Apart from yesterday was spent in the kitchen with DSis making a gluten free Black Forest gateau. It was delicious (even if we say so ourselves). Even DBro2 who is not a huge cake fan went back for seconds!

Storm seems to have blown away here. New basketball hoop/stand did not blow over thankfully - large water filled base. Did very little yesterday. DD has looked up all the travel details for my France trip (with 2 SILs) in September. Can book Eurostar part now. I have deleted 1000 plus names and records (too distant a relation to keep info on, irrelevant etc) - family history records go back some 40 years since I started and this cull has been a long time coming. Currently 47800 records so I think I will award myself a point for every 1000 this number reduces by.
Wow 40 pages to catch up on so sending hugs to those that need them, cheering on those that are tackling their goals and frogs, and I've put some malt loaf in the TLC carriage for anyone that wants it.
Had a productive week and a bit here with 136 items out which include:
old laminate flooring 3 different carpet remnants a couple of things sold on vinted some really old makeup and hair stuff emptied out and recycled clothes donated to various charity shops paperwork shredded and boxes recycled
We had our carpet fitted in the main bedroom on Thursday and for a cheap remnant, it's an exact match for the rest of the carpet in the house 👍 Took that as an excuse to declutter everything in the bedroom; everything came out and only the things we need went back in. Only thing left to sort is my nail polish and once that's sorted, I can work out what size box I need to store it in and then that gets rid of an entire stack of drawers. There were other things in the drawers that I emptied out and relocated or decluttered, I don't have hundreds of nail polishes... 🤔
DH is also fully on board with the "move ready" philosophy and even finally took the hard drives out of his old PC's so we could get rid of those and free up basically an entire section in the cupboard of doom. He want's to just blitz everything but I'm having to slow him down as I don't have the energy a lot of the time to do it all. One drawer / cupboard every few days is about all I can manage at the moment and that's ok.
After all of that we're now at 281 OUTs for the year so far and 6 IN's and we're not even at the end of January! At this rate I might up the target to 500 or 1000!

@nannywindows wishing you nothing but the best I have survived it twice but then I'm a stubborn old woman .Think positive honey and let the Drs work their miracles for you. I'm with you all the way its a dreadful worry I know but lots of gently love and good vibes coming to you both. Lets hope you both Decluutter the horrible illness asap.
Today I have to huge family history boxes to sort out for DD as she wants all the history stuff. I don't think she realises how much stuff has accumulated since 1976 when I first started. But I shall try to get all the notes in order and file them so she can see how its been sorted out. It didn't help when doing my late husbands Fathers tree we didn't know at the time the chap I had down as his granddad was not his birth grandfather but someone else so I did a 200 year research on the wrong tree.My husbands granny left her first husband in 1908 and moved in with a different chap when her children were 2 & 4 and took his name and had another 5 children with him and the whole lot were brought up with the second chaps name So I did all of the tree over a period of 6 years on the wrong blooming tree. Eventually sorted it out But of course back then unless you were very rich, divorces were almost unheard of Granny's first husband moved away from London to a different part of the country, and I took me 5 years to track down where he had gone to. Family history when you shake the tree is quite funny what falls out. I don't think my Ma-in-law ever knew she was married under the wrong name. She would have been horrified to find out Granny Eleanor was quite an old fashioned person when older, but in her youth moving in with a married man who took on both of your two children as well was fairly unusual. But apparently they were very much in love. Even her surviving children were quite shocked at what I had discovered as they said she was a very prim and proper Granny Fascinating hobby though like a large jigsaw that you never can finish.
Ok back to decluttering ,at least the wind has dropped and the sun is out. fingers crossed the bulbs will start poking their heads up.
Well the weekend was full of working on emptying parents house and stuff brought here (currently sat in the van still as it has to go away immediately) for visiting and using up. There are a few items to be staying for a while and are having to be housed appropriately and other stuff needs to leave the house. Success that was accomplished for the under the sink storage is now facilitating an influx of other cleaning products to be UU. At least it will fit and save pennies going forward. Some items have been passed on freely and a small amount generated a little money to be stashed. I have been amazed at what has been redirected away from just tipping stuff. DH asking why I was bringing home stuff, so I can recycle it properly was my answer. I daren't do any numbers as I would cause myself too much stress, best to feel successful with any win of stuff leaving.

