Really poor nights sleep Tuesday night 🙁 Probably depressed myself by watching bits of the US Election before I went to bed. Now having got up & dressed & seen the result I am even more depressed 😔 I can barely imagine how weenancy is feeling 😭 It is also damp outside, so must have rained 🙁 Both wheelie bins were emptied on the same day again 🤔 I have finished knitting the scarf 🙂 but now begins the laborious task of sewing in all the ends 😉 I felt very cold today, only a high of 11°C, so had the heating on for a couple of hours. DH & DSis went out in the car to fill up with petrol & picked up a few bits including sausages for our dinner. We had these with mash & baked beans. Wudupa. DSis made a chocolate & coconut cake.

Hi all - reading along but will catch up with everyone's news when I have time. Complaint seemed to give solicitor kick but she is pretty grumpy. Emails came in thick and fast - Estate Agent continues to harass me but there is nothing I can do. On the helpful front seller is communicating with me directly about the house and they agreed to reduce price to reflect roof issue having seen my photos and estimate. Not moving Monday as I thought but may only be delayed a few days. Solicitor is missing an essential form and the correct contract she says. About to declutter money as toilet flush has stopped working and I have a water overflow from somewhere out the back so that may be why water bill has gone up. Plumber due this morning.
Not going to discuss politics but relatives across the pond are equally depressed by yesterday's news.2025 Decluttering Campaign 446/2025 🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟

Hi all
There's some spectacular decluttering going on here - very inspiring.
Thank you Mrs_SD for my gold star.
Finally back on fleabay after 3 years and it's going well. Thought I would have about 30 things to sell but after further ROD rummaging it's more like 70 but feeling upbeat about it as most is small parts of collections that I can do as job lots.
Items out of the house:
6 items sold on fleabay
box of net curtain whitener sachets went damp and useless in pantry
soft plastics to sm
2 more lightbulbs
2 more unused mugs
keyring
pack of 50 curtain hooks
pack of curtain hook eyes
useless magnetic mesh net door curtain
2 batteries
2 pieces of crockery
another nail polish
another cleaning product
mini hotel shampoo
30+ papers/cards (counting as 3)
broken sunglasses
borrowed book back to a friend (3 year frog)
2 x darning
13 bits and bobs
I've made £92.25 from fleabay which takes my "make" total to £99.38.
I've also decluttered 8lbs and will count it even though it is re-gained from earlier this year - trying to get into the right mindset before X-mas.
I've been flossing as if my life depends on it in an effort to lower the dental floss mountain. For about a week every time I pull the floss it makes a rackety noise and I keep thinking finally, this is it, the last piece. But frustratingly not, got to be this month tho 🙂
Keep going everybody.

TC77, I love the dog meme. That was me, bringing home a free chair! I don't imagine it will live with us very long. Easy come, easy go.
Weenancy, I don't know what to say other than I am sorry in many ways about your election.
I like the idea of cacti in your front garden. Would ornamental grasses please your neighbour better? Pampas grass is very popular here at the moment.Gardening is an expensive hobby though.
Liverpool Anne, great news that you have booked a break. I do hope that when you next post you will have found your driving licence. Have you got time to get a replacement if not? Which would then mean the original turns up like Daisy's. I hate losing things. Not the loss of the thing but because I can't remember what I have done with it.
I am not going to yoga today. The time has been changed to accommodate a meeting and it's 10 miles away. My bones need a couple of hours to come round to my way of thinking in a morning. Instead I promise To get the sewing machine out and make some Christmas things for the church shop.I think bunting will be a quick and easy make.
Mr V is going to do a couple of woodwork frogs today at man shed. Put a back on a very small set of drawers for his studio and make a small glass door into a picture frame for me. The door was on a lovely little Edwardian bookcase that I restored which looked better without a glass door. He is taking a fair amount of wood to donate to the man shed which turned up in the sort out. He says that this afternoon he will sort the drawers in the storage shed. I am hoping that we can also get photos taken and list the unwanted things stored in there too.
Out today, 2 big bags of soft plastics to the supermarket.

