We really had to empty neighbour's garage where we still had some large pieces stored. The quality 4-seater sofa I was looking forward to have refurbished*....had a dead cat on top. Poor thing, it probably came in to hide from the cold and then froze. Settee is now destined for dump, as I'm not comfortable having it back in my home in whatever way.
We rearranged the master bedroom to see how we can fit the antique German walnut wardrobe back in, but we can't, there's no way. I'm sad. We went to a discount furniture store and found what we needed for €389, but it's not what I wanted; what I want is way over our budgetWe also went to ikea, and for similar, maybe more sturdy, it was 4 times the price. And we really need a wardrobe, I'm tired of having my clothes on display and dust everywhere, and husband's clothes a mess 5 minutes after I put everything away neatly.
* it's at least 60 years old, bought by my posh Aunt and Uncle, given to my sister about 20 years ago and reupholstered by her father in law who used to do that for a living. He was retired by then, and the quality of the work is not ideal, but the structure of the sofa and the sturdiness of the cushions is still excellent. Much better than the ikea sofa we bought 10 years ago.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5916 -

Took 3 items to school uniform stall in the local library and returned with a PE top and polo shirt. Our school is pretty good and they can just wear the relevant colour polo's and cardigan/jumpers which is lucky as DD refuses to wear the logo ones.
Decluttered a lot of money at 2 supermarkets on big stock up. Started batch cooking and so far lasagne, cottage pie, chilli, chicken pie and Thai curry for the freezer. Though freezer tetrus was a fun challenge, which I eventually won!18 -

So everything gone will be a win in my book! Moving was what started me on this journey years ago.

Well done to all those who are battling through the clutter!Oh dear, it seems we're all either tired or unwell at the moment. I felt unwell over the past 5 days but kept going to get all my challenges done in between life and then had to go to doctors on Friday because I've got an outbreak of Shingles & Cellulitis at the same time - OUCH! PainfulHowever, I still managed to paint the office today after my declutter and Spring clean, so that's cheered me up a little but now I'm feeling rough, so early night and day off tomorrow
I might have a full day of repeats for all the series of the Great British Sewing Bee

Not much decluttering today. Had house to myself last night and woke up early and stayed in bed to read a book. Got up and unloaded/loaded dishwasher and made tea and porridge. Planned a leisurely morning. Sat at computer at 9.20 to put a couple of dates in calendar. It prompted me that I needed to be at a meeting at 10 which was 20 minutes drive away! Quick shower and threw some clothes on and arrived with 5 minutes to spare. Horrible smell in kitchen so I emptied bin and checked around but nothing found - washed floor with bleach. I think smell has gone but will see in the morning.

