I have just dropped off 2 bags of unwanted clothes, a spare coat, some books & a 45cm tall wooden duck at my local CR shop. I prefer to do drop-offs on a Sunday as the young chap who only volunteers then has excellent music taste & is always very grateful for donations, unlike his other colleagues.
I'm also about to declutter about 30 nail varnishes to my niece as I have now got a UV lamp & the gubbins to do my own gel nails. Niece will also be offered a pair of faux suede shoe-boots that are now too high for me. She's just turned 15 so approaching the age for heels!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hello all, sorry to have been missing again but I have decluttered a couple of hospital appointments this week as they have found I have cancer, now they have to determine to what extent. This sadly means we both have this dreaded disease 🙄 Anyway I shall be playing the hokey cokey in the TLC carriage for a while and dipping in and out of decluttering. Onwards and upwards I think !!
This week I bought new scatter cushions for the sofa so the inners of the old ones have bit the dustbin, but I have kept the covers (awaiting washing) as they match my curtains and I might put them back in the future with new inners. I have binned the bathroom mat set too as it was threadbare but I've replaced it. Out went a chipped tea plate and the box and packaging of our new upstairs TV. It's a bigger screen so I can read the menu without my glasses and the old one will replace the one in the 'van. There is a new cs type shop next to the tip that sells on almost anything and the proceeds go to charity, so we'll drop the extra TV off next time as it still works. Also decluttered quite a large parcel from my hall to DD today. There are a few other things gone but I can't remember what they are now, my head is still reeling.
Hugs to all, keep on decluttering.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Whilst I was waiting for the kettle to boil, I spent a few minutes on cleaning the hob - it is in a right old state 😔 I am being brave by putting up a photo - just hope you can see the tiny bit I have done 😉
vulpix, sorry to hear that the weight loss has stalled 😔 Being unwell & eating more because of the cold are not excuses just facts. You will soon be back on track once the weather warms up & you recover from illness 😊 A lovely chatty cheerleading post 😊 Nothing wrong with being pleased about the results of your sewing skills & step son’s DIY skills which have resulted in a cosy kitchen 👏 Excellent decluttering at your mum’s house 👏 There will be lots of very happy people once you have listed all that fabric on the Thrift site 🥳 What a great In/Out ratio - 1:3 👏
TC77, well done on concentrating on dealing with mega frogs 👏 The relief when they are dealt with should mean that your next round of decluttering will seem like a breeze by comparison 😊
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 I do believe that you will suddenly ‘notice’ that the tidying you are doing in each room has made a big difference 😊 Wishing you continued success in using up consumables that will not be replaced 🍀
Moorviews, well done on resisting the temptation to retrieve your ‘boots’ 😉 Excellent decluttering & tidying 👏 It sounds like you will soon be at the Maintenance Decluttering stage & will be able to devote more time to pleasurable activities like using up your yarn stash 😊
Siebrie, such a shame about both the sofa & the wardrobe 😢 Also sorry to hear that financial restraints meant that you had to buy what you needed rather than what you wanted 😔 Hopefully though the new wardrobe will make life easier 🤞As to your husband messing up his neatly stored clothing when you have gone to the effort of folding them & putting them away, I have every sympathy - my DH is exactly the same 😔
Florafauna, every item out is a win 👏
Fizz2015, more power to your DD 😊 & long may she continue to refuse to wear uniform with logos 👏 If you need any help decluttering the freezer, DH & I are more than happy to pop round for dinner 🤣
Welcome aboard the EDT sammy_kaye18 👋 How exciting - buying a house 😊 The perfect time to start your decluttering journey 👏 The more you declutter now the less packing & unpacking you will have to do 😮💨 Another upside is that it will save money as you will be able to hire a smaller van 😉 You have taken the first step by finding us & we look forward to cheering you along on your decluttering journey 🥳
QueenJess, a lovely welcome to sammy_kaye18 😊
Oh dear Dizzycap 😢 So very sorry to hear that you have both shingles & cellulitis 😔 😖 Hopefully now that you have finished dealing with the office, you will please, please take yourself to the TLC Carriage for a few days 🙏 🙏 Watching Sewing Bee sounds like a lovely way to spend your Sunday 😊
GrannyKate, that all sounds a bit stressful 😣 especially as you had been all set for a relaxing day 😊 Everything crossed that you have resolved the issue of the horrible smell in the kitchen 🤞
DH was in the garage zizzing food for the worms & has now fed both the worms & the birds 🙂 I am about to spend a few minutes in the kitchen 😉

Hello everyone and happy Sunday afternoon. I devoted an hour to decluttering and am amazed by what's gone. Here we go:
3 lipbalms ood
Homeopathic meds ood
Water dental flosser
24 books
A broken pen
3 ancient lipsticks
Very old handcream
A set of cards in a fabric bag
Broken wooden trinket box
A very old hairbrush
An ornament
Jewellery bag
Another ceramic ornament
2 balls of wool
Crochet hook
3 pairs of raggedy knickers
2 corks
We are planning on moving house in the next year and that has really focused my mind. I feel so encouraged by what everyone else is doing. Am now in the TLC carriage watching a film and knitting with a giant mug of tea

@Crazycatlady2 You can stick them anywhere in the ground, they're not fussy but water them well once a week or so for the first few months. You can put them in whenever becuse they should be tough as old boots unless they are used to being nice and warm inside. I had one called Frank, I put him outside at the top of the garden and he grew through the pot into the ground and ended up twenty foot tall before we had to have him chopped down, so work out eventual size and spread and plant accordingly.@WeeNancy I took you up on your offer of a free library card and joined last night... thank youI'm about to tackle the bathroom cabinet, there is make up in there I haven't used for years so it's time to wave bye bye to it. @Siebrie I did like your method of getting a new colour lipstick, I may do that with some of mineNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi21

Hugs @nannywindow, make sure you look after yourself in what is a stressful time.
@Crazycatlady2 This is the RHS advice.
https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/types/trees/christmas-trees
Having had a structural survey done on the house I'm trying to buy I would caution about planting too close to the house because of the chances of eventual structural damage. If I remember correctly the general rule of thumb is, plant no closer to foundations than the maximum height to which the plant can grow.
Fantastic decluttering everyone. Get well soon to all in the TLC carriage and stay safe all in this storm.Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

@nannywindow, so sorry to hear you cancer news . I’m amazed that you could then go on to post. Thinking of you, sending hugs and hoping better news comes along
@weenancyinAmerica, I too have joined. I was on the laptop getting figures for my tax declaration and I thought - why not - and 9000 magazines!
Hugs for all of us with troubles. DH ‘s broken bone in foot is not healing , but he’s walking quite well with the boot though I have to keep nagging about keeping it up and not standing. His age doesn’t help, but it could be worse.21
