Decluttered DD1 back to Uni.
Yes I will miss her ands love her to bits but I often do my decluttering in stages so have strategic piles e.g. rubbish, put away, donate etc that i am working on. She then decides she is in the mood for cleaning and will mix everything up again by putting in one bag so i am often back to square one! Don’t know whether to kill her or be pleased she is helping to clean!
Been slobbing all day but will crack on whilst DD2 at work as i have to play mums taxi !Don’t put it down - put it away!

Look, I know how this is going to sound. I promise I'm not a complete culinary disaster 🙈 I decluttered an oven mitt by setting fire to it. I know. In my defence, I'm really very tired. I also decluttered a partial box of lasagne sheets into two lasagnes - one for tonight and one to freeze.19

@flamingo747 I do have some PJ's that look like a navy blue jogging set 😂
My son gets transport to school as he special needs and I put him on bus in my PJ's for first time ever last week 😭 only cos I was intending to get straight in shower after he left to clean it and wash my hair before getting it cut... Anyone else clean shower naked while you in it or just me? 😭21 -
Thank you Wednesday 2000, I will get some of the caramel desserts, though I am trying to practise the Brie method of restraint as I would like to loose the 1 1/2 stone I put on last year. What I have never had I will never miss! My weight loss has stalled. No excuses I have been eating more because it is cold and I have not been well. Need to get back on the wagon with it.
Brie, you haven't missed anything with a penguin biscuit. There are nicer biscuits to be had.
Oo Daisy, be gentle with yourself. I think it's horrible to fall as an adult, you just never expect to.
Brambling,love the paws.
OMG siebrie. Thank goodness all were ok.
Thank you for my step son's medal Mrs SD. I am ridiculously thrilled with the door curtain and the blind in the kitchen. It has made such a difference, it looks and feels more cosy. All for the sum of £24. My son phoned last night, he gave his notice yesterday. He has mixed feelings. Loves the teaching bit but now wants a life outside school as they have a lovely little baby. He is doing an extra 6 weeks until his A level students leave. I so hope his new job comes up trumps. It is a leap into the dark to change profession. I left social work after 10 years and ended up quite by accident as a teaching assistant which I loved. All the benefits of working with children but much less responsibility than a teacher.
DFW38 The school sounds a bit lax to me. It costs hundreds to have people come in for the day and in my experience not always worth it. Circus skills, cooking, pottery, story telling etc.The exception for me was a massive blow up star gazing tent. I used to do cooking through out the school on a frequent basis and as long as the ingredients were less than £10 the PFA funded it. Sometimes we made lunch for the class and that only came to about £15. I only ever made vegetarian food though. That aside I think the parent who says you are tight is an insensitive snob.
crazycatlady2 you are not alone with naked bathroom cleaning.
I have been to my Mum's house. 2 bedrooms now decluttered. 3rd bedroom yielded a massive suitcase of new fabric and 2 large boxes of fabric, now gone via thrift site. Also gone a large jigsaw board. About 6 more boxes of stuff taken to my Mum at my brother's house for her to look through. A large box of ornaments in the car for the charity shop on Monday. I have brought home a tapestry she has done, one of many ,many tapestries and embroideries I found in a drawer today. I plan to make a tote bag with the tapestry and some of the velvet I brought back last week. I am just about to be ruthless and go through my fabric which takes up 2 drawers. Some I have had many years but I haven't found a use for. It will be going on our thrift site.
in. 24 includes 2 ornaments from Mum. They may not stay,I will see how we get on. I am being very honest about what I bring in. Some are household like blinds but most I think I will find will be wants not needs.
out. 73 used up perfume,sweatshirt,jeans too big.candle

Trying to read along, hoping Daisy and others with injuries and under the weather on the mend. Couple of years older than you Daisy and I made porridge in the microwave qnd my hand slipped and some v hot milky porridge luckily only on my hand 🖐 as managed to jump back and most on the floor. Dd1 reminded she told me to move down to waist height. Can't remember why.i moved higher.
Desperately itchy to declutter but know its distraction from the mega frogs , one culminates on Tuesday so have to write documents and focus but everything else seems appealing.
Eating down supplies, item sold, packaged and posted, empty cartridges dropped off and item returned for small gift card. Counting as 4 and hoping to return middle of the week with a whirlwind of decluttering.
Hope everyone will be getting warmer in the next few days x

A few more things gone today. I've tried to do a bit of tidying in each room and if I do that everyday, it must get better right?! At least I'm doing better at not putting things off and doing them immediately. I'm also continuously on the lookout for things to go/to be used up in the kitchen cupboards. I probably need to rearrange the food cupboards a bit, but there's no point until I've used up all the stuff that won't be replaced and then I can see what space I really need. I have one drawer we aren't really using at all, so I should be able to arrange things better.I'm sure I can breach 2,000 items declutttered before the end of Jan.Digital:
12 - photos deleted
1 - notes deleted
Physical:
1 - packaging reused
1 - kitchen cupboard oversupply used up
1 - kitchen cupboard supplies used up (not to be replaced)
1 - DS tat recycled
9 - kids craft stuff used upNew total = 1,936Aside from food in the kitchen to use up, I still have some oversupply around the house of other consumables such as soap, bathroom stuff, cleaning supplies, packaging, wrapping paper, gift bags, light bulbs, batteries etc. Hoping to slowly reduce all these over the year. They have been going down over the past couple of years and one day they will be at the right level! I do count using up of anything I consider to be an oversupply, but don't count any other consumables which have already reached the right level.

Lots of fabulous decluttering going on amongst the declutterati 👏
@Liverpool_Anne - I hope you are feeling better today 💐 and likewise @daisy_1571 as that sounded like a nasty fall 💐 Also commiserations to anyone with lingering lurgies and in the TLC carriage. I hope it works its magic!
@London_1 - It was a wonderful idea to use wellies for planting bulbs in. I bet they looked great! I was almost tempted to rescue my wellies and repurpose them but decided that there wasn’t a lot of growing room in my little short boots!
We finally stored Christmas things that I had missed, which included a tree, purchased in the sale at 40% off. All packed into the loft. These are all things that I am happy to store up there but there is a lot of other stuff which will be coming out later. I had been gathering everything under the loft hatch so I am pleased that area is clear now. I have packed my returns ready to go to the post office. The two items that I am keeping have been put in the wardrobe. All packaging broken down and stored neatly. Laundry is up to date and being put away once aired. Otherwise, I am hibernating, using up some of my yarn stash and continuing to eat down the food stocks. Having got rid of so much last year we are edging a little more towards maintenance. I only have a few items for the CS at the moment. We have also decluttered a large pile of logs, trying to keep the place warm. I am very thankful that things are a bit milder, although not looking forward to the wind springing up tonight.Loved the photos of the cat and of the snowy Peak District.
Hope everyone has a good weekend 😊18