@Dizzycap - break out the calamine lotion. My mother used to use oatmeal in the tub when she had shingles but I'm not sure it worked better or it was just her way of getting away from the family for awhile.
This week has mostly been spent on doctor's appointments for three of us (I'm the only one of us still driving). Other than that, have spent a lot of time at the library as we had our book sale yesterday. Did manage to take three large boxes of food to the neighbor and take one plastic crate and three bags of bags to the library. Sold the crate there and used up all of the bags we had taken in.
Still working on decluttering the kitchen. Maybe by the end of January will finish there and can start on the room we call the library. Used to have books on the shelves but now has part of our food supply. Stacked with boxes belonging to different people that need to be sorted. The boxes only take up a space 8' by 8' but they need to go completely as I can't even get to the closet in there. I know I have stuff to declutter and sell of mine in the closet including a 108-piece set of china that was given to me 49 years ago by my sister's husband's great-aunt! Just haven't been able to get to it for a few years and am ready to let it go now.
My library has added access to 9000 magazines to the online services. Residents of other countries may sign up for APL online services by visiting anaheim.net/librarycard and then selecting the link for Online Services Card Application for international residents. It is free! They do have eBooks in several languages as well other services on there (learning a new language through Pronunciator for example).
We are having several days of rain including a major storm with thunderstorms expected in a couple of days. It started today while I was attending a Tongan funeral (most of the service was in Tongan, just a bit in English) with my roommate Di. The family lost two family members in two days at the end of the last year, so it was a double funeral and lasted at least seven hours (some people had also spent the night there). We were only there for the last three hours, which was the actual funeral service. Attended by over 350 Tongans, 4 Vietnamese, and the two of us with European ancestors. The music was fantastic. The burial was going to be where my grandparents were buried but it was over 40 miles to the cemetery. If the weather had been forecast to be better we might have gone, but my car needs new tires and is on it's last legs so we couldn't make it. Went home and worked on my parish translations - back to 1575. Started with 1716 and am working backwards to be able to read the handwriting better.
Hope all of you are staying day and warm. We have had some major snowstorms in the East that I am afraid may be heading your way. The storm coming up will be working its way East also.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday has been a dry, fairly sunny & warmer day 🙂 I got up very late 13:00 & have done precisely nothing apart from doze & watch episodes of Father Brown 🙊 Although I was awake long enough to have a bowl of hm soup 😉 The soup is now finished & the half a chilli that was put in finally released its full flavour so the soup was quite spicy. DH has just popped out with a small shopping list of items I forgot yesterday 😔 Finished watching Father Brown & have also finished reading The Thursday Murder Club. Dinner was fried chicken, boiled potatoes, sweetcorn & carrots. DH washed up most of the pots & pans which I dupa & then did the rest of the wudupa.

London_1, I definitely remember Weebles 🙂 The trouble with tripping or falling as we get older is not only do we not bounce but it seems to take forever to heal 😔 Excellent work on completing Stage 1 of your decluttering so quickly 👏 & good luck with Stage 2 🍀 It sounds like you will have a great deal more space once the wedding dress & all the family history documents are with your eldest DD 😊 Fingers crossed for your youngest DD’s house viewings 🤞That sounds like a really good price for the carpet cleaning 🙂 have you been flirting 😂 Hopefully the EA is correct about your house & then all systems go finding your new home on the IofW 😊 With all the decluttering you have done so far I have been remiss in making an award so a Gold Star ⭐️ is finally on its way 😉
Thank you for my flowers 💐 EnergyShifter 😊 Sorry to hear that you have been unwell 🤧 but happy for you that you recovered enough to get your tattoo reworked 😊
daisy_1571, it sounds like you managed to struggle out of bed 😥 & fingers crossed that you went from half shut knife to fully open knife by the early afternoon 🤞 so that it was easier to move around 🙏
TheDoolallyDilly, a busy & I hope successful Saturday morning 😊 Well done doing your housework on Friday so that your weekend is free for more pleasurable activities 👏
Wednesday2000, the bath tray sounds wonderful 🙂 although if I had one I would probably spend way too much time in the bath 🤣 Good luck with your food decluttering 🍀
Dfw38, did I read that right - a company ‘brought in’ to run the cookery lesson & another one to run a Roman day 🤨 Beggars belief 😾 Great decluttering 👏 & good luck with raising funds 🍀 although I think your idea of selling a kidney is a tad extreme 🤣
Anyone would think I had been busy today as I keep nodding off 😔 so will post this & try harder tomorrow 😉 Sleep well & cwtches to all who need them or want them 🤗🤗

Hope you feel more comfortable soon Daisy.
I agree with you queenjess, definitely tone deaf. Glad to hear that your school is more in touch with the current financial climate.
Vulpix, I just laughed at the lady. A fool and there money are easily parted!
Bag 9 filled yesterday- outgrown kids clothes, a broken rucksack, some camping pillows (really uncomfortable so we take our own) and some bedsheets for the cotbed that we no longer have.
I am constructing my 2nd dds roman outfit today. I plaited a belt using some brown wool last night and she will use a white t shirt of mine and we got some fabric yesterday to make a shawl type thing. Was amazed at the cost of stuff at the craft shop yesterday. I used to make things all the time but stopped last year when I had used up my stash as it was getting expensive
Will also have a day of pottering about and see if I can get bag 10 underway. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