Betharooni, I am sorry to hear about your Mum.x
I was going to watch the election coverage the other night, but I went to sleep and checked what was happening when I woke during in the night. I've been trying to ignore it since then.
I had a very vivid dream last night that my house was very cluttered and I couldn't find any shoes! I woke up and actually looked around the room and remembered that I have all my shoes in one of my wardrobes. It seemed very real.
My husband just took another two bags to the charity shop as there is one near to where he is getting his ears unwaxed, or whatever the expression is. Bags of clothes and some of my costume jewelry.2025 GOALS

Thursday is another dreary overcast day & looks like it has rained again 🙁 I was up @ 11:00 but not yet dressed. DH made my first cuppa & I have opened my 6 birthday cards (not one of which has mentioned my age even though it is a ‘significant’ one 😂) + have had 4 birthday messages as well 😊 Straight into the cheerleading 🙂
vulpix, you are most welcome 😊 So lovely that your stepson knows you so well & understands your foibles 😉 Very pleased to hear that your elbow is so much better 🥳 but that is not an excuse to go wild 😝 remember to take care & rest if you get a twinge again 🙏 I will let you off your minor lapse of restoring a single chair as long as you promise to complete it before you start your next furniture restoration project 😂
Wednesday2000, I do hope yesterday’s “big clothes declutter” went well 🤞
retiredinfrance, so lovely to hear that both you & MrRIF are so much better 😮💨 I did have to smile at this “Our local CS , has no demand for philosophy and science books in English” 😃 very remiss of them 😂 Excellent decluttering, at this rate I will soon be awarding you another gold star 👏
Liverpool_Anne, yippee to booking your mini break 🥳 ‘yah boo sucks’ to having to hunt out your driving licence 😒 Fingers crossed that the licence reappears without too much upheaval 🤞Good luck 🍀
basketcase, I think it is that time of year when many of us feel “a bit off” but can’t quite pin it down 😔 Please spend as much time as you want in the TLC Carriage 😊 & yes please I will have a hug or three 😉 More excellent decluttering especially the “Alligator Wrangling” 👏
Betharooni, lovely to see you back 👋 although I am very sorry to hear about your DMum 😢 Please treat yourself gently over the coming months 🙏
Some excellent decluttering 👏 + you have the distinction of being the first to sign up for the 2025 EDT 😊
daisy_1571, now that is a wonderful tale 🥳 & how bizarre that the driving licence managed to ‘hide’ for so long 🧐 Just wondering if Liverpool_Anne is now looking in her passport 😉
London_1, your mention of Tony Hancock had me looking up the video 😉 To this day, it is still one of the funniest sketches EVER 🤣 The tearoom sounds wonderful 🙂 thank you for sharing its history 👏 Shame that you didn’t manage to find any clothes although more than made up for it by buying proper sausages from the butcher 😊 Good news that the plumbing is almost finished 👏
I will break off here to say that I have just opened my 7th birthday card (from my DSis), received flowers from my DH + from my DSis a stunningly beautiful ornament (the photo does not do it justice + she is called Megan) 😊 DSis is a tad upset that I love it so much 😉 as she was rather hoping to keep it herself 🤣 A double joy as she bought it via an Hospice Shop online auction 😇
+ the cake that DSis baked last night
Back to cheerleading
Florenceem, 🤩 Sorry to hear that there are people who still believe it is acceptable to, what I can only describe as, ‘dump their rubbish’ at the SA 😾😞 no wonder no-one wants to volunteer to do the sorting 😞 Another extremely busy day so I do hope you manage to have a quieter more restful day today 🙏
Excellent work dealing with such emotional frogs Betharooni 👏 Hope you have a lovely time on your last trip of the year & that the weather is kind 🙏
weenancy, please, please make sure that all your roommates pitch in with the furniture moving 🙏 I am very impressed at how restrained & articulate you are about a certain person 😉 Also rather grateful that this Forum puts up a warning about “Avoiding Political Debate” so that although we can make a quick observation about what has happened, we can then draw a line & just get back to our lives 😮💨 A combination of terrifying & exciting re the tree - so very pleased to hear that the issue has been temporarily resolved 😮💨 but will keep everything crossed that the city get someone out immediately to prune the tree 🤞
GrannyKate, good news that the complaint letter has got the ball rolling 🙂 Although not too sure why the solicitor should be grumpy - she has not exactly been very (or even remotely) professional about doing her job 😞 Well said about you know what 😉
Excellent decluttering regnbue 👏 especially the fleabay sales & the 3 year old frog 👏 I will keep my fingers crossed that the ‘dental floss mountain’ will soon be just a hill 🤞😉
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Good luck to MrV dealing with his woodwork frogs 🍀 Also wishing you success with your ‘listings’ 🤞
Wednesday2000, I think we are all trying to ignore ‘it’ for as long as possible 😞 I would call that a ‘nightmare’ 😱 Great decluttering 👏 especially as it will soon be out of the house not just bagged up 👏
All caught up, so I suppose I should get dressed 😅 Lots of cwtches available for anyone who would like one 🤗 🤗 🤗 🤗 See you later 👋
