Not much decluttering going on here apart from ££s. Emergency roof work was needed at the same time as planned window replacements so there's not much left in the coffers.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Morning. Happy Birthday Mrs SD.
Off to sign some legal papers at 9.30. Things happened at amazing speed yesterday and I sat and read a three inch thick wad of papers early this morning. I may be moving a week today but buyer is not happy if it is any later. I have to sort buildings insurance for between exchange and completion which is not proving straightforward. DD returned early from her overseas trip ands back here on Sunday. In contact with seller's direct which is helping things and they are happy for me to have the set of keys held by the neighbour, who is friend of mine, to measure etc. They are also happy for me to put pots and plants in back garden. Excited to see the place empty.
Plumber came and confirmed water softener is source of continuous running water so he turned it off. I think buyer said she was going to replace it anyway. He has to come back today with parts to repair toilet flush which is to working at all. That will be a bill to pay. I got a bill for the gas report and boiler service back in August so I need to pay that as well.
Will keep you updated.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Good morning all
GrannyKate I know it seems like it’s never ending plus always paying out bills etc but before you know it you will have moved and be looking back like myself and saying ‘never again’
its 4 months tomorrow since DD, Son-in-law and I jointly sold our respective houses and moved and at the time it felt like it was never going to happen and bills kept arriving for things and all the kerfuffle of changing everything including letting god knows how many different things online about your change of address and setting up new things online 🙄 but as is often said ‘this too will pass’ and you will move, and fingers crossed be fairly settled in
We moved in the middle of a huge torrential downpour of rain in July and everywhere was flooded and the M25 was like a river but we finally arrived and now, although we have had builders and plumbers and plasterers and window fitters in I can finally see how our forever house will be.
By the end of this month, probably in the next 10 days or so we can eventually get everything unpacked plugged in (my TV) and sorted.
Then we will look back and say thank goodness it’s all done at last
I wish you well in your new place and just take a day at a time. Once your bed is up and kettle is on the nice bit of moving house begins 👍😃
Good luck with your move and many good days ahead settling in 🥰13 -
Good morning fellow decluteratti,
Well that's a turn up for the books Granny Kate. Fingers crossed that there are no more hold ups. Being able to put your plant pots in the new garden before the move is a massive help. Moving a garden too takes a house move to a whole new level.
The clothes rail sold and collected.
I will press on with using the Christmas fabric up today. Some of the makes will be for the church shop and some for the community centre Christmas fair. The fabric scraps I will list on thrift for kids collage or whatever. I will also make a hi viz jacket for baby V, We have bought him a sit and ride digger for Vulpixmas. We got a toy hard hat but even kids hi viz are huge. I will post a pic of Fluffy helping me when I was trying to cut a pattern for the Hi viz.
I bought fur fabric the other day to make cushions for the Christmas chair. Mr V will fetch the chair when he comes home tomorrow. I am excited to start making it. I am toying with the idea of getting another chair and making 2. It will finish off dribs of paint, which will be good.
I really want to try and get all my crafting frogs done. A cushion for Mr V with material from the moulting dressing gown and a couple of Christmas tree skirts. Oh also hand sew a Moravian star and knit my son a jumper. I did start the jumper but I didn't like how the wool knitted up into stripes so have undone it.
I had better get on with it then. Vx:16 -
Just another quick fly-by to say Happy Birthday (belated) to Mrs SD 💐and all others I’ve missed. Hugs and commiserations to all who need them and congratulations to everyone on their successes, however small.
I’m still in the doldrums; it’s been 10 months since I moved in and I’ve still to unpack. After nearly 4 weeks of trying, I got a response from my builder last Friday and they said that the RSJ would be going in this week. Well, it’s nearly midday Friday and I’m sat here with no builders. I still haven’t been sent the electrical certificate for the rewiring either – I’m assuming that they are withholding that until I’ve paid in full. I do still own them some money rather than they owe me money so that’s not a worry but I would like to get on with my life. So much for being sorted for Christmas and having family and friends to stay!
Apart from that, my lovely senior cat, Jewel, has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and arthritis so lots of money is being decluttered to the vet. Thankfully I did take out insurance once I got the cats out of the cattery back in February but I’m dreading what the renewal quote will be. 😱
I’m still reading along although it’s sometimes 60+ posts on MSE that I have to catch up on!! In the garden I’m continuing to declutter a lot of weeds and I’ve another pile of stuff left behind by the previous owners that can go to the CS – an ironing board, a mop and bucket, a large saucepan etc..
Looking around the house I have far too many doom piles so I’m trying to work through them when I have the mental strength but as I have nowhere yet to store stuff it’s usually a sort into another doom pile with, if I’m lucky, a bit hitting recycling or the bin because I’ve decided I don’t need to keep it. 🤣
Love to you all. Dxx💕💕
