Friday was another dark, dreary day with a forecast high of 10°C. I had a weird dream last night - that my large (expensive) wheelie bin & large (free) recycling wheelie bin had both been removed & replaced with a single small rubbish only wheelie bin 😱 Checked around the close & discovered that all my neighbours were in the same boat 🤔 Very odd & not quite sure what it signifies 😂 I received another birthday card this morning (no age mentioned) 🙂 DH & DSis went shopping in the car - both sounded as ill as each other 😔 I have finally finished the 2nd hat, scarf & wrist warmers set - see photo - & have started knitting a scarf to use up the leftover black & purple yarn before starting on the next set.
My flowers are now in a vase & I discovered a box of chocolates in the delivery box 🥳 When DH & DSis got back I put all the shopping away. DH filled the bird feeders & put the now disintegrating pumpkins into the wormeries & compost bins. DSis sorted her flowers - changed the water & got rid of dead flowers. Dinner was a shop bought chicken & asparagus pie with mash. Very disappointing. Wudupa.
21 - 23 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, drinks cans - recycled

GrannyKate, I do hope everything went well Friday morning 🙏 & that you now have an actual moving date 🙏 Hopefully now that things are actually happening there will be no more hiccups 🤞 I agree with vulpix that it will be handy to get your plants in situ ahead of the moving date 🙂 Shame about the extra expenses for your current house 😔 Good luck 🍀
Lovely reassuring post London_1 ☺️
Excellent work with the crafting vulpix 👏 & good luck with the rest of your crafting projects 🍀 Fluffy looks very contented 😉
Nodding off, so will post & complete the cheerleading tomorrow. Sleep tight 😴

Hi all. Many thanks for the kind thoughts and shared stories (especially @London_1 )from everyone re moving. It has been a nightmare and I hope we are seeing the end of the tunnel and not a train coming the other way. The insurance thing is a bit complicated and I have given it to solicitor to sort. I went to sign contracts with nice lady who was witnessing my signature but who said she knew nothing of my case. I now know that solicitor working on my case is based 25 miles away not here. She produced set of documents for purchase which I signed. When I asked where the others were she just looked blank. I explained that I needed to sign the papers for the sale of this house but she didn't have those. Fortunately I had taken my own set with me and signed those. (My solicitor says she did send both sets but no confidence in her at all). We will see what Monday brings.
My sellers have finished emptying property and were happy to let neighbour give me a set of keys yesterday so I can clean and measure and put plant pots in garden. It was surreal to wander round the empty house yesterday afternoon. Everything needs decorating - people had been there since new in 1963. It will be sad to leave my lovely bungalow which my husband put so much work into but it's time to move on and I feel positive about making a new smaller home. I know I need to live there before making any big decisions and there are jobs like the roof repair and electrics to sort out first. They left quite a few pots and the garden has been tidied and pruned back by local odd job man who I need to meet. The place is quite clean but very musty and needs airing out. Turning into the drive was tricky and getting out even more so. Widening the entrance may be another priority as there is a brick post on one side - on the other side the post has already been removed because it kept getting hit. A nice surprise was my daughter spotted a built in dishwasher on the paperwork - neither of us had noticed it as not under sink. I knew my dishwasher needed throwing away and I didn't think I had space for one in new kitchen until I remodel it. There is a washing machine space as well. Tumble drier can go in garage or store room behind it for the moment. Greenhouse has some pots and things in there which is fine but thankfully they have emptied the 'man cave' brick shed except for work bench and old storage units. It was stuffed to the gills with things - paint, tools etc
DGD1's horse poorly last night but on antibiotics and improved this morning. DGS1 borrowed his mum's car whilst she was away last week - with permission as he has been driving it when at home from uni. He suddenly remembered he hadn't bought a parking ticket for where he left it last week. He said it never occurred to him. Smallest grandchildren have probably slept their last night here - all my grandchildren have only known me living at this house as I have been here 25 years and they are aged 9-19. I caught up with my window cleaner and paid the moneys owed. He has moved some distance away so will not want to come to my new place - he has just be doing his old customers in this area and is probably building a new customer base where he lives now. Plumber came and had to get parts for toilet which he came back and fixed yesterday. He says he thinks the whole thing needs replacing so I will tell my buyer that. It is working. He turned water softener off as that is source of continuous overflow into back drain.
DD is coming back tomorrow for a few days to hopefully sort the last few things out. I have some frogs to do today so need to dress and get on with it. Not much to cook with or eat so treated myself to fish and chips again last night.

Hi,
Granny Kate, 92 boxes. My inner nerd loves that. The move will soon be a distant memory.
Liverpool Anne, that is a brill idea to make a tabard. If only I had read it before spending ages deconstructing a hi viz jacket and making a teeny weeny one.
I spent all afternoon sewing and finished off with a spot of knitting. Miles and miles of bunting made which has used up almost all of my Christmas fabric. What is left I will possibly use on my Christmas chairs or in making Christmas tree skirts.
I also had 10 minutes in the garden collecting up leaves. Little and often is best for that job.
Mr V sold a phone yesterday, kerching.
I have decided to release the towel rail that I displayed quilts on. There will be no surplus furniture in the house once the towel rail is gone. Of course Christmas chairs to be are not here yet !
My daughter and her friend are on their way here for coffee. They have travelled from Sheffield to Tatton park and done a 10k run and I am not even out of bed.
Better get dressed. Vx:16 -

