Wow, this train is moving so quickly! Mrs SD - I am in awe of how well you keep up the cheerleading 💐
I've been in the TLC Carriage again. I've had a head cold which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the sinus headaches. I got through work plus a PCC meeting on Tuesday and was resting most of the time.
Thankfully I was well enough to get to the appointment to have my tattoo reworked. The parlour is virtually all women and had such a lovely welcoming atmosphere. I'm so pleased with the result - really beautiful. Its a little sensitive now but really not too bad at all.

Scaffolding put up in preparation for roofing work (likely to be delayed due to high winds)

Ouch @daisy_1571 I hope you loosen up a bit today. @betasam wow, you really hit the ground running!
I'm off to the hairdressers this afternoon, and will be walking down to my local parade of shops shortly as I need to visit the pet shop, post office and pharmacy. I might buy myself some more flowers too 🙂 Pretty much all the housework done yesterday 🎉 I need to do that on my WFH day every week, as it makes the weekend much more pleasurable.
Happy decluttering everyone - when I was getting dressed, I spied a couple of things that might be going. I was going to wait until I switched my clothes over for spring, but that feels a long way away 🥶🥶🥶🥶Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.
Decluttering - January 2024 - 89 physical objects, over 700 emails/digital decluttering 🎊 🏅🏅17 -
Sounds like everyone doing some great cleaning and decluttering.
I've decluttered reacher and my book I was reading and a bottle of wine and that's about it 😊
Now I'll need to buy some angel delight though which is good as we have some milk needs using up18 -
Sorry to read about your accident Daisy. I slipped in the bath twice in a couple of weeks just after I moved here in 2022. I am very careful getting in and out now as it is quite a big bath and the sides get very slippery.
I did actually buy myself a bath tray for my drink/kindle etc... from Amazon yesterday and then didn't even have a bath last night! I am going to run one now. It says it is meant to be warmer today, but I have just put the heating on for a couple of hours.
I saw a dead fox when I went out to the shop last night. It must have been hit by a car. Poor thing, it looked quite young. I reported it on the council website when I got home.
I have got to alter the Tesco delivery for tomorrow and add a few things. I am going to look what we have in the fridge/freezer and what can be used up today, I know I have to finish my tub of houmous and the last of the bag of rocket today.
I did return some books to Amazon Prime but I still have 13 books on there to read. I'm going to read at least a quarter of a book a day. I did listen to the first half of that Ashley Madison podcast yesterday.
I'm not sure that I have much to declutter today apart from food... I will look around the house.2025 GOALS

Hello all! RL has been hectic so I apologise if I don't respond personally to all the messages of support.
@vulpix I also go through the same birthday party invites. Hoping they drop off a bit this year. I also agree about the kids being able to go on trips we cannot afford as a family. For us it is the panto it would cost over £120 for us but the dc can go for £20 each....which is still staggeringly expensive for us.
With regards to the cooking lesson, not caviar but teriyaki and they paid a company to come and do this....🙄
I have emailed the governors regarding the uniform change but it appears that mostparents have accepted it with one parent accusing me of being "tight' 🤣.
Yesterday I took 4 medium sized storage boxes to the re-use area at the tip and a whole load of clothes to the clothing bins.
Interesting to hear about the way trips can be funded obviously this was kept on the QT to us.
And yesterday evening we received a letter home that the dc need to dress as Romans as they are having a Roman day next week and we are also expected to pay for the privilege of having a company in to do this.
This weekend I am going to ramp up the decluttering and also see if I can sell a kidney on the black market should get a good price

@Dfw38 sounds like the school are tone deaf and oblivious to the current economic environment. Sadly it is a lottery on this stuff when you come to schools. Our current school is really good and even when it comes to dressing up they say the kids can just wear non-uniform, or they give options which are so wide you’ve probably got something already. They always say never to buy anything just for that and the week before they get people to bring in old costumes they don’t want anymore and you can pick up something yourself for free.
However, the next school up I hear is not very organised and does nothing on this basis, despite being funded the same way and practically opposite our current one.2025 decluttering: 2,387🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

Yes, MrsSD, I still like bananas and they are my MSE snack to take with me when I go on a long drive somewhere. I’m sorry I can’t send you a photo of our snow as I didn’t take any and I also don’t know how to send one to the thread- is that the right word? However……
I went out yesterday morning -4.5 degrees , roads dry and countryside beautiful with ice everywhere to the CS with
15 books, 2 balls of yarn
1 bottle shampoo- free gift with Lidl, too smelly for me
1 packet of fancy biscuits and 1 packet of candied sweets , came in the hamper each pensioner in the commune gets at Christmas from the Commune Council( the 2 bottles of wine , chocolate biscuits , chocolates and pâté all decluttered byDH and me)
Total=20/365
That’s 2024 started.Everyone is doing tremendous decluttering here and big encouraging hugs for our newbies and big hugs for everyone else.
Take care, declutterati chums.19 -
Taking a break from dealing with reassembling the kitchen. OH is unwell (up repeatedly the last 2 nights) so that actually makes it easier as he wants to pile everything in asap whereas I pointed out that the dust needs to be hoovered up first including inside the drawers. The lovely workers wiped down all the cupboards pretty well but obviously on their last day they wanted to get off home at a decent time I think. I say last day but they will be back as the floor still needs to be done but I don't know when, maybe by the end of the month hopefully!!
But in putting things back into the kitchen I'm making it a rule that we decide what goes in each cupboard, put it on the dining room table and see if there's anything in that group of stuff that we don't love anymore. I know this will get boring fast but honestly how many mugs does 1 couple actually need??
So anything that doesn't make the cut will be allocated to one of the boxes for the charity shops or foodbank (they have a home setting up side to outfit kitchens, bedrooms etc)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards.