On the declutter journey since 2023 with Mrs SD. Tilly Tidy since 2023.
I've decided I have had enough of doing housework, so even though I am currently in work, I will be tackling my Office Cupboard of Doom tonight. I've drawn myself out a plan of what I want in there, and where I want it to go. I'm sure there is lots of paperwork in there, and other random things that just either need a really home, or need to go in the bin.
I desperately need to clean the hamster out tonight, and remove him from the upside down crate on the floor that he is living on. It's making my room look much smaller than it is.
I've been doing well at plodding on with keeping on top of the house and laundry mountains, and I'm still going with my photo deletions, although I don't have the number to hand at present.
I like the idea of tracking ins and outs, I might add that to my tracking too. So far this year, I have purchased 14 things in. A waterproof coat, a pink boiler suit, 2 pairs of mens trousers (all charity shop) 3 books, a two pack of radiator keys, 2 stop valves, filofax refills, a mini slow cooker and a mini George Foreman (the latter two for my husband's meals and for use in the campervan). I do need to get some plastic popper wallets to organise my paperwork today though.
I've sold 4 more things on Vinted (11 total this year and I've made £87.50) and gifted a hat/scarf/gloves/headband set to a friend bringing new totals to 82 phyiscal things out +2 points for digital decluttering. I'm almost a fifth of the way to my target for Vinted sales already, so I may up that target, as I still have looooooooads to list. I'm going to grant myself an extra 1 bonus point for losing 6lbs this month.
Looking at it like that makes me feel pretty good about my progress. I decluttered some parenting guilt yesterday by spending some quality time with my daughter making miniature clay animals and watching movies on my laptop. It was nice to not have to run around cleaning!
This entire comment has been as disjointed as I feel, so I'm going to stop typing now x

@charlies_tribe Good luck with UC switch, we're now in the long wait for the assessment period to pass. Having to be a bit thriftier especially as Mr Flamingo's job change meant only 2.5 weeks pay in early Jan not 4! It'll all come right in the end. I did laugh at your poor massacred barbies!
MrsSD can we see your After hob pics too?
Still not decluttered the never-ending cough! And the storm has finally killed the fence panel that got damaged in a storm back in March. We were told by lettings agency that LL wanted us to just bodge it together with bits of wood rather than it getting replaced, which we did, but now the bottom has gone through to next door. I will have to declutter some screws and things just to keep out dog in!

The storm wasn't that bad here and I can't see any damage in my garden or next door.
I was thinking of going to a meditation class today, but I had a bad sleep and then thought £6 for a class that lasts an hour seemed too steep. I decided to just do a free YT meditation in the bath instead. I do feel quite refreshed after doing it, but I will see if I stick to it. If I stick to doing it daily then I might go to the class as a reward. I have almost used up a rosehip serum on my face and the other serum as body lotion today. Probably one more bath or shower will use it up.
I did see there are classes for gong baths around here too, I'm not sure what exactly that is, but I would try it once. I do feel quite good today after the bath and meditation. I like that the weather seems a lot milder too, maybe Spring is on it's way. I like that it is mild enough not to need the heating on today.
My Tesco order was cancelled yesterday so it is only arriving tonight between 10-11 pm instead. I am going to try and see how to use up the fresh food I have left in the fridge.
I am going into Southend city centre tomorrow so I will take a bag to donate. I was just talking with my husband yesterday about moving house when he retires so I am going to have that mentality to donate things I don't want to take with us. I will go through my wardrobe when I get back from my walk. I want to finish my current book today too. I need to send a few texts when I get back too and an email.