Hi all, as I predicted yesterday was a slow decluttering day
Conditioner uu finally when I washed my hair, this has been lurking for a few years from a bulk buy
only 1 bottle left. Lr bin emptied again, 2 plastic sweet tins into the hard plastic bag. These had been saved by OH but I had done a major reshuffle of one of OH's heaps while searching and had left it in front of OH's couch. OH asked why I hadn't put it back and I said I thought you might want to sort it out
. Lots of things came my way which went into the bin / recycling / cs bag so some progress there considering OH was questioning every piece of paper I had put in the recycling the evening before
. A craft set passed to OH to send to the children in Germany along with 2 small tins to be filled with sweets and some euros for Christmas.
This morning I have been for my b12 jab and a small sm shop that I didn't get to yesterday and a load of jeans in the machine. The washing from yesterday is back on the line with a few bits on the maiden as none of it was properly dry. I am not sure what else I will do today but the kitchen is wrecked so I think I will start there and see where I get to
A pair of magpies are decimating the bird food between the smaller birds diving in and grabbing a bit
@London_1 so glad the builders are cracking on and you are at the stage of choosing blinds, it won't be long before you are sitting in your own room
@Florenceem good luck with the dentist. More good work with the sales. Shame about the neighbours over the road and the terrible landlord. I hope they manage to find somewhere nice to live.
@QueenJess thanks for the crumble, mmmm, one of my favourite things
@dND sorry to hear you are still waiting on building to be done. Hang in there and try to keep positive. I know how hard it is living in a building site, hugs. Hope you soon sort out what you need to keep the little cat healthy and happy hugs.
Ok off to do something before I go to the footy later. Hugs to everyone who would like one

I woke up with a hacking cough and sore throat yesterday. I did go out in Central London one day and to then to a busy vegan fayre this past weekend so I must have picked something up. I realised that my husband must have used up all the paracetamol when he had the flu a few weeks ago so I had to take ibuprofen instead. I also realised that we didn't have any tinned soup in the house and had to make do with a cupasoup sachet. I have ordered shopping for tomorrow and ordered a batch lot of tinned soup and more paracetamol in case this happens again over the winter! I thought I was more prepared than that.
I actually feel not too bad today, just with a cough. I'm not sure if it was Covid as I don't have any tests, but I seem to have bounced back very quickly.
I did have a spurt of energy yesterday evening and rearranged the medicine drawer, the drawer downstairs where we keep all important bits and my make-up drawer. Paperwork was thrown out and I'm starting another bag for the charity shop. I have 6 items in the bag so far. The medicine drawer looks much better as I can see easily now what we are missing.
My cat has arthritis too which seems to have gotten worse in the last few weeks. We are giving her a supplement YuMove so maybe it needs time to work. The vet said there was an injection we could try.2025 GOALS

Afternoon
First belated happy birthday Mrs SD and hope you're making it a long birthday weekend.
Realised 2 weeks til my friend and her son ( adult) staying. Went in dd2s room which one od them will sleep in. Abit of tidying with lots of small rubbish out and dead plant and pot - counting as 12.
2 items sold and packaging and just off to post (4)
Bathmat and underwear to textiles and bamboo storage and electronics to new ca bag, some paper and electronic declutter but much more needed.
Think the borrowers and goblins have been moving things around again.
Sorry to hear about the trials and hassle with moving for some people .
Did look at couple of houses last week but not good which is good as my house not in a state to go on the market.
Hope everyone staying warm and cosy
Will add numbers later as hope to add to what's been done .13 -
Hi chums, CS stuff dropped off and then 2 jigsaw plus three books bought so lashed out £4.50 for the lot. A bargain I thought as two were hardback books I’d not read and the two jigsaws looked interesting.
Got my blinds and curtain pole plus a 1200 litre storage box for garden stuff
A productive day all round even though we decluttered some cash to B&Qs 🤣
Now clever folk when DD moved one of her leather sofas she discovered that the chap who did the decorating before she moved had left some white paint marks on the back. Hadn’t noticed them until today as it was one that had been put in the conservatory and it’s a bit hefty to move.
so any ideas in what to use to remove paint from a black
leather sofa She will be replacing the two sofas probably next year at some point but just wants to spruce them up a bit. You can’t see the marks, but like me she knows they are there and just wants them gone. We’ve tried nail polish remover and even rubbing alcohol but nothing worked any suggestions would be welcome. There not bit makes more like small drops .
Hope everyone has a good weekend

I have a tiny sharp bit of tooth after the dental work but apart from that I am happy. It is a new dentist as mine left the practice. Never had a woman dentist before - I had heard good things about her - she certainly made a good job of the hole in my front tooth.
I have had a day ironing and sorting bits for V and taking photos.
Been a bumper day for sales - £76.10.
We were on food collection duty this evening at SA.
While there we sorted donations - we haven't been to SA since Wednesday. There were 7 sacks of donations out by the recycling hopper - one was full of Halloween rubbish so we have to put it in our bin which we pay to have emptied.
I did find some good bits to bring home for selling. Someone had donated two black sacks of Harrods year bears. I will get my special faux fur tool and tidy them up and see if I can sell any.
