some space and sort the cupboards out. I have just squeezed 12 tins of pineapple in the cupboard because of a good offer in Lidl because 50 pence for a large tin was irresistible.
